Bolt purred, “Mate is going to be an amazing Luna. She recognized she couldn’t be rational about the entire situation because it is still raw.” I agreed. Matt linked me, “She’s very mature. She’ll be a great Luna.” I couldn’t hide the pride in my tone in my response, “I know.”

We got popped home. My dad shot me a look full of questions. I linked him, “Sophia. You missed Sophia. Heath needs a drink.” My dad replied, “I’m way ahead of you.” Haley told Heath she’d send him her brother's boytoy lover. I looked at Matt confused, but he didn’t give me information.

I linked Alpha Eric, “Is he a boytoy or a lover?” Alpha Eric chuckled, “Lord almighty don’t ask. Just accept that that’s what Haley calls Gunner. He was the man with her brother Harper, who helped save Sophia’s life at the meeting.” I replied, “Got it.”

Everyone went home that didn’t live here. I begrudgingly let Lexi go so she could walk Heath out. We all heard them talking. We were going to the Shroud tomorrow. Matt linked, “I’m confused. Why would she want to go have lunch if they aren’t talking about his mate being Sophia?” I replied, “I don’t care. I will be where she wants me to.” He nodded.

Lexi wanted to go for a walk. She said she had something she wanted to talk to me about, but the timing hadn’t worked out. Seeing as we hadn’t seen each other for four days, timing not working out were words one would use.

Bolt linked, “She found out in Faerie something about not feeling well? What does that mean?” Oh god was there some fairy after effect she couldn't handle? Was she sick? Haley had healed her tonight though surely that fixed it. Haley could heal gunshot wound and she’d brought Lexi back from certain death.

Bolt linked again, “Mate is smiling it can’t be bad then, right? One does not smile delivering bad news.” He was right about that. Her eyes sparkled as she grabbed my hand. She placed it on her stomach. My brain registered a bump. She had a bump.

Bolt practically did a back flipped in my head. Wait, WHAT?! I looked up into her eyes. I couldn’t hide my shock. Birth Control. She was on birth control. She told me there was a longer explanation, but she was pregnant with twins.

Bolt shouted, “WHAT?! TWINS?! PUPS! WE ARE HAVING PUPS WITH MATE!” He took over and howled in joy. The pack link was going crazy. Matt linked me, “What was that? I mean I know it was you? But what was that? Lexi already forgave you what are you so happy about now?”

Derrick linked me, “Chase, what’s happening?” Cameron linked, “Uhh Chase? What the hell? You already made up with Lexi? What’s with the happy howl?” I couldn’t reply to any of them. I sank to my knees to speak to my pups. My little girl was in there with my son.

It was official I was going to be their mother’s permanent shadow. I’d protect my family especially while Noah lurked in the shadows waiting for his moment. My dad linked me, “Are you going to answer anyone about what the hell just happened? Because everyone said you haven’t answered. Happy howls get answers.” Not tonight they didn’t.

I picked Lexi up and ran her back to the house, and straight past the questioning eyes in the front main hall. I blocked everyone from my link. I quickly pulled Lexi’s dress off her head. I kissed her stomach and trailed my lips up to her mouth. I kissed her fiercely. I linked her, “You have no idea how much I missed you.” She replied, “I missed you too.”

I pulled back and smiled. I realized, “That’s how you got the hang of linking so quickly. You must have gotten pregnant the night I marked you. The pups are how you have no trouble.” She smiled, “You seem really happy about them.” I kissed her again.

I blew on her mark, “I am so happy about them that happy doesn’t seem like the right word. Ecstatic. I am so happy you came back to me.” She arched up into me as I lightly bit her mark. She screamed my name as she came, “CHASE!”

Matt pried our link open, “Seriously? I don’t get to know what the happy howl was AND we can all hear her screams again.” I closed my link. I felt him prying it back open to yell, “REALLY CHASE?” I told Bolt, “Shut them all out. We are celebrating our pups and making our mate feel like the Queen she is.” Bolt snorted, “With pleasure.” He put up mental blocks stronger than mine. I could feel the tugs, but they couldn’t get through.

I kissed down Lexi’s chest and took her nipple into my mouth. I slid a finger in between her thighs. I chuckled, “Always so wet.” She whimpered. I brushed my thumb across her clit and her hips shot off the bed. I lightly bit her nipple. She gasped. I pumped my hand faster and faster until she came apart again.

