Alpha Kyle and Beta McAlister walked up. Alpha Kyle said, “We heard possible war talks. What happened?” I said, “On top of them being sexist bigots? The packs of Louisiana don’t think Alpha’s should allow women out of the kitchen or let their pack members love who they love. They also aren’t too keen on non wolves in positions of power within the pack.”

Eric growled, “They said that?” Alpha Jackson appeared and gripped Eric’s shoulder. I said, “They did say that. My dad and Heath can back me up.” My dad raised a glass towards us and wrapped his arm around Nadine. Susie was talking animatedly to Sebastian about the challenges today. He was eating up every word. Jackson linked, “Change the subject before Eric actually declares war. Dylan’s not here and his anger is kind of your fault.” I winked at him.

I commented, “Alpha Kyle, your son is whipped by my six-year-old little sister.” Alpha Kyle snorted, “If I don’t hear ‘Can I go see Susie?’ At least sixteen times a day, I worry he caught a bus to go see her himself or something.” I rolled my eyes. Great.

Beta McAlister said, “He’s not kidding, we've actually checked a couple of times. It turned out he stopped asking because they were on the phone.” I said, “So, everyone heard about my Valentine's day. Tell me the rest of you have had better days that include your mate.”

Alpha Jackson snorted, “Eric’s Haley’s goddamn Valentine.” Eric smirked. I asked, “What now?” Eric smiled, “After the whole day Haley had set up, we ended up in the gym. I brought up the conversation before she got her wings that I did not care for. She got mad, then I got mad. We sparred a bit, not to hurt each other.” He added absentmindedly, “I could never hurt her.” All of us knew that.

He shrugged, “We were mostly wrestling, tumbling around on the mats. She tackled me and her anger morphed into something else, and she said I was her goddamn valentine.” Alpha Jackson said, “I had to clear the gym. Again. You do know Eric that our gym is several floors. It’s a process. Caleb had to run over to help.” Eric said, “And I love you for it, brother.” Alpha Jackson snorted.

I asked, “Where did Molly run off to?” Alpha Jackson answered, “Talking to her mother and Jenna. She’s getting the play by play of Oscar’s fight today.” I nodded, “Fair enough.” Peter and Drake walked up to our group.

Drake inclined his head, “There’s trouble over there.” We turned noticing our mates all talking. Peter said, “Haley did her space unheard chant, that I despise.” Drake laughed, “You just want to know if our mates our pregnant.” I chuckled, “So, they did send you into heat? Aiden warned us after you left.”

Alpha Kyle laughed, “Did they ever. It’s a good thing that their pups can conjure what they need and what the other babies need.” Alpha Eric said, “And Ray was there.” Alpha Kyle agreed, “Ray was there. I think he enjoyed getting to hold Elise and feed her.” Eric commented, “Ray loves pups.”

Ray’s mate and family had been killed. He was actually from Florida but moved up here to start fresh. His story was quite sad, but now it appeared he was guarding Elise for EJ Conners. Which was news because I’d heard Eric had him in mind to guard Haley. EJ being mated so young must have changed things for him.

Chelsea and Sam ran up to our group. Drake asked, “And? What did the Princess say?” Sam squealed, “We are having another pup!” Drake grabbed her and twirled her around. Peter asked, “Sugar baby momma?” Chelsea laughed, “Double, double toil and trouble, Peter Kyle.” Peter gaped, “I’m sorry. Do you mean we are having twins?” Chelsea nodded and he twirled her around next. I smiled, “Congratulations you two.”

Alpha Kyle’s mate, Luna Marissa asked, “What about me?” Chelsea smiled, “Just the one for you guys.” Alpha Kyle looked like a proud peacock as he kissed Luna Marissa. She wiped happy tears away. Beta Esther McAlister asked, “What about us? It didn’t happen, did it? I just knew it.” Beta McAlister squeezed her.

Sam laughed, “It happened double for you too.” Beta Female Esther squealed, “Twins?” Sam nodded, “According to the Fairy Hackura Princess herself.” Beta Female Esther kissed a stunned Beta McAlister. All the men shook Eric’s hand. Cameron linked me, “They just spread the pups around, don’t they?” I smiled, “It certainly would appear that they do.”

Jim joined us after a minute and said, “I’m going to ask my pretty lady to dance. Is anyone going to join me?” Eric, Alpha Lucas, Jim, and I walked over and asked the girls to dance. Haley declined first and the rest followed. I left, frowning.

