Haley popped back to us. She said, “Hormones really are a bitch.” I hugged her. I brought Emmaline into our hug. I asked her, “Do you have any idea what you gave to us back there? You’re amazing.” Haley blushed and sat down. She said, “We are all afuckingmazing.”

After we ate Haley led us to a room where we got to pick out dresses. I actually found a black and green dress. It was black lace off the shoulder up top, and the bottom flared out into a beautiful green. I put it on.

Haley squealed, “BITCH BACK THE FUCK UP! LEXI SCOTT PICKED A DRESS WITH A COLOR OTHER THAN JUST BLACK! I JUST FUCKING DIED!” Molly snorted. Miley didn’t bother hiding her laughter.

I teased, “Well you’re in a pink dress with a slit up your thigh. I’m not shocked at all.” Haley stuck her tongue out. I laughed. A male fairy spoke, “Princess, this has been delightful. I have not left the castle in centuries. I’d forgotten the wonders of traveling realms.”

Haley smiled, “Everyone this is Gerdest! He’s fucking amazing. Susie you’re up first! Your mom told me you’re leaving us after this.” Susie blushed, “I guess. Do you think I could get more of that ice cream?” Haley said, “You sure can! I’ll snap you some before you leave.”

Susie walked up to the platform and talked to Gerdest. He began to use his magic to make her shoes. It was different than when Haley snapped my shoes. He wielded his magic to do it. Susie came off the platform with the cutest little heels.

Ted screamed, “BEST BACHELOR/BACHELORETTE PARTY EVER!” Haley gasped, “Really? Is he fucking serious?” Gerdest laughed. Ted answered, “I’m so fucking serious.” Haley clapped, “Google said my ideas were good.” I laughed. I couldn’t help it. She was adorable.

Torvi walked in, “I hear we have a little girl who needs to go home.” Susie nodded. Haley snapped her some ice cream. Torvi held out her hand, “Come on, I’ll create you a portal. Haley doesn’t want you to leave without your goodie bag.” Susie gasped, “There’s a good bag?” Torvi nudged her, “Is there ever and you have a special one.” Susie giggled and walked out.

Haley told me to go next. I walked up on the platform. Gerdest smiled, “The Princesses’ first real friend.” I tilted my head, “How did you know that?” Gerdest said, “The King has very thorough files. Yours is extensive, Lexi Scott.” I rolled my eyes.

Gerdest smiled softly, “He regrets his youth very much. He makes up for it now by trying to protect her. Which means protecting you.” I was baffled, “You think Aiden is protecting me?” Gerdest replied, “Based on the file, I know he’s trying.” I nodded, “Interesting.”

Gerdest ordered, “Tell me about yourself.” I shot back, “What do you know? I’ll fill in the gaps.” Gerdest laughed, “Your favorite color is black. You are fiercely loyal and a good fighter. When those you love are hurt you are lethal…”

I interrupted, “That about sums me up.” Gerdest laughed. His magic began to swirl. I gasped when he finished because these shoes were beautiful. They were black satin with beads, stilettos with an open toe. I said wondrously, “I love them.” Gerdest responded, “It’s what I do. Take these to the Princess would you my dear?” He handed me pink shoes with a gold heel. They had vines and flowers coming off them.

I warned, “She’s going to scream so loud you know that, right?” Gerdest smiled, “Such a stark change from the girl who used to apologize for casting a shadow, is it not?” I agreed, “It is.” He winked, “Well, her brother did not believe she would think she would get a turn again today. He showed me the dress she would likely choose. The King was right.”

It was my turn to be surprised. Aiden was taking things to a whole other level. I walked down as Ted went up and sat down. Gerdest said, “Ahhh the man of the hour, TeleTed.” I walked over to Haley and Emmaline. I said, “Gerdest told me to give you these.” I held up her shoes.

Haley squealed, “ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS! Gerdest! I love them!” Gerdest laughed. I said, “It seems Aiden showed him the dress you’d likely pick out. I can’t help but notice the shoes match perfectly.” Haley smiled, “He’s a really good brother.” I agreed, “He is. Tell him that on occasion.”

