Matt linked me, “Where is she?” I answered, “Her cousins showed up. They are heading back here now.” Jasper and James grinned at all of us as they took two seats in the back by Allie. James winked at Haley. He almost fell over the back of his chair in fright, and shock, when Alpha Eric growled at him. I snorted. Jasper nudged James and they stood as Lexi came into view.
The pack seemed confused but when Haley stood everyone else did too. I shrugged. We were just going to have a unique Luna ceremony. I almost forgot all the words to the ceremony when I saw my mate. She’d kept the basics of the Luna dress but added some black to it. She was stunning. I got hard looking at her little bump.
Matt linked, “Jeez between seeing your hard on and smelling her arousal this is going to be fun run.” I pointed out, “That shouldn’t surprise anyone.” Matt huffed, “It doesn’t. I just wanted to state it out loud. Alpha Eric has been sporting a hard on since Haley popped in. It’s such an impressive hard on.”
I yelled, “FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, MATT!” Matt asked, “What? I’m happily mated, and Ted who is surprisingly well endowed. I am beyond satisfied with my TeleTed.” I turned to face him with shock written on my face.
Matt continued, “I’ve seen what Alpha Eric is packing though, and it’s impressive.” I pleaded, “I’m going to beg you to stop talking about people’s dicks before I Alpha command you to cut it the fuck out.” Matt sighed, “Testy. Lexi’s here.”
I turned back around and took Lexi’s hand. She captivated me. Why did the current Alpha perform this ceremony if they became Alpha before they met their Luna? I was barely able to focus long enough to get the words out.
Alpha Eric linked me, “I had the same problem. You’re doing it all right if that helps.” I smirked at him. When I got to the part where I asked Lexi if she accepted the title of Luna of our pack, she didn’t even hesitate. She said she did. She accepted me. Despite everything we went through she didn’t even hesitate. I loved her.
I howled in joy and the entire pack joined me. We all started stripping down. Ted was whispering to Matt encouraging him to take it all off seductively. I wasn't even going to look behind me to see if he was. If I knew my Beta, he was going to do whatever his mate wanted.
When Haley popped onto Thor’s back, Bolt linked me, “Mate could ride on us. She’s pregnant. Riding would be easier than running.” I agreed, “We can ask her.” Bolt was practically begging her with his eyes. She jumped on and he purred.
I linked him, “For that purr, you’d better move your ass.” He started running. He was brimming with pride. Wolf couples started to split off. I spotted James Scot flirting with one of my pack members. He should stop. That was Kayla and her brothers were protective to put it lightly.
Kevin walked up growling, “Get away from my sister!” James put his hands up, “You can’t fault me for talking to a beautiful woman.” Kayla giggled and blushed. I linked Kevin, “Walk away. We don’t need a fight at the end of our Luna ceremony.” Kevin responded, “Fine. If he talks to her again, I’ll hit him.”
I pointed out, “You’d have to catch him. Something tells me he’d run away really fast.” Kevin said, “I’m patient. I could stalk out where he’s hiding.” I snorted, “Hiding... lives... same difference I suppose.” Kevin didn’t reply.
Bolt pouted when Lexi climbed off his back. He linked, “That was the best. We should carry mate like that all the time.” I ignored him and shifted back. Lexi and I teased each other before we devoured each other. We didn't leave for several hours because I couldn’t get enough of her. It was honestly a miracle I got anything done.
When we got up to leave Bolt frantically asked, “Can you ask her to let us carry her back? I’ll take over if you don’t ask. It feels so amazing. Please! I hardly ask you for anything. Let me carry mate home!” I rolled my eyes. Obnoxious wolf. Thankfully, Lexi agreed. Bolt shifted and jumped up and down. I rolled my eyes at him.
When we got back in sight of the house I sighed. Jordan Scott was waiting with a present in his hands. I shifted behind a tree not wanting to leave Lexi alone with him. Jordan nodded to me and handed Lexi the gift. He was about to leave when Lexi stopped him.
