Matt yelled, “MOM!” Isabella rolled her eyes, “I said discreetly, don’t you mom me. Now, I’ve ordered them with stronger she wolves first. I have another list for whoever your partner is too. I put lots of choices on his list since I didn’t know what he would want in a....”

She paused and turned to her daughter, “Jenna, they are called baby momma’s right? Is that what you kids say?” Matt choked and I nearly snorted I was laughing so hard. Jenna answered, “Yes, mom.” Isabell nodded, “I’ve updated it through the years, so my list is current.”

Matt gathered himself enough to ask, “How did you know?” Isabella snorted, “A mother always knows her pups. My other boys are the wanderers who will only settle down when their mates come along. You, my serious boy, were quietly into men. I was just waiting for you to tell me.”

Jenna admitted, “I knew too. I followed you to Nebraska once. I was concerned you were sick or something, somehow. I saw you with that guy.” Matt questioned, “How did you follow me?” Jenna blushed, “Well, I put a GPS on your car. ONLY because I thought you were sick. I took it off when you got back.”

Isaac wryly said, “Molly, it’s your turn. How did you know?” Molly answered, “Uhh I saw him leaving Eric’s room a few years back.” Isaac did a double take. Isabella laughed, “Really? I have to say I’m impressed, son. I thought Tyron had the most game out of all you boys. I guess it’s you though. Alpha Eric Conners. Isn’t that something, Isaac?” Isaac’s face was red when he answered, “It’s something dear.”

Matt asked, “Dad?” Isaac admitted, “I won’t lie to you. It’s not the life I had envisioned for you when you were a pup.” Matt’s face fell. Isaac continued, “But all I have ever wanted was for you to be happy. Are you happy?”

Matt nodded, “I am, dad. I really am.” Isaac said, “Then I will adjust. This isn’t about you at all. It’s about me and the plans I had envisioned. You pick someone to do that whatever your mother says inseminate through a doctor and give me grandpups. That’s my request. I assume since we are in Chase’s office having this discussion you are not stepping down.”

Matt opened his mouth to speak, but his dad stood. Isaac looked at me, “I will not step back in Beta. Jenna won’t and neither will my other sons if you call them back home to stop their investigation. If you force Matt to step down because of who he is, my family will leave this pack with him.”

Matt made a choked sound full of emotion, “Dad.” Isaac looked at his son, “I love this pack, and you know that. I love Chase’s father like a brother. This pack is a part of me, but you, your brothers, your sisters, and your mother are my life. If you are not accepted here, then they don’t deserve any of us. I won’t watch my son be stripped of his title for being himself. I just won’t do it. You’re happy, and that’s what matters.”

I said, “I agree, Isaac. I told Matt I would not ask him to step down. I’d like to think that everyone would know that. He is my best friend and Beta, that will not change. That actually leads us to the next part. Matt?” Matt was staring at his dad. A few tears streaked down his face. He asked, “You’re not disappointed in me, dad?”

Isaac stood and pulled Matt into a hug, “Just because I had a different idea about your path in life does not mean I am disappointed. You couldn’t disappoint me being who you are. If you’d forced a connection with a woman you didn’t love, that would disappoint me. Following your heart and being true to yourself is what your mother and I raised you all to do. I’m not disappointed. To be honest, I’m not really even surprised. I suspected.”

Isabella cleared her throat. Isaac smiled, “Because your mother outright said she knew. I’ve known about this list she’s had since you were fifteen years old.” Matt wiped his eyes. He stepped back, “For the past several months I’ve known my mate was nearby. I was resistant to find my mate because I can’t accept a she wolf. I just can’t.”

Isabella frowned, “Well, you can have a chosen mate.” Matt smiled, “It turns out my fated mate is a man.” Everyone gaped, except Alpha Jackson whose facial expression said ‘duh.’ He winked at me. Isaac smiled asking, “Really?” Matt nodded. He took off his Hoodie.

His mom looked at his neck, “Ohh his name is Ted? Is he human? What is he? WHERE is he? YOUNG MAN! Tell me you did not just leave him somewhere while you had this talk with us. I DEMAND you bring him here. NOW!” Isaac snorted, “If he’s not here that’s the first bad move you’ve made, son.”

Matt held up his hands, “He’s here. He’s spending time with Susie. He’s not human, and I actually don’t know what he is. Their rules of telling their mates their supernatural side is complicated. Plus, there’s a leak that he’s worried about. He’s a worrier, my Ted. He’s not telling them he found me because he doesn’t want the leak to come after me.”

Isaac instantly strategized, “We should convince him to tell them. Then they’d come for us, and we could end this leak. No one hurts my pups.” Isabella smiled, rubbing Matt’s shoulder, “Ted is one of ours now. Just as Jackson is, and one day Jenna, Tryon, and Ollie’s mate. Plus, I want to meet his parents. First though, I want to meet this young man.”

