I didn’t want to rock the boat, so I said, “That was a nice thing to do.” Heath shrugged admitting, “I thought roles in reverse what would I want in her shoes? I’d want to hear it from her, so I told her.” I squeezed his arm reassuringly.

We walked around the corner and my mouth dried. Chase was in a black slacks and a white t-shirt. I started to think unsexy thoughts. The LAST thing my Luna ceremony needed was for the pack to smell my arousal. Allie gave me a thumbs up. Haley tilted her head and then shrugged. She did the same. I smiled at them both.

Heath led me to Chase and then sat down by Allie. Chase did the ceremony. I couldn’t focus on his words because I wanted to rip his pants off of him right here and now. He asked if I accepted the position of Luna within the pack. I answered, “I do.”

The look in his eyes melted my heart. Chase led the pack in a howl. Everyone started undressing. I heard Eric mutter to Haley, “This is why we do our ceremonies in just jeans.” Haley snorted and snapped him naked. He shifted. She said, “Sometimes I think you just like to insult me. Like I can’t get you naked with a simple snap of my damn fingers.” She climbed on his wolf’s back.

I turned to see Chase had already shifted into Bolt. He looked at Eric and Haley then me with a question clear in his eyes. I could run beside him, but I doubt any Luna who wasn’t a wolf did that. What the heck? When in Rome, do as the Romans do. I jumped on his back. He purred and took off running.

Haley and Eric split off once we reached the border with their territory. We both waved before she was out of sight. I saw Carry and Kincade split off, so I waved at her too. I swear if she could’ve blushed, she would’ve. I saw James’s flirting with a she wolf who’d shifted back to her human self.

I linked Chase, “Who is that my cousin is flirting with?” Chase turned then answered, “Kayla, she’s Kincade and Kevin’s sister. Well, you’ve met all the other brothers too. That’s the older of their sisters. Your cousin might want to watch out. They are protective.”

I saw Kevin go barreling up to James. James put his hands up but winked at Kayla who blushed. Kevin grabbed her hand and walked her away. James winked at me when he met my eye. Jasper sighed, “Come on you flirt. Before you get in any more trouble.” Jasper waved to me and yelled, “LOVELY CEREMONY! CONGRATULATIONS!” James yelled, “WHAT HE SAID!” I laughed.

Chase ran us to the meadow we’d been in before. I got down off him and he shifted back. He looked me up and down. I blatantly stared at his very erect dick. Chase chuckled teasingly asking, “Do you like what you see?” I snorted, “Like what I see? I’ve been trying to think unsexy things since I saw you standing up there on that platform!”

Chase smirked, “I know. I could smell you were turned on.” I flushed admitting, “I was trying to avoid that.” Chase laughed, “We are wolves. It’s natural for us to smell that. We all smell how much Haley wants Eric all the damn time.” I reminded him, “Their pack calls them rabbits.”

Chase dropped to his knees then linked me, “I love this dress, it has great access.” I moaned at his lightly nibbled on my clit through my underwear. I didn’t even care when he tugged on the sides of them and destroyed yet another pair of underwear I owned. His tongue was back on my clit. He slid a finger inside me.

I threw my head back, “Chase….” He made me come then stood. He backed me up against a tree. He lifted the front of my dress and slid slowly into me. I wrapped my legs around him. I clung to him as he brought us both to our release. He slid out of me and ran to grab clothes.

When he came back, he nibbled my ear, “Am I doing better at taking care of your needs, Officer Sexy?” I smirked, “I mean, yes. I only had to help myself twice this week.” Chase growled and grabbed me, falling onto the ground with me on top. He said, “Take what you need then, Officer Sexy. I do want to avoid getting tickets or citations, or goddess above being arrested again.” I smirked, “I will.” We didn’t leave the meadow for hours.

When we got up to leave Chase asked, “Will you ride Bolt again back home? He loved it, and he’s never going to shut up if I don’t ask.” I laughed, “It was fun! So, yes I’ll ride Bolt back home.” He shifted in less than a second. I laughed, “I guess you are excited.” He nodded and knelt down so I could get on.

