Matt answered the phone, “Anne, how are you?” Anne laughed, “My son is causing problems here.” I raised an eyebrow. Matt asked, “Would this happen to be about the sexy drunk fun pictures?” Anne replied, “It is. Miss Haley’s wolf will shit bricks about her dress should he see it. That’s according to the stories about him I’ve heard from my Ted. Now, our former Lieutenant…”

I dropped the phone I’d been using to study Lexi in her sexy pictures. Heath had already demoted Noah? Anne continued, “Is throwing a fit. They’ve been blowing up his phone with prank calls. That little twerp won’t stop answering. He’s such a control freak. Anyway. My boy fancies himself a photographer. He’s actually very good. We sent him to camp every summer for three years when he was in high school. Him and Lexi both. He refused to go without her. He does have an eye for it. Sally looks beautiful in his photos.”

I linked Matt, “Ask what Noah is doing?” Matt cringed but did it, “Why is your former Lieutenant upset? His string looking beautiful is nothing to upset over.” Anne gossiped, “You’d think he’d be quieter about it all. His dad has been trying to calm him down. His mother, the poor thing, left the scene in tears. His brother called him a fucking moron and left to go after their mom. He’s the only semi decent egg in that family I tell you. He looks nothing like his dad, but Edgar is a good person. He’s made some choices I wouldn’t, but he was trying to be a good dad to his crazy son.” What did that mean?

Anne continued, “My own Tony, you remember Ted’s father, is out there trying to calm Noah down. He broke everything in their place. I feel so bad for Sally, that was her space. Other than when she cooked, the only time I saw that spark in her eye was when she decorated their home. He even kicked the door off the hinges. Can you believe that?” Matt admitted, “I can but can’t.”

Anne huffed, “The dolt had the gall to say she’s never dressed up like this for him. I wanted to run out there and give him a piece of my mind. Not ONCE has that man taken her out on a nice date. Then he was FUMING mad when Miss Haley sent a picture of her face and her middle finger. He shouted that he’d teach her to disrespect him. The Hood himself knocked some sense into him. He told him never to threaten the Princess of the Fairies and Hackura again. That dolt forgot about that side of her family. It’s most exciting to watch the boy deserves it. We all think so.” This woman was my new favorite person.

Anne ranted, “I myself never bought his cockamamie excuse about Lexi. Poor girl. I see her as my own. She was joined at the hip with my Ted all their lives until that wretched man broke her heart and forced her to stay away from home. Lexi’s brother gave him what for though. Told him to leave her alone or else. Her brother’s or else is something. Let me tell you Matt my boy, I was cheering right there from my window.” I couldn’t hold in my snicker.

Anne told Matt, “Tony says I’m addicted to drama. I told that man, he had to know our son got it from somewhere. It’s OBVIOUSLY me. My Tony, bless his heart, is a peacekeeper.” Matt laughed, “Well, you go enjoy your show. I’ll check on Ted later.”

Anne tisked her tongue, “See that you do. My little boy has never been away from home this much. You all come visit; you hear? Maybe you can get my boy to come see me tomorrow? I do miss him. I’m so very proud of his business. I made Tony go get the supernatural news. They were featured in it after Miss Haley’s party. It’s just amazing!”

I got up and nodded to Matt, leaving him to talk to his soon to be mother-in-law. She was just as chatty as her son and I could see where he’d gotten his gift of gab. I was about to shift when I saw Derrick staring at his phone.

I paused and asked, “Derrick?” Derrick straightened and put his phone away, “Chase.” I frowned, “Are you alright?” Derrick answered, “Yes. No… I don’t know. This woman, Sally. Can I meet her?” I shrugged, “I’m sure you will. She’s going to be gone for a few weeks though.”

Derrick’s face fell, “Oh.” I explained, “She’s going to reject the Troll they are shouting about. She’s not even sad about it anymore. Haley is going to take her to a different realm to get some space and distance, and she’ll be back after Halloween I believe.”

Derrick revised, “Well, when she’s back I want to meet her.” I said, “I don’t see why you couldn’t.” Derrick smiled, “Ok, thanks.” He took off. I stared at him as he ran away. What the hell was his deal? He’d never mooned over a woman’s damn picture before. Could he... no. That was a crazy thought. Bolt snorted, “Him being her second chance explains a lot actually.” He would comment on my thought.

I shifted and ran to Lexi’s. I was halfway there when I felt someone following me. I took a deep inhale. Bolt confirmed my thought, “It’s dad.” I ran to the border and sat there for a while. Then I ran the entire border of my territory. I lost my dad and doubled back to Lexi’s place.