Matt said, “I’ll go get him. I can’t believe this went so well.” Isaac hugged him again, “We are a family first. No matter what happens with you kids, you are our pups. We love you.” Matt wiped his eyes. “Thanks, dad.” Isabella said, “You’ll have to call your brothers and tell them. They need to know.” Matt nodded, “Of course.” He walked out to get Ted.

Isabella patted Isaac’s hand. “There are days I don’t know what I did to deserve you as a mate, Isaac Miller. Today is one of those days. I know this hard for you, but you still love our Matt.” Isaac tilted his head, “It’s a hard road our pup is on. I just wanted him to have an easy life. This will not be widely accepted. I don’t want that for him, but I want him to be happy. If this Ted is his happiness, then I am on this path beside him. Besides, who can argue with the Moon Goddess?” I smiled at them.

Matt came in holding hands with a visibly nervous Ted. Isabella jumped up squealing, “Isn’t he cute! And LOOK at him, he’s so well put together. You and me Ted, we have to get my Matt in better clothes.” Ted smiled and put his arms around Matt lovingly saying, “I’m already planning to put his outfits together. We could go shopping together ma’am. His wardrobe needs help.”

Isabella clapped, “None of that ma’am business. You call me mom and YES! Shopping!” Matt groaned, “You guys…” Ted patted his arm, “Shhh, the ladies are talking.” Isaac snorted, “Son, it’s best to just them talk, and when they come back with new clothes just wear them. You WILL lose the battle.”

Isabella smiled, “He’s not wrong. Do you think your dad always dressed like that? He actually dressed a lot like you do.” Matt frowned, “There’s nothing wrong with my clothes.” Ted smiled and kissed his cheek, “Of course there’s not. I just want you in clothes that show off your assets better. You’re wearing the wrong styles.” Matt rolled his eyes, “Ok then.”

Bolt linked, “That’s cute. Maybe mate will pick out our clothes.” I wouldn’t be upset if she did. Molly stood and hugged Ted. She told him, “I’m so happy to see Matt so happy. Welcome to the family.” Jenna stood and exchanged the same sentiments. Isaac stuck out his hand, “Welcome to the Miller family, son.”

Ted’s eyes welled up, “Thank you. I promise you all that I made sure Matt wouldn’t lose his position when he told me he was the Beta. I would never want that.” Isaac smiled, “I appreciate that, but we wouldn’t want him to lose you either.”

Isabella waved her hands, “Now, about those lists. I think we should go ahead and line up two women. One for Ted and one for Matt.” Ted was confused, “Uhh, what list?” Matt groaned, “MOM! We aren’t ready for pups yet. When we decide we are, we will go through your surrogate lists.”

Ted put a hand over his heart looking touched. He asked, “You have a list for me?” Isabella nodded, “Yes, since we have time…” She glared at Matt, “We can tailor the list to you.” Ted smiled, “No need. I have a woman lined up for myself.”

Matt asked, “You do?” Ted nodded, “Heck yes I do. Ever since the Fairy Hackura Princess came into my life and I discovered fairy children conjure their own bottles. Right then TeleTed decided he needed a partial fairy child. Haley gave me the name of a fairy who likes women, and she did an egg retrieval for me. They are currently in some sort of fairy charm. I would need a surrogate since my chosen fairy doesn’t want to be pregnant. She only wants to teach the children about their powers if they have any. She wants to be more of a fun aunt than a mom. We have a whole agreement worked out and in writing.”

Isabella smiled, “That’s perfect! Maybe I can find a she wolf like that for Matt! I’ll have to re-do my list order.” Matt asked Ted, “What’s the fairy’s name?” Ted smiled, “Drisenella. Fairy’s man. They have weird ass names, but for women’s standard she’s very attractive. So, we will have a cute baby, and I get to name them all with Matt.”

Isabella laughed, “I like you. When are we announcing our Ted to the pack?” Matt looked at me. I shrugged, “We can do it tonight.” Matt smiled and pulled Ted back to him. He stated, “Tonight it is then.” Ted shrieked, “TONIGHT? I have to go change.” He took off running.

Isaac gaped, “He’s…. very fast son.” Matt agreed, “He is. I’m going to go make sure he doesn’t worry himself to death about this. Thank you, guys for accepting me and standing by me.” Isaac declared, “There’s nowhere else we would stand, son. I’m glad this is out there in the open now.” Each of them hugged Matt and then they all left my office.

I sighed and did some paperwork before Bolt had enough. He told me, “I want to see mate again.” I confessed, “So do I. Shit. We are not going to be productive without her here. Maybe we should set up an office in view of her fairy barrier house deal.” Bolt replied, “I like that idea.” Great. I was mostly joking.