When we got there Jordan was standing by the front door holding a present. Chase stopped behind a tree. He shifted, grabbed some shorts, put them on, then we walked out together. Jordan held up his hands explaining, “I’m not here to stay or cause a scene. I just came to say congratulations on your ceremony and your pregnancy. My brother would’ve been so proud of you today, Lexi. Well everyday... but…”

I interrupted, “I understand your point. Thank you very much for coming, Jordan. You didn’t have to do this.” I took the gift from him. I could tell it bothered him that I didn’t call him uncle. He started to walk away, but my damn hormones were getting the better of me lately. I would want Emma and Emmett’s kids to get along. I would want their kids to love their Uncle or their Aunt.

I called, “One day, I may call you Uncle. Right now you are a stranger to me, and that’s your all’s fault. For the sake of my father’s memory, and if I’m being honest thinking of my own children and should something like this happen to them one day which I would do everything to stop, I will listen to you when we all meet again.” He stopped and turned to me.

I told him, “I will hear your side. If there’s hope at all that we can build one day to build a bridge to me considering you family, I’ll do it. For my dad and my kids’ sake. It does mean something to me that you showed up today. This was a big moment for me, and I didn’t ask you to be here or tell you about it. Yet you still came. It means something.”

Jordan’s eyes filled with tears, “That’s more than I’d ever hoped for. Thank you, Lexi. You look a lot like your mother, but you have the tender heart James did.” I disagreed, “I don’t have a tender heart.” Chase linked me, “You do.”

Jordan chuckled saying, “You do. It’s just hidden under a few layers that I wish James himself had. He was always a giver. He’d give anyone the shirt off his own back if he thought they needed it. I was meant to be his balance and I failed him. I won’t fail you and Heath ever again. Even if you want nothing to do with me.” He winced in pain.

Then he continued, “Until the day I die, I’ll be watching out for you and your family. With your Hackura guard I guess.” I asked, “My what now?” Jordan laughed looking at Chase, “She doesn’t know?” I turned to my string with a clear question in my eye. He told Jordan, “She didn’t want to know about things involving that dead mother fucker.”

I heard a chuckle, “Lexi Scott, it has been a long time.” I gaped, “Uther?” I ran and hugged him. Chase growled and pulled me back. I sighed and slapped him lightly on the chest, “You hush. He’s like family.” Uther smiled at him. Chase still tightened his arms around me.

I studied Uther surmising, “Titus sent you?” Uther nodded. He said, “I was doing a perimeter sweep when the brownies were delivered. I will be closer next time. I would have been more cautious.” I agreed, “You’re always cautious. You’re a guard down to your very marrow.” Uther smirked, “This is true. See you around, Lexi Scott.” He disappeared into thin air.

Chase commented, “That is both cool and very disturbing.” Jordan snorted, “I wish we could do that too.” I pointed out, “We can run really fast.” Jordan said, “That’s true. We are faster than them.” I smiled, “I’ll talk to Heath. We will get that meeting scheduled with you guys.”

Jordan sheepishly told me, “You might be a bit behind. It’s scheduled for this week I believe. I was out on a mission, but my string texted me about it. With everything happening I think we all need to figure out what we all know.”

I was beginning to curse myself for asking not to be told things. I swallowed that annoyance directed for myself and replied, “Ok. I’ll talk to Heath and ask when the date is. My baby shower is next weekend. I’d like to invite the cousins, but it would probably be best if we met beforehand.”

Jordan smiled saying, “You are so very much like your father, smarter though and more cautious. You are the perfect mix of the two of them. Your parents I mean.” He looked away sadly. I observed him. I was surprised to realize what that look was.

I whispered, “You miss him.” I didn’t mean to say that out loud. Jordan’s eyes snapped to mine. He frowned, “You seem surprised by that. He was my twin. I was at your house more than just that night, but you never saw me. I begged James to let me explain. I always thought it was weird he didn’t. It was very out of character for him.”

Chase shouted, “Son of a bitch!” I turned asking, “What?” He explained, “I think your dad could’ve been under a spell.” Jordan stiffened, “A spell to not listen to me?” Chase explained, “We’ll have to have a call with Haley’s sister-in-law but I think out of everything I’ve heard about James it makes the most sense. Why wouldn’t he trust you, his own twin? Where you there when he got word you’d apparently killed Allison’s sister?”

Jordan answered, “No, none of us were. Oh my god.” Tears filled my eyes. I said, “At least if that’s true I understand why he didn’t listen to you. That’s why he didn’t just run with Heath, mom, and me. He was under a spell.”
