Chase entered me, “I’ll plan something. I’m taking you far, far away.” I laughed but then moaned as he slammed into me. I gripped his arms, “Chase…” He leaned down, “I'm going to make you scream my name.” I was halfway there anyway. He did make me scream his name. A lot.
Afterwards, I got up and dressed in some leggings and looked longingly at Chase’s hoodie. I asked, “Has Haley seen you in that hoodie?” Chase answered, “No.” I smiled, “Good. I want to wear it.” I grabbed it and put it on.
Chase hugged me, “Call me later.” I nodded. “Ted probably moved all our appointments to tomorrow.” Chase kissed me, “Let’s get going.” I nodded and walked outside. Kevin was waiting. I asked, “Where’s Kincade?” Did I scare him off trying to set him up? I was just teasing.” I think. Kevin answered, “He’s already at Ted’s. We decided that would be more efficient than both of us chasing you.” I smiled then kissed Chase again. I whispered, “Have a good day.” I forced myself to run away as fast as I could towards Ted’s house.
I walked in the front door. Ted was already up with a computer. He glanced up, “Well, you have I got fucked hair.” I blushed, “So do you.” Ted fanned his face, “Matt sent the guards away, and we had ourselves a romp in the woods. I never fancied myself the type, but damn if it wasn’t hot.” I laughed, “I’m sure it was.”
Ted waved his hand, “Apparently, I talked to Matt on the phone for several hours last night. I told him you had better have been with Chase because you weren’t here.” I admitted “I was surprised when I woke up with Chase. I was expecting to see your face.”
Ted teased, “Well then did you scream?” I laughed and hit him, “No. Is Sally up yet?” Ted nodded, “She just hopped into the shower.” I came around to see his computer asking, “Are you moving our appointments?” Ted nodded, “I only had to move one. Our day was light today.”
I went to make some coffee. Sally came in skipping. She said, “I’ll make us breakfast.” I bumped her with my hip, “I had an omelet.” Ted clapped, “OH MY GOD! A SALLY QUAID OMLET PLEASE WAR GODDESS!” Sally laughed, “I’ll whip you one up for you, Ted.”
I pouted, “Well….” Sally laughed, “I’ll make you one too, Lex.” We finished our breakfast and turned on some of Ted’s Friends DVD’s. We all turned when we heard a pop signaling Haley’s arrival. I winced when I saw her eyes were gold. I sighed.
Sally clasped her hands together and took a deep breath, “So, it’s not altered.” Haley apologized, “I’m sorry, Sally. Well, I’m sorry he hurt you. I’m not sorry you are moving on to better fucking things than the Troll.” Sally smiled and gave her a quick hug. “Thank you for checking.”
Haley sighed, “I don’t know what happens with a rejection. Does anyone know?” I winced, “Heath said there could be pain.” Sally laughed humorlessly, “There could be pain if either party wanted to be together. We aren’t wolves. If Noah loved me, he’d be in pain. If I was in love with him, then it would hurt me. Instead, it will hurt for a brief second and then I’m finally free.”
I quickly asked, “So, there’s no question he will know you’ve rejected him?” Sally nodded, “He will know. He will feel our tether to each other snap. I might have looked into it.” Quietly. Sally Quaid was apparently stealthy.
Haley said, “Then let’s have a plan first. Do you want to stay here in this realm?” Sally shook her head, “I’d like to go to the Hackura realm for a few weeks, if that’s an option.” Haley clapped, “My mom has a room ready for you just in case.” Sally laughed.
Haley smiled, “Their cook is actually pregnant. Her name is Cindy, she found her mate in our realm. He’s a warrior in the army and my sister in law’s brother, and he wants her to take it easy. So, if you want to, you are more than welcome to cook there.”
Sally smiled happily, “Just what I need, a kitchen. You are my fairy godmother.” Haley blushed, “I seem to be a few people’s fairy godmother. I’ll have to get you some shoes.” Ted and I bit our lips while Sally laughed. The best part was Haley was serious and Sally had no clue.
Ted quietly asked, “How long do you want to stay there?” Sally sighed, “I contacted the sous chef of my business. She’s going to run things, and I told her to hire help if she needed it. I even have one of our friends helping out. I want to stay through Halloween.”
Haley explained, “You’ll be there a while then. I’ll bring you back to this realm after Halloween here. It will feel longer than that there to you though.” Sally agreed, “Alright.” She took a deep breath, “Let’s do this.” She hugged me and Ted.
When she pulled back, she said, “Thank you both. All three of you actually but thank you for everything. I won’t be gone too long.” Ted wiped a tear, “Two weeks without my Sally Quaid. I’ll kill the Troll myself.” We all laughed.
Sally squeezed my hand, “Stay safe, Lexi. He will come for you.” Haley snorted, “He better fucking not. I’ll fucking end him and his stupid fucking face.” I raised an eyebrow, “You’d have to get to him first.” She huffed, “If Bjourn wasn’t out of town, dark on a mission; I’d already have his Troll ass.” I believed that. I took out my phone and shot Heath a text.
Me:The tape wasn’t altered. Sally is going to reject Noah then Haley is going to take her away for some space in the Hackura realm.
Heath:I’m with Noah now. I will see what happens.
Me:Ok.
Heath:Everything will be ok Lex.
Me:I hope so.
Heath:I will not let him hurt you ever again.
Me:Aww, thanks.
Heath:I mean it.
Me:I know and I believe you.
I nodded to Sally. She took a deep breath, “I, Sally Quaid, a member of the Hood, reject Noah Calvert, a member of the Hood as my string.” She gasped and dropped to the floor. She winced and I ran to her. I rubbed her back.
She took a deep breath then nodded to me, and I helped her stand up. She smiled, “I’m free. I’m finally free of him.” Haley took her hand, “Let’s go.” Sally nodded, “See you guys in two weeks.” Ted grabbed my hand as Haley popped Sally away.
He sat down dramatically. “What the hell are we going to do today? I cancelled our whole day already.” I nudged him, “I’m sure we can think of something.” Ted sat up smirked, “We definitely can.”
