Haley opened a ring box she conjured. Inside was a round cut black diamond surrounded by smaller clear diamonds. I smiled, “Thank you Haley. It’s perfect.” She squealed, “I know, right? Lexi will fucking LOVE IT!”

I laughed then stiffened. Lexi was linking me with moans. I said, “Gotta run. Thank you for the ring.” Alpha Eric laughed as I took off. I heard Haley ask, “He liked it, right? I swear Lexi will love it.” My dad answered, “Oh he liked it, my guess is Lexi is awake. Now, let me see this ring now….” Guess my ass they could all hear her moaning.

I shut them out as I opened the door to our room and slammed it shut behind me. After we were done, I decided I’d have to figure out how to be alerted when she woke up so if I was working, I could come back to bed if this was how she wanted to start her mornings off. I had to admit this was a great way to start the day.

I parted with Lexi and went to my office. Matt and Derrick had the ring box open on my desk staring at it. I said, “I guess you or my dad brought this in here, Matt.” Matt nodded. Derrick said, “TeleTed must not know you got the ring.” I snorted, “I asked Haley to get it last night. I didn’t even ask her how much it cost me.”

Matt answered, “Alpha Eric said royal fairies do not pay for anything in Faerie. It cost you nothing.” I gaped, “Seriously? I’ll have to do something for her. I did want to pay for the ring.” We heard shouting and rushed out of my office.

Kincade was blocking Lexi and Ted into her office. Uther had two of Lexi’s uncles by their throats. I sighed, walked back into my office, and called Heath. He answered immediately, “Chase?” I said, “Two of your uncles, whose names I didn’t bother to learn, just barged into my house screaming for Lexi. Care to call your Uncle Jordan and come join us?” Heath replied, “I’ll be there in a minute. I’ll call Uncle Jordan on the way.” He hung up.

I walked out as one of them said, “That fucking Fairy Princess bitch has to undo this.” I was not alone in my growl. Uther punched both men in the face. He said, “The Fairy Princess is my Princess too, and you will not disrespect her, or you WILL die. Are we clear?” Both men rubbed their face as Heath ran into the room.

Jordan was not far behind him. He looked beyond amused. I commented, “You got here fast.” Jordan chuckled, “I was on my way already.” Heath questioned, “How? I just called you.” Jordan answered, “I figured out where they were going when I heard about the problem. They aren’t dumb enough to go Alpha Eric’s territory. Which meant they’d come here.”

Donald and Deitrick ran in. They looked warily at Uther. Jordan casually asked, “Why did Lexi’s Hackura guard punch them?” I answered, “They called Haley a bitch.” Heath snorted, “You guys really are dumb. What seems to be the problem? I assume this is about whatever Haley chanted in Fealish yesterday.” I’d forgotten about that.

Jordan said, “That’s their theory and I’d imagine they are right.” I questioned, “About?” No one spoke. I said, “Ok, I’ll rephrase for the two men who burst into my home screaming for my mate. You can either speak now to explain why you came charging in here, or I’ll throw you in my dungeons.”

Matt linked, “I kinda hope they pick option B since it’s more fun for me. Ted is also PISSED about their attitudes.” I rolled my eyes. Finally, one of the guys said, “All the adults at yesterday's meeting who are either an uncle or a string that is male can’t perform… sexually.”

Jordan interjected, “I would like to point out I do not have this problem.” One of the men turned angrily to him, “Which solidifies the theory. James' children weren’t upset with you.” Heath said, “We had no reason to be. We also have names.”

One whirled shouting, “You think this is funny?! We’ve tried everything. I even popped a pill.” I couldn’t hold in my laughter. Bolt linked me, “Suddenly I don’t feel bad about being pink for a week.” I agreed, “Me either.”

I collected myself and warned them, “If you speak to my mate in that tone, you’ll be thrown out of my territory on your ass. Speak to Heath that way again and I’ll do the same.” They shut up. I offered, “I’ll get her if you can be nice.” Both men agreed.

I nodded to Kincade who told Lexi and Ted to come out. Elijah made demands. I glared at him and he looked down. Matt linked me, “They did not think this through. Haley is not going to undo the charm no matter who asks. Their best bet is Alpha Eric asking when she’s blissed out after sex, and he wouldn’t ask because he won’t care.”

