I shrugged, “I don’t care. That woman is a snake in the grass. She says her nasty comments trying to pick at Haley until she conforms to her will. I won’t have it! We spent YEARS undoing that type of shit on her from the fairies. Or did you forget that?”

All their eyes blazed gold. Bjourn answered, “No, we did not forget.” I countered, “Then act like it. Cassandra disrespects your sister with almost every sentence out of her mouth regarding Haley. Put that bitch in fucking line. Because Haley would do it for each and every one of you. Even Gunner, though she’d call him Harper’s boytoy lover.”

With that I turned to leave. Bjourn caught my arm. Drake chimed in, “We just know Haley wants to like Cassandra. We’d make it worse.” I sighed, “I know she does. It hurts her that she doesn’t like Cassandra.” Evin frowned, “Haley said she loves her, and she cannot lie.”

I explained, “She loves Cassandra because Eric came from her. Haley has been keeping her damn garden alive, so she’ll spend time outside away from her. She pretends to be asleep if they walk into the room because Eric gets upset that she pops out to her treehouse. That woman makes her feel uncomfortable in her own home because she can’t handle that there’s a new Queen Bee in the hive. I won’t be nice to her.”

Bjourn said, “Alright.” I asked, “That’s it? Just alright?” Ubbe countered, “What else can we say? You are right. We have been passive about the disrespect thinking it would make things easier for Haley. That does not appear to be the case.”

I took pity on them and broke it down, “You know how she is about mother figures. That makes what Cassandra did even more awful. She dangled that type of relationship in front of Haley and took it away. At least with the fairy’s Haley knew what they were. They didn’t claim to be the nicest people then abuse her. They told her they hated her. Cassandra’s worse than they are. She’s a two faced, manipulative, bitch.”

Bjourn said, “She’s never harmed Haley physically.” I nodded, “I know that. She’d be dead if she had.” Harper agreed, “Yes, she would be.” I touched Bjourn’s shoulder, “Look, I know why you backed off. I’m just saying I’m not letting that manipulative woman bring a different version of Haley out.”

Bjourn said, “Neither will we. I won’t have my sister change because of someone else’s expectation. She is who she is.” I was relieved, “Thank you.” Bjourn asked, “Are you alright?” I answered, “I’m fine. Why?” Bjourn evaluated me, “If you’re sure.” I nodded.

Gunner said, “I’m sure she’s fine. That’s a mean right hook you’ve got, BA. I know who the cross was from. Who was the hook?” I laughed, “My brother taught me well.” He laughed, “I should’ve known that.”

Haley popped into the room. I teased her, “You have sex hair.” Haley snapped and her hair was perfect again. Haley asked, “Why are we having secret meetings in a boardroom?” Eric came into the room and grabbed Haley. He growled in her ear, “Stop doing that, my Angel. You’re going to be in so much trouble later.” Haley giggled.

I wished Chase was here. Bjourn crossed his arms, “You told BA more about your mother-in-law than you told us, little one.” I winked at Gunner then said, “It’s in our DNA, guys. We share more with other women.” Haley asked, “Is it really?” The Cambridge boys shot me a look while Eric snorted.

I answered, “Yes, it is.” Haley grinned, “Then you guys can’t possibly be upset with me.” They all rolled their eye and I grinned at them. Eric gently asked, “Why didn’t you tell me, Angel?” Haley sighed, “Do we need to do this at the party? Let’s just have fun.”

Aiden walked in smiling with a baby in his arms. He announced, “Looked who popped into the party. He’s quite the hit.” Haley paled, “Alexander!” The baby giggled at her. Haley snatched him out of Aiden’s arms. Aiden assured her, “I had him, little sister. He was perfectly safe.” Haley whispered, “I know.” It wasn’t him she was worried about, and he knew it.

Aiden touched her arm, “One day they will all come here. I know you fear that day, but I swear to you I will keep them safe. They are safe here, and so are you.” Bjourn said, “If only you could’ve managed that when she was a child incapable of protecting herself.” Aiden turned red, “I wish I could say you are wrong, but you are right.”

A portal opened and Titus stepped through. He looked at Haley then at Alexander. He said, “You little sneak, back to bed with you Alexander. Don’t worry Princess, the other two are still out. I don’t think you’ll be seeing them tonight.” He took Alexander. Eric ordered, “Alexander, no more popping tonight.” Alexander made a face, but I swear he nodded. He was protective of his momma. As he should be. Maybe he’d use his powers on Cassandra. I’d pay to see that.