I questioned Eric, “Is Haley pissed at you or something? I was hoping to spend some of Valentine's Day with Lexi.” Eric answered, “Not that I know of or feel in our bond. Besides, Lexi crossed her arms. In my experience that’s their sign for no. She didn’t want to dance so Haley declined.” I frowned, “Her back must still be hurting her.”

I watched her seeing the moment Haley granted her calm. The pained look disappeared around her eyes. Haley popped her over to me and they asked us to dance. I just held her in my arms shuffling back and forth. I didn’t want to overexert her.

She declined my offer to sit with me after our dance far too quickly. Something was definitely up. Haley popped to us after the song was over. Stunning me and pack members when she mischievously called Lexi hers. Eric snorted and I just stood there stunned.

I turned to Eric, “How do you deal with all her mischievousness?” Eric smiled, “I love it. It’s fun and it CERTAINLY has its rewards.” I laughed, “You know she likes it, right?” Eric chuckled, “I’m fully aware she enjoys it when I punish her. I just don’t let her know that I know that she enjoys it.”

I laughed, “You two really are made for each other.” Matt came over and we toasted him before he and Ted left. He and I took three shots of whiskey together. I said, “I couldn’t be happier for you, man.” Matt nudged me saying, “You’re next.” I smiled musing, “I can’t believe all three of us are going to be married with pups here soon.” Matt said, “The Moon Goddess just lines everything up and knocks it out of the park.” I laughed, “She sure does.

After they left me, I sat around with the guys talking and drinking. Miley walked over teasing, “Ohhhh Alpha’s, your mates have popped away again. You guys are such slackers. You didn’t even notice. They will be so sad.” I looked over and growled.

I asked, “Where did they go?” Eric said, “I can feel them. Come on.” Miley laughed, “You poor saps just have no idea.” Jim looked at her, “You’ve been tormenting me in this dress.” Miley gasped, “This old thing? Never.” Jim growled and dragged her away.

Eric stiffened when we got outside. He said, “They are in the hospital.” I growled, “I knew her back was hurting more than she was letting on. I should’ve gotten her to the hospital earlier. Damn it!” Eric said, “I told Haley we were on the way.”

I ran into the room. Next time she got pregnant there was no lifting! I’d hire people to follow her around. Hell, I’d carry her everywhere. There would not even be walking. Haley left to get Heath. My mate was hurt so badly she needed her brother? She was not allowed to move anything from the moment she tells me she’s pregnant from now on.

I about fell over when Lexi told me the twins were coming. Coming? What? Now?! I took in her state. Dr April was between her legs, and she was in stirrups. My ears were buzzing when Dr April said it was time to push. Holy shit. I was about to become a dad.

I linked my dad and Cameron, “Get over to the hospital discreetly with the family. The twins are about to arrive.” My dad linked, “ARE YOU SERIOUS? Damn it. I knew she was acting squirrelly with her friends. I let it go, and I knew it shouldn’t have. I’m disappointed in myself.” I said, “I’m dead serious. Get over here to meet your grandpups.” Lexi gripped my hand and started to push our pups into the world.

I kissed her head, “You’ve got this, Sweetheart.” Dr April was counting to ten. Lexi relaxed then Dr April instructed, “Push again.” A couple of nurses came in. Dr April instructed, “I need a big push, Luna.” Lexi stared at her then asked “What were the other pushes? PRACTICE?!”

Dr April smirked, “Just give me another big push.” Dr April lowered her voice and said, “Then we do it again.” I bit my lip. I encouraged her, “Come on Sweetheart, let’s meet our pups.” She gripped my hand and yelled as she pushed. Dr April announced, “And... it’s a boy. Congratulations, Alpha, and Luna. The future Alpha is here.” Lexi cried, “Emmett? It’s Emmett? Can I see him?” The nurses took him and cleaned him off, then handed him to me.

I cried looking at the perfect little guy. I said, “Hello little man.” Bolt came forward to get our pup’s scent. Emmett moved his head a little. I leaned down and placed him on Lexi’s chest. Emmett nuzzled in immediately. She cooed, “Hi, little man.”

After a few minutes, her face scrunched up in pain. Dr April said, “The little Luna isn’t quite ready yet.” Lexi groaned, “Of course not.” Dr April said, “If you plan to breastfeed that could speed the contractions and little Luna along.” Lexi said, “I was planning to try it out.”

Dr April came over and undid her gown. I bit back my growl because it was not the time. She walked her through it, but it wasn’t necessary. Emmett latched on like a pro. When he was done Lexi’s face was telling me she was in a lot of pain. She rocked Emmett back and forth.
