Matt shifted and yelled, “TED, PLEASE WAIT!” Ted ran through without stopping. Matt shifted back and began to pace. I heard Lexi answer her door, then I heard Ted sob before the door shut. I linked Matt, “Come over here. I’m not too far back, and you can still see the barrier.” I’d come closer than I had lately because this was about my Beta.

Matt came over to me and we shifted. Matt was crying, “He’s going to leave me, I’ve lost him Chase.” I disagreed, “No, you have not. Lexi will calm him down. I’m so damn sorry. This wouldn’t be happening if I could have Lexi by my side.”

Matt ran his hands through his hair, “What do I do? I can’t lose him. He’s my whole world, my reason for being.” I assured him, “We will figure this out. He’s not leaving you, he was talking pups a few hours ago. He’s just worried about you. Lexi will calm him down. He still joined our pack tonight, and he waited to bolt until no one could see him. He held it together when it mattered, and he needed to. He will be a great Beta Male.”

Matt huffed, “This is a weird role reversal I can’t handle right now. I’m going back to pace outside that damn barrier.” He shifted and left. Both our heads shot up when we heard the front door open. Lexi stepped out with Ted. My mouth watered. She had on shorts that showed off her legs. Her top was begging for me to come play with her perfect boobs.

I was literally hugging a tree to keep from running to her. I had officially lost it. I managed to focus on their conversation. Ted had some out of sight out of mind plan. Not a single chance, he belonged in our pack. I smiled as Ted told us how Lexi talked him down. She was perfect. She was going to be an amazing Luna. Lexi got verbal confirmation that we would protect Ted if their group had a threat against him. No one would threaten either of them and live.

Eventually Matt and Ted ran past me. Matt linked, “Are you coming back?” I kept my reply short, “Later.” Lexi stepped back through her barrier. My ears perked up when I heard the unmistakable sound of clothes hitting the ground. I realized I didn’t hear her shut her door. I heard her going up the stairs to her room. I heard a drawer open then I heard her moan. I growled.

I linked Kevin and Kincade, “GET OUT OF HERE!” I saw both of them take off. I was painfully hard listening to her breathy moans. I wanted to be the one eliciting these sounds from her. I heard a buzzing sound. Seriously?! She had a vibrator.

I unzipped my pants. It was official, I was a creep. I began to stroke myself in tune with her moans. I pictured her underneath me and I was eliciting those noises from her. I sped up my hand just as I heard her scream my name. She was picturing me. Bolt snarled, “Get to her!”

Almost against my will I stood and ran to the barrier. I banged against it. I needed her. I needed to be buried inside her. Her moans continued. I yelled, “COME ON MOON GODDESS! YOU ARE TORTURING ME!”

Every moan, whimper, and yelling my name confirmed for me Lexi had been in that tree Ted looked at. She’d seen me, and now she was imaging me inside her. I ran the entire length of the barrier. I ran in a circle like a crazy person looking for any weakness. I was honestly stunned she didn’t hear me growling while she screamed my name over and over again.

Matt linked me, “What the HELL is wrong with you? The pack thinks you're about to do a mass exodus of pack members.” I growled, “FUCK OFF!” Matt continued to talk to me, “Ted assures me Lexi was alone in her house, so…. What is your problem?” I snarked, “I don’t know. Could it be my mate getting herself off screaming MY NAME?! Yes, I think that’s it.” Matt snorted.

I gritted out, “I’m trapped outside by this STUPID fairy barrier. I AM LOSING MY MIND! I can smell her arousal. It’s everywhere around me. She’s screaming my damned name while moaning and I can’t get to her.” Matt was barking in laughter, “I am…. sorry. That’s not funny…. except it’s hilarious. That means she had to be in that tree Ted looked at.”

I growled, “I need something to take my mind off this. She’s finally done. It’s only been an hour of pure unadulterated hell.” Matt pleaded, “So, does that mean can you stop growling now?” I growled, “NO!”

Matt wisely changed the subject, “Distraction time. About Eugene and Perry, we have no idea where they are.” I pointed out, “IF Lexi was there; I’d bet they are dead. Keep trying to get a read on their whereabouts, but if you come up with nothing I think we assume Lexi killed them for hurting Ted’s feelings.”

Matt said, “Damn. I like her.” A few minutes later he told me, “Ted confirmed it. Lexi killed them. Ted said she agreed with Haley’s Hackura family that disrespect shouldn’t be tolerated.” I shouted, “Matt, I COULD LITERALLY CARE LESS! I’m already turned the fuck on. Her killing people that disrespected you, me, and Ted does NOT help my current situation.” Matt chuckled, “Jeez, touchy, touchy. Don’t kill anyone.” I growled and closed our link.