Haley smiled, “I do. I told him I loved him the other day, and he damn near fell over.” I muttered, “He would.” Lacy walked over to Emmaline. Emmaline frowned, “Are you ok?” Lacy breathed slowly then announced, “I think I’m in labor.”

Haley clapped, “OHHHH my friend Dylan is going to be a dad!” Lacy laughed, “He’ll be the best dad.” Emmaline admitted, “No one would disagree with that. He’s a big kid himself. What are you going to do with two kids?” Lacy laughed then groaned.

Haley said, “Why don’t I pop…?” She trailed off. Emmaline asked, “Haley?” My phone rang and I picked it up, for some reason putting it on speaker. Before I could say anything we all heard, “Hello Lexi.” Everyone paused.

I was stunned, “Noah?” Noah taunted, “Do you want to hear your wolf die? I told you I’d punish you.” I screamed, “What?” I heard a shot then Haley screamed in pain and hit the floor. My eyes widened. I got down on the ground next to her. She was clutching her chest. What happened?

Noah hissed, “You shot the wrong damn person!” I heard a person reply, “He dove on top of him! That wasn’t my fault!” I hung up. I heard three pops. Emmaline said, “We don’t know what’s wrong with mommy….”

Haley ordered, “Stay!” A glow left her hands to her children. They all frowned, and Cassie began to cry. Haley stood, “Stay until daddy feels better. Mommy is going to fix it.” The blood drained from my face as Haley’s eyes began to glow. I whispered, “Haley….” She ordered, “Preggos stay here.” Then she was gone in the next second.

I comforted myself knowing that Haley was with Chase, and she wouldn’t let anything happen to him. The triplets began to wail. Emmaline was crying too. I began asking questions, “What does that mean? Why are they wailing right now?”

Emmaline answered, “I think…. I think it means Eric is dying.” I yelled, “No! NO! EJ, Cassie, and Alexander you listen to me, your mom is not going to let your dad die. He’s hurting right now, but she will fix it.”

After the longest thirty minutes of my entire life, the triplets popped out. Ted groaned, “Fuck! My kids will do that.” I agreed, “They will but they won’t have a Hackura bond to know when something is wrong.” I took a deep breath and ordered, “Everyone cover your ears.” They did. I screamed at the top of my lungs, “WE NEED HELP!”

Torvi and Astrid ran into the room first, with Veronica right behind them. Veronica announced, “Titus and the boys aren’t here anymore.” I explained, “They probably feel Haley’s anger. Eric was hurt, and it was bad. He took…” The reality of what happened hit me, and I sank down crying.

After a few moments, I shook myself and stood, “He took a shot meant for Chase. Noah is coming for his mother now.” Torvi and Astrid exchanged glances. Veronica opened a portal, “Let’s go girls.” I saw complete chaos on the other side. It looked like an all out war.

I started forward, but arms grabbed me from behind. I knew who it was. I yelled, “Gunner, let me go!” The portal closed. I yelled, “I could fire arrows! I could help them.” Gunner argued, “You would distract your wolf in your condition. I heard you say Eric was hurt. Is he ok?”

Gerdest spoke up, “You mentioned Eric. Would that be Alpha Consort Eric Conners?” I answered, “Yes.” Gerdest popped to us. His eyes were bright and excited. He said, “Oh my. Where are the wolves, the two girls? Chelsea and Sam?” I answered, “I don’t know why?”

Gerdest ignored me and asked, “Duchess Emmaline, you know them, right? Let’s get them here. Oh my dear….” He held Lacy’s hands and spoke in Fealish. She breathed in relief, and I cursed myself. I said, “Gunner, we need Doris.”

Doris walked in the room. She smiled, “I was already called. Now little miss Beta wolf, let’s get you checked out.” She looked and spotted the fairy. She said, “You can conjure us a bed with privacy, right?” Gerdest frowned admitting, “That’s not my usual request, but I suppose exceptions can be made. You are a remarkable woman.” Doris snorted, “Sure.”
