My dad linked me, “I think I hate that pup.” I replied, “That’s not really fair. You liked him just fine before.” My dad answered, “That was before.” My literal thought as I watched my sister, was I would do everything in my power to not have to see my daughter with her mate until she was well past six year old. I don’t care if it was sexist. I wanted my little girl to be my little girl when she was young. I didn’t want to know who was going to take her from me and my pack.

Haley joined and was worried about why we were upset. Alpha Eric linked me, “I don’t have to wonder. One of my warriors linked me when your sister took off for her mate.” I questioned, “Where are you?” Alpha Eric replied, “On my way to you.”

Haley didn't see anything wrong with Susie and Sebastian holding hands. Bolt growled, “HOLDING HANDS?” I whipped my head back to see they were in fact holding hands. Nadine linked me, “She’s happy. Don’t you dare make a scene.” I sighed and bit back my reply as Alpha Eric joined us.

Haley went off about how small soap boxes are. She was a gem for distracting us unknowingly. Matt linked me, “She’s right though soap boxes are too small to stand on.” I rolled my eyes, “I know.” Miley got her off the subject saying Tessa’s fight was up first. Haley popped them all away.

I joined Alpha Eric in growling. Alpha Jackson laughed, “Stop making it so fun for her, big brother.” I growled, “It’s not fun.” Alpha Jackson replied simply, “To her it is.” Alpha Lucas jogged over to join us. He asked, “What’s wrong?” He looked around then added, “Never mind. Haley popped away again, didn’t she?” Alpha Eric nodded.

We all moved inside quickly. I wrapped my arms around Lexi. Having her out of my sight was too hard right now. I nodded to Beta Dylan. I was startled when he called me Alpha Baby Daddy. Bolt grumbled, “I don’t like that. We are her mate, not someone she’s not with.” Matt linked me laughing. I warned him, “Shut it, Mattie.” Matt growled in our link. The tournament kicked off.

I was trying to explain the wolf less rules to Lexi. She was pissed though. A pack could attack us, and we needed to know a wolf less pack member could handle it. I looked over at Alpha Lucas. He seemed to be having the same conversation with his mate. Haley and Alpha Eric popped back to their seats. She said nothing.

Gamma Marshall got things moving and ran back to his seat. His mate, Riley, was waiting for him. The Gamma’s always ran this tournament and had their own seats near the floor to keep everything running smoothly.

None of the non wolves in our group seemed happy except Haley. I linked Alpha Eric, “Can Haley talk to Lexi? Lexi’s pissed about the wolf less rules.” Alpha Eric replied, “Haley’s really pissed off about that too.” I turned my head back.

I frowned pointing out, “She looks fine.” Alpha Eric admitted, “No one can control their face better than my mate. We are in front of our pack, so she won’t give anything away.” It was impressive. I linked him back, “It’s a good thing you can feel her really well.” Alpha Eric snorted, “You’re telling me.”

It was awkward for a little bit. I linked Matt, “Leave it to Beta Dylan to break the tension.” I knew he agreed. Miley was quietly explaining things to Lexi. I knew that Haley Conners was an amazing Luna who matched Alpha Eric perfectly.

Matt linked me, “HE CALLED HIM GAP TO HIS FACE?! I thought it was just our group chat!” I answered, “He says it all the time.” Matt commented, “Crazy man.” Beta Dylan teased both me and Alpha Eric. He was lucky Lexi thought this was funny. I was much more than her baby daddy. She was my everything.

Derrick linked me, “After the comment about her brother, Haley is googling baby daddy. This is too good.” I rolled my eyes. The only thing keeping me from being pissed was I could feel Lexi’s amusement in my chest. She thought the name was funny.

I linked Alpha Eric, “Google is wrong. Lexi is not some random woman carrying my pups. She’s my mate.” Alpha Eric replied, “I know.” The women started cheering on Tessa. Matt linked me, “I’m with Beta Dylan. His show IS fun.” I growled.

Dylan’s mate lost it. She growled and straddled him. Derrick linked me, “What just happened?” I answered, “I actually know this one. Tessa used to like Beta Dylan.” Derrick replied, “Got it.” I linked Alpha Eric, “The Princess of the Hackura trains your she wolves?” Alpha Eric smirked, “My Angel offers classes twice a month with Molly. Anyone is welcome to join male or female.” I pushed my luck, “Can my wolf’s get in on that action?” Alpha Eric snorted, “I’m sure they could.”