I agreed, “I concur with all those words.” Lexi pushed to have them tell her the problem. Jasper and James arrived. Heath nodded to them. Lexi tried not to laugh when she found out what was going on. It was admirable but once her and Ted’s eyes met, they both burst into laughter.

I glared at the men who opened their mouths to say something until they met my gaze. I was not surprised to find out Haley didn’t seem to care they were upset over her charm. We lost it when found out Haley had also sent their strings toys.

Derrick linked, “I don’t even know what I’d do if a box of sex toys popped up with a note from the Fairy Hackura Princess.” Matt linked, “She’s cutthroat to cross, man! Toys you can’t orgasm with and feel compelled to try. I’m staying on her good side forever.”

My dad linked me, “I have no words. Wait, yes, I do…. that’s HILARIOUS!” I pointed out, “Because it’s not us.” My dad agreed, “Absolutely because it’s not us.” Lexi tried to convey Haley’s words nicely. I didn’t have time for this shit though, so I told them outright what she’d said. Word for word. They could go talk to her instead of the niece and granddaughter they ignored her entire life.

Matt linked me, “The pack link is going crazy. The front door is open, and someone heard this whole thing go down. They think this is hilarious.” I shot him a look saying, “Oscar is outside.” Matt looked and saw Oscar shaking with laughter. Matt rubbed his temples, “It would be the fairy.” I pointed out, “A wolf would’ve done it too.”

Lexi went back to work. I ordered, “Jordan, get them out of my territory before I lose my patience.” Jordan nodded and told them, “Let’s go.” James chuckled and followed them out. He said, “Jasper, we should’ve met them decades ago. Life is more fun with those two around.” Jasper laughed, “Yes, it is.”

I walked back into my office. I asked, “Matt, what did TeleTed find out about the Conners?” My dad followed us in, but he didn’t shut the door. Matt answered, “Alpha Eric sent them to their place in Montana for at least a month.” My jaw dropped.

My office door slammed shut. I looked up to see Nadine, Isaac, and Isabella had walked in. Isabella squealed, “A MONTH! I AM CALLING YOUR SISTER!” She ran from the room as if it was on fire. My dad said, “Damn…. that’s….” He stalled.

Nadine finished his sentence, “Going to kill Cassandra. Everyone will know her son is sick of her antics. It may just shame her into behaving.” Matt commented, “It seemed like the whole pack was happy about it. One girl told Ted, the and I quote, ‘dark cloud of impending doom’ lifted once they’d left.” My dad sighed, “Poor Nathan.” Nadine said, “There we agree.”

I called Heath and arranged to meet him for lunch. When we met the next day, he didn’t seem surprised I was asking to marry Lexi. He told me that if I was who she wanted he’d never stand in her way, but that he approved of me for her. It meant a lot given how things had started between us.

The rest of the week passed by quickly. I’d planned where I wanted to take Lexi to propose. I wanted to take her back to the first place I saw her. I did not want that place to be remembered as the place where I scurried up a tree.

Several hours before her baby shower I took Lexi to that spot. I was so nervous that I barely remembered my speech I’d rehearsed with Matt, Derrick, my dad, and Cameron. All were tired of hearing it but listened every time I’d practiced this week.

She seemed surprised when I got down on one knee. I was hoping that wasn’t a bad sign. Then she said yes. I slid the ring on her finger and just held her for almost an hour. Lexi pulled back saying we needed to get back for her shower.

I shifted and Bolt ordered, “Ask her to ride us back.” I laughed and told her the request. She agreed. When we got back Alpha Eric linked me, “Haley is coming to you. I was ordered to tell her the SECOND I spotted you guys.” I questioned, “Does she know I proposed?” Alpha Eric snorted, “No, she wants Lexi to see her dress and the decorations.”

Haley was stunned I’d proposed. Seriously? She told me I had to. Alpha Eric joined her with two beers in his hand. The women left and Alpha Eric said, “That whole her being able to pop away gets old so fast. Here.” He gave me a beer. I said, “Thanks.” He smiled, “Come see your living room.”