I linked Matt, “Are you inside?” Matt replied, “Yes with Heath.” I instructed, “Crack the door or window. He’s going to want to hear this.” Matt snorted, “You’ve met my mate, right? He’s been staring out the window since Kevin linked me that Jordan arrived. Heath is with him. It’s been cracked open for about an hour.”
I admitted, “I guess that does sound like something TeleTed would do.” Matt agreed, “Yup.” Jordan gave away the fact that Lexi had a Hackura guard. I shot him a look as the guard stepped out. I’d moderately forgotten he was there. They were so damn invisible and silent all the time.
Jordan tried to turn his laugh into a cough when I glared at him, because Lexi hugged said guard that she happened to know. Matt linked me, “Ted said Lexi and Uther are just friends. He taught her some fighting moves. Nothing more than platonic friendship between them.”
I grumbled, “Oh sure. Be perfectly rational because it’s not Ted. Let’s not forget you want to kill some drifting vampire we’ve never met.” Matt snarled at the reminder then said, “They fucked! That’s different!” I snarked, “Stop being rational. It’s pissing me off.”
Jordan told her the meeting with their families was next week. I could hear Heath cursing up a storm. Apparently, he’d stayed back to tell her about it. He didn’t want her to stress prior to the ceremony today. She didn’t seem to care.
Heath muttered more curses when I put together their parents were spelled. He might have even invented a few. Jordan looked hopeful. I could tell it hurt him; his twin didn’t believe him. I found it convenient and odd neither family was there when he was accused of killing someone.
Why would there be some giant conspiracy to separate the families so some deranged guy could have Allison? It didn’t make any sense, but at the same time it did. When I felt a gust of wind, I immediately looked around for Haley Conners but didn’t see her.
Lexi closed her eyes, the wind seemed to bring her comfort. Matt linked, “You could’ve told her Heath was inside.” She was having a moment with her trying to be an uncle, Uncle. I knew they were taking him to their parents’ grave.
I shifted and Bolt begged, “Come on Chase ask her to ride on us. She is pregnant with our pups it’s the least we could do. Please!” I replied, “You are becoming very obnoxious.” Again, Lexi agreed. Once we reached the area I went right through, and Heath brought Jordan in. Heath had grabbed shorts for me. I threw them on as Lexi led Jordan to her parent’s graves.
Jordan sobbed for his brother while Lexi led us to a bench. They talked as I listened to Jordan. “James, I know I haven’t done right by your kids. If you’re out there watching, I’m sorry. I’ve been doing my best trying to respect everyone’s wishes. I should’ve said screw their wishes and taken the kids. Hanson won’t get Lexi or your granddaughter. I swear it. I miss you, James.”
He wiped his tears saying, “Even you Allison. I know you think I didn’t like you. I loved how happy you made my brother. I swear to you I didn’t kill Lizzy. I’m so sorry I failed both of you. I’ve been keeping a closer eye on Lexi and Heath. Busy kids you’ve got.” No joke.
He chuckled, “I think our children are about to get in a barrel full of trouble once they meet up. They already seem to like each other. James, he’s a mess. He’s a massive flirt. He reminds of you, James. Well, how you were until Allison. He’s the light in every room he goes in still.”
He continued, “Lexi has her string. He’s pretty damn fast for not being Hood.” I smirked. Bolt huffed, “When will people understand my name is not Bolt for fun? I AM FAST. That’s the point of my name.” I assured him, “I know, buddy.”
I tried my best to give Jordan his privacy, but I could hear him as if he was next to me. After a while Jordan walked over to us. Heath was surprised by how bloodshot and red Jordan’s eyes were, but as someone who could hear every tearful word he said, I was not. Lexi was right. Jordan had needed this. He never truly got to say goodbye to his brother. I couldn't imagine it. I didn’t want to think about Cameron dying. It was horrible.
He mentioned this wasn’t his plan for the evening. He was not alone in that. I had plans that involved our room, nudity and possibly a red paddle. I raised an eyebrow at Heath over the mentioning of going to the Hackura realm. I guess that’s what you miss when you’re unable to get out of bed and face the world.