I walked in her front door. Lexi had sent more pictures. Ted had put her in seductive poses too. I groaned and dragged myself upstairs to the shower. The cold shower and relieving myself wasn’t helping. By the time I’d taken three cold showers and jerked off countless times; I gave up. My mate was just hot. That dress did things to me. Her full pouty lips with red lipstick was... FUCK! My phone buzzed. Lexi had finally answered me. Maybe I could get some phone sex. Maybe that would help me.

I was walking through the living room when Kincade linked me, “Incoming.” I whirled around, ready to head out the door to help my pack fend off an attack. Instead, Lexi zoomed into the house and practically tackled me. I’d barely braced myself in time not to send us both to the ground.

I forced myself not to go farther than kissing. She was very drunk, and I didn’t want to take advantage. She’d mentioned sneaking away, but not having sex. I should’ve asked her so that it was in the plan, and I knew if she wanted it or not.

Kevin linked me, “Do you have Luna Lexi? Alpha Eric was here.” I replied, “I got her. I’m sure he came to get his mate.” Kevin confirmed, “He did.” Lexi started talking about missions then got back to making out. My dick was very unhappy with my brain’s choices to not have sex with her.

When I explained to Lexi my position on sexy time tonight, her pout almost made me reconsider. Then she started talking about thinking her dad was alive effectively distracting me. She was the most adorable drunk.

I linked Matt, “Did you get the same impression about Heath that I did? He seemed upset with me about something. Respected that I’d come, but I did NOT get a like vibe from the man. He even said he was surprised I was there. None of that read that he liked me.” Matt agreed, “I would not say he liked you either.”

Lexi eventually started talking about the Troll. I liked my nickname better, dead mother fucker. I was confused about so much in this conversation. Then I actually looked at the others in the group photo instead of just as Lexi, I almost choked on my own spit. Was Haley insane? Alpha Eric would destroy that dress. Bolt snorted.

I closed my eyes. Fuck, he’d destroy any man who LOOKED at her in that dress. I was going to delete all the group photos from my phone, so he never knew I’d seen it. Bolt agreed, “That’s a good plan. Thor is very possessive of his first ever fated mate.”

Lexi dropped the information gem about him chasing his fairy. I linked my warriors on border patrol on that side of our territory, “If ANY of you see Alpha Eric chasing his popping Princess around and don’t get videos of it; I’ll give you the worst patrol duties for six months.”

They all snorted. Derrick answered, “We haven’t seen them yet, but we will keep an eye out.” I asked, “Since when are you on patrol right now?” Derrick replied, “I had extra energy to run off, I thought why not join them.” Ok then. I explained, “Alpha Eric’s tipsy fairy is popping away from him.” They were all deeply amused.

I vaguely explained how my event went. Everything in me froze and happiness exploded from my very core when Lexi told me she loved me. I’m fairly certain I needed her more than I needed air. She started talking about us having pups. My dick was going to fall off from the lack of relief. Was that even possible?

Because I hated myself, I asked questioned about pregnancy and pups. She didn’t have solid answers. Lexi was the cutest drunk person I’d ever had a conversation with. Who was vehemently denying she was drunk. She wanted food, but I needed her to change first. I’d be shot before men out at this hour saw her like that without my mark on her neck. I could take her to my diner. It wasn’t far from her house.

When she went upstairs, I went over to the table beside her door and I grabbed her car keys. I withheld my groan when she came down. She was in sweatpants and a strapless black bra. She held out her hands expectantly but didn’t say anything. Bolt purred, “Mate is adorable.” She intended to wear my clothes. That would definitely not help my situation of being as hard as a rock.

She started going on about how hot I was. At least I had on a shirt. She’d come down taunting me with her boobs and abs. I ushered her out the door. She rambled on and tried to set up Kincade.

God, I hoped not, or my Gamma would flip shit. He was gaga over the woman. I warned Kincade, “I think Derrick likes her.” Kincade snorted, “Like is an interesting word.” Ok? After I got Lexi in the car Kevin stepped out. He joked, “I’m offended I don’t get asked if I’m single.” I assured him, “She doesn’t mean anything by it. She’s very drunk.”

Kevin snorted, “She should be passed out, possibly deathly ill with the amount they drank. Thank GOD they are supernatural’s. Beta Matt is in the kitchen watching over Sally and Ted to make sure they are ok. Mind you, he’s doing that while talking on the phone with TeleTed, who has not realized Beta Matt is in the house.” I laughed, “What can you do? Keep an eye out for my dad. I had to shake him before coming here. I don’t want him to know about Lexi.” Both nodded, “Yes, Alpha.”

I walked around to the driver side and got in the car. Lexi declare her love again with the most innocent, adoring smile I’d ever seen. If she remembered this, our conversation tomorrow was going to be something.