We started to leave the room. I grabbed Haley’s hand, “Are you ok?” Haley admitted, “It scares the shit out of me, but Aiden’s right.” Aiden said, “Hmm… Did your big brother hear that right?” Bjourn warned, “Watch it Fairy King, I can still kill you.” Aiden scoffed, “Boring!” I laughed, “Dylan will be so upset he missed that.”

Dylan zipped in front of me, “Dylan did not miss it, I am everywhere.” Eric groaned, “Dear goddess, why me?” Dylan said, “Because you are the God Alpha Prick. That’s why.” I laughed. We walked back in when everyone started counting down. I grabbed Haley, “I’m going back home after the countdown. Have fun with your wolf.” She winked at me, “Have fun with your man lover friend.” Eric winced.

Dylan preened, “I LOVE MY LIFE! LACY FROST WHERE ARE YOU? My lips need some sugar.” Lacy giggled and made her way to Dylan. He put his hand on her stomach, cradling her little bump. As the count got to one every kissed.

Exsis popped to me, “Are you interested in a kiss, BA?” I replied, “Not from you. Nice timing though. Pop me to my place, please.” Exsis popped me outside my house and popped away before I could thank him. I walked inside and put away my BA mask.

I made my way across the way to the party. Nerves filled me. Would Chase be happy about the babies? I touched my stomach and whispered, “Mommy loves you two. I’m sure Daddy will be excited about you. It’s just a surprise.” I took a deep breath and walked inside.

Everyone gasped when they saw me. I continued further into the house. Kincade smirked at me and pointed to where Chase was. I smiled when I spotted him. His eyes were closed. He looked exhausted and worried. His eyes snapped open, and he walked over to me. He kissed me. Howls and cheering erupted throughout the room. I smiled knowing I was home here.

Chase dragged me to the kitchen. I immediately started eating. I was suddenly starving. Oh god. I really had to tell him about the babies. I started to when Ted walked in. I guess this wasn’t the right moment. Ted wanted details, but I couldn’t tell him here because it was going to get around that BA fought Cassandra Conners. I didn’t need any more people knowing that was me.

I led him back to the living room when people began to count down. I smiled at Sally and Ted. Then I looked at Chase. I belonged here. We kissed at midnight. Chase immediately led us upstairs. He disappeared under my dress. I felt his mouth on me. He linked me, “You’re so wet for me, Sweetheart.”

I pleaded, “Chase….” He made me come quickly. He came back out from under my dress and lifted it up. He had me facing the wall. He gripped my hands in his and slid into me. He growled, “MINE!” I agreed, “Yours.” I came screaming his name. Chase was far from done with me. He took me out of my dress and made love to me until well into the morning hours.

I woke up to a light kiss on my lips, so I opened my eyes. Chase whispered, “Go back to sleep, Sweetheart. I have to get to my meeting with your little sister.” I smiled, “I told her about us.” Chase said, “Ok. Do you want me to tell her you said hi?” I laughed, “That would be one way of telling everyone we’ve met. Beta Dylan is perceptive.”

Chase frowned, “What do you mean?” I answered, “He knows I’m BA.” Chase said, “I’ll talk to him.” I assured him, “It’s fine. He won’t say anything.” Chase said, “I’ll make sure he won’t.” I laughed, “Don’t hurt him. He’s fun.” Chase said, “I have no intention of hurting him.”

I warned, “It’s going to get messy today. Something’s up with Haley. Her eyes keep changing colors, I think it’s bad. Haley said no one would leave until everything was resolved. I wouldn’t be surprised if she didn't lock you all in a room. Like fairy lock you in.” Chase chuckled, “I’ll live.” He kissed me again, “I’ve got to get moving.” I nodded. He left and I went back to sleep.

I woke up a little bit later, stretched, and got dressed. I walked downstairs. I found Sally in the kitchen. I ate so much food. Sally laughed, “Hey Slugger.” I asked, “Does everyone know already?” Sally nodded, “Oh yeah. Like EVERYONE. Fairies don’t keep entertaining secrets like BA fighting Cassandra Conners.” I smirked.

They were keeping a much more important secret probably because Haley ordered them too. My eyes widened. Did Exsis have to tell my brother I was pregnant? I checked my phone, but I had nothing from Heath. I breathed a sigh of relief. I told Sally, “I’m going to run to the office just to grab a few things. I’ll be back.” Sally said, “Roger.” I flashed out then I decided to run to the office.

I had done a few things when the phone rang. I picked it up, “Bull’s Eye…” The voice cut me off, “Oh thank god you answered. I’ve been calling and calling.” I asked, “Can I help you?” The caller replied, “Are you Lexi Scott?” I answered, “I am. Who is this?” She replied, “I’m Opal. I’m the former Beta’s wife of Alpha Sophia’s pack. My stepson is the current Beta.”