Haley introduced Lexi, Ted, and Sally to the other Conner’s brother’s Luna’s. I turned sharply to Lexi when her icy tone was aimed at Luna Jessica. Matt linked me, “I think we missed a cat fight. Beta Dylan IS right. This is the best show ever. These tournaments are usually SO boring to attend.”

I pointed out, “This is the first female warrior tournament.” Matt retorted, “Tournaments get boring. This is far from that.” Lexi didn’t seem to realize that usually all Cassandra’s daughter in laws were her mouthpiece. No one dared comment on it though. Well apparently nobody except my mate.

My dad linked me, “I love her. Nadine said it went DOWN the other night.” I questioned, “Over what?” My dad’s lips twitch, “King Aiden Holloran and his relationship to Haley.” I blinked in surprise. Bolt asked, “Why would…? Am I the only one confused.” I answered, “No, that makes no sense.”

Haley was clearly confused about what was going on between Lexi and Jessica. King Aiden must have been around because he popped in. I linked Alpha Eric, “What are they saying?” Alpha Eric interpreted, “He got some supplies faster than he thought. He wants Haley to ask Lexi for help with one of them.” I knew they would. I replied, “She’ll do it.” Alpha Eric said, “It’s the Angel piece he needs. Haley agreed to ask her next week.”

A string of curse words filled all my links. Matt linked, “What the hell is wrong with you?” I growled, “Alpha Eric speaks Fealish. King Aiden wants Lexi’s help to expedite the Angel supplies he needs.” Matt groaned, “Ohhh….” I growled, “Yes, oh.”

Before he left, King Aiden welcomed us all to the correct century and threw a wink my way before popping out. I linked Matt and Derrick, “THAT WINKING SON OF A BITCH!” Matt gently said, “Let’s just remember this takes a knife that wants to kill you out of existence.”

I growled, “Only Haley and Aiden can touch it right now. We can fucking wait. I don’t want Raphael near her!” Matt pointed out, “He doesn't have to be near her, just communicated with.” I growled again. Beta Dylan asked Haley to bring her brother back. She told him he had things to do. I growled, “What things? He’s getting my mate to do things for him!” Derrick speculated, “He is a King, so he probably is busy….” He trailed off when he noticed my glare. He backtracked, “Never mind.”

Dylan brought the conversation back to Luna Jessica and Lexi’s talk. I linked Matt, “Is Beta Dylan insane?” Matt answered, “No, he’s just addicted to drama.” I pointed out, “Alpha Eric looks murderous.” Matt commented, “I see that.”

Jessica couldn’t seem to figure out how to word her answer. I linked Matt, “Damn it! Now I want to know the end of the sentence.” Matt chuckled, “You and everyone else.” Beta Jim appeared and nodded to Alpha Eric, who didn’t see him because he was staring daggers at his brother and Luna Jessica. Haley’s friend won her fight, which didn’t surprise me. I’d be surprised if she didn’t win the whole thing. I’d have to see some more competitors, but Tessa was my guess for the winner.

No one spoke as the next fight started. For some reason Luna Jessica finally answered Beta Dylan. Alpha Eric turned to give Jessica his full attention. He was giving her a look that had her shrinking back. I looked at Haley who was staring at Lexi. Then she turned and focused on the tournament.

Beta Dylan pushed the conversation. I linked Matt, “Death wish. Beta Dylan has a death wish.” Matt sounded speculative, “I don’t think so. I think he’s protecting Haley by letting Alpha Eric know where his family stands in the most Beta Dylan way.” I thought about it then conceded that could be it.

Jessica kept answering Beta Dylan. To be honest, people usually did. He had a friendly countenance that made people feel like they could tell him anything. I couldn’t stop my mouth from dropping given her answers.

I linked Matt, “I don’t have any reports that say Haley Conners is rude to Cassandra.” Matt answered, “Because she’s not. Cassandra is the one who’s rude.” Eric growled at Jessica and Prince Bjourn and Prince Marcus’ eyes blazed gold. That surprised me. I didn’t think they would care about Haley’s feelings toward the Fairy King.

Lexi explained their reaction was because Haley was angry. Damn. We needed to teach Haley how to play poker. I linked Matt, “Beta Dylan knows his request is unlikely. If Alpha Eric gets his way this will be handled in their house where no one can hear them.” Matt warned me, “The way Luna Jessica is looking I doubt it will happen in house.”

Beta Dylan announced he was team Lexi. Matt agreed, “I’m with him. Team Lexi.” I scoffed, “She’s your Luna. You’re always team Lexi.” Matt shrugged. The second the first round was over, Lexi was up out of her chair and told Haley to pop them somewhere. I growled, “NO!” But they were already gone.