I went back to my spot further away from the barrier. I had to force my feet to move away. I went to my spot and fell asleep. Matt linked awake, “Not to nag, but we have a lot of paperwork.” I growled, “Fine.” I linked Kincade and Kevin, “I need you to make sure your future Luna is safe today. I’ll let Cameron know you’ll be in his territory today. She’s throwing their party.” Kevin replied, “We are on our way.” I waited until they got there then ran home.

I shifted and grabbed shorts and tugged them on. Someone cleared their throat then said, “Son.” I whirled, “Dad?” My dad studied me, “What’s going on, Chase?” I shrugged, “Nothing.” My dad sounded annoyed, “Nothing? Do you remember I used to run this pack? You don’t sleep here anymore. Are you alright?”

I growled, “No! No, I am not alright! OK? Is that what you wanted to hear? I fucked up and I don’t know how to fix it.” Matt came outside, “Let’s take this to the office that’s still fairy charmed.” Ted walked out and kissed Matt. He told him, “I’ll see you after work. Good luck with….” He pointed at me and my dad adding, “This.” He smiled at me and left.

I stalked into my office. I linked Cameron, “Lexi’s guards will be in your territory today.” Cameron said, “I already expected that. I even know who it will be. Tell me something that will surprise me.” I retorted, “Our dad is pissing me off.” Cameron huffed, “Awesome and not surprising given what I’m hearing lately. Do better.” Everyone had jokes.

My entire demeanor changed when I saw Susie at my desk. Derrick told me, “She wants to talk to you.” I smiled greeting my sister, “Hi, Susie.” Susie smiled, “Hi, Chase! Where have you been?” I winked at her, “Working on Project Cookies.” Susie blinked then said, “Oh, well then everyone’s worried for nothing! Come on, daddy! Let’s go play. I have my tea party set up, but Ted couldn’t come because he has a work thing.”

My dad cooed, “I’ll be right there, Princess. I need to talk to Chase.” Susie pouted, “But it’s fine. He’s working on Project Cookies. Come on!” My dad glared at me, “SHE KNOWS?!” Susie frowned, “Why are you mad?”

Nadine came into the room. She bent down, “Susie, your guests want to start their tea party.” My dad asked nervously, “Guests?” Nadine narrowed her eyes at my dad. Susie prattled, “I have my teddy, and dolls set up at the table. You’ll come play won’t you, daddy?”

My dad knelt down, “I’ll be right there.” Susie sighed, “But project cookies is for mine, Chase, and Cameron ears only!” I smirked. My dad huffed, “Alright. I just need to talk to Chase really quick. I’ll be five minutes behind you.” Susie looked at me, “Only us in Project Cookies. Right, Chase?” I agreed, “Right.” She skipped out of my office.

My dad gritted his teeth, “You have GOT to be kidding me. Your little sister and Cameron know what’s going on?” I answered, “Yes. Is that all?” My dad growled, “TELL ME!” I sat back in my chair, “Susie gave clear marching orders. It’s only us siblings.” My dad looked around, “Matt knows and so does Derrick.” I shrugged, “When you need to know I’ll tell you.”

My dad shouted, “My son is spending his nights and days GOD KNOWS WHERE, and I don’t need to know?! Are you serious?! I’m worried about you. You aren’t happy, I know you’re not. Just let me help.” I confessed, “You can’t help me. I need to fix this on my own.”

My dad hung his head. He turned to look at Derrick and Matt, “I will kick BOTH of your asses if anything happens to my son.” I sighed as he started to leave. I assured him, “Dad, I’m ok.” My dad snorted, “I already said I know you’re not because I’m your father. I’ll figure it out, and I WILL help you somehow.” He dad stalked out.

I told my Beta and Gamma, “We can’t let him get wind about Lexi. He will bring her here.” Matt put his head in hands, “Yeah, he will.” Derrick came up with a plan, “We can have him take over training the younger warriors. They have classes early in the morning until lunchtime. Coming up with training plans takes time. It would keep him busy since you’re keeping our Lead Warrior busy.”

I clapped my hands together, “Perfect. You tell him we had that in the works to distract him from Susie starting school.” Derrick groaned, “Come on! I’ve gotta tell him?” I laughed, “You will be fine. He’s mad at me, not you.”

We got to work. We had a ton of paperwork to get through. Matt stood and walked out around lunch. He came in with a box of dark chocolates and a note. Matt said, “These came for you yesterday, but it didn’t make it to you.” Derrick huffed, “I signed for it, and left it on your desk.” Matt smiled, “Susie took it and ate some.” I laughed. I pulled out the note.