I flipped her onto all fours, spanked her and thrust into her in one quick move. She gripped the sheets screaming, “GOD, YES!” I smirked and slowly slid back out and in. I teased, “Like this?” Lexi groaned, “Chase please…. faster.” I chuckled and went a little faster. She begged, “Faster.” I gripped her hips and pounded into her. I growled, “Like this?” She was panting, “Yes, please!”

I linked her, “Whatever my mate and mother of my pups wants.” I pounded into her from behind. I took her in so many positions I lost count. When we finally stopped, we both fell asleep the second our heads hit the pillow.

My eyes snapped open when I heard pups laughing outside. I got up and saw Susie was playing with Sebastian Kyle and her friends. Lexi sighed and I got back into bed with her. Suddenly she threw back the covers and ran into the bathroom.

For a minute I didn’t know what to do. I followed her and held her hair back as she got sick. She brushed her teeth and crawled back to bed groaning. I asked, “What’s wrong?” She tried to get into a comfortable position then explained, “I’m just uncomfortable.”

Her phone rang. She looked at it then answered, “Haley?” Haley greeted her, “Hey Lex, umm can we talk about what my healing will do about... umm... shit... stuff?” I snorted. Lexi said, “Chase knows, Hales. I told him about the twins last night.”

Haley sighed in relief, “Awesome. By the way he’ll say pups. It’s a little fucking weird, but what can you do? Anyway, my healing will shorten your pregnancy. Especially since I’ve had to heal you twice now. You’ll be a little uncomfortable as they get bigger over the next few days.”

I had to ask, “How much shorter?” Haley said, “Well hello, Chase. Good fucking morning to you too. I don’t know the exact answer to your question. Your pack OB should know based on the size. Eric said the only other wolf/Hood pairings are Ted, Matt, Sally, and Derrick. So, no one knows how long that pregnancy will be either. Well again the pack OB might know.”

I admitted, “I don’t know what they estimated Sally’s due date at.” Lexi said, “I know at most it would be five months.” Haley said, “Soooo we can all agree yours will be shorter than five months.” I smiled admitting, “Shorter is fine by me.”

Lexi groaned, “We don’t have anything ready yet, Chase.” Haley said, “If only you knew someone who could snap you every damn thing you wanted.” Lexi laughed, “If only.” Haley squealed, “OHHHH you need a Pinterest board! IT’S AFUCKINGMAZING! PLEASE! Then I could snap everything you wanted from the pins! I pin things now, Lexi. It’s so much fucking fun!” Goddess help us all.

Lexi laughed, “I’ll get a nursery Pinterest board going for you and me.” Haley squealed, “YAY!” I heard Alpha Eric say, “Angel, hang up the phone if you don’t want them to hear what I’m about to do to you.” Haley gasped, “EERRICC!” He laughed, “You shouldn’t have jumped up and down naked. Really this one is on you.” Lexi teased, “Goodbye my little rabbit.” Haley said, “I’m a Fairy Hackura. You got a rabbit?” Alpha Eric snorted, “Goodbye Lexi and Alpha Chase. Congratulations. For the record this is why unmated women can’t touch you lest she be in pain. Goodbye.” The phone call ended.

I blinked. What? Since when did that happen to pregnant mates?! Lexi raised an eyebrow. I told her, “I can’t even say I blame him. She did jump up and down naked. That gives one ideas.” Lexi wiggled her eyebrows, “Neither can I.” I slid on top of her.

My door opened and we both heard Susie squeal, “CHASE, LEXI GET UP!” Lexi grabbed for the covers and we managed to pull up the sheet before Susie slid to a stop. Sebastian was turned around in the doorway, but the tips of his ears were beat red.

Nadine ran into the room, “Susie! You can’t just come into their room without knocking!” Susie pouted, “Oh come on! Breakfast is ready and they have to come down! They haven’t been to breakfast in DAYS.” Lexi laughed, “We’ll be right down. I promise.” Susie nodded, “Ok, but I’m coming back in five minutes if you aren’t.” I laughed, “We’ll be down in time, Susie.” Nadine mouthed, “I’m so sorry.” I shrugged and they left.

I sighed, “I guess we are getting ready.” Lexi nodded. She ran into the closet and came back in leggings and my hoodie. I kissed her on the forehead, “I missed seeing you in my clothes.” Lexi smiled, “Haley conjured me your clothes to wear. I was in them the whole time I was gone.” I laughed, “Of course she did.” Lexi said, “It was comforting.” I hugged her, “I’m glad.”
