She looked at me declaring, “None of them get to leave here alive.” I nodded. We made quick work of them. I pointed out, “You didn’t question them.” Haley said, “They wouldn’t have known anything helpful.” Haley popped away and was violently thrown back to me. She was burned again. She screamed in frustration as she picked up the coven leader's head and threw it against the wall. She healed herself quickly.

I grabbed her arm, “Next time, take me.” Haley explained, “I was seeing if I could get there without being bounced back. If I could I was coming back for you.” I frowned, “If you could stop getting burned I’d appreciate it. The smell is bad and seeing you like that makes me want to throw up and I have a stomach of steel.” Haley sighed, “I know. It doesn’t feel great either.”

She grabbed my hand, and we popped back to the guys. Haley lost it. I looked at her brother’s, and realized Haley was holding back her pain in their bonds. Her brother’s didn’t even ask what hurt her. Lucas asked where Emmaline was. I winced and explained we didn’t know.

Bexley appeared. She shot me a quick smile then told Haley to calm down. It did not work. Bexley rolled her eyes. “I tried.” I agreed, “You did.” She whispered, “I haven’t found that thing yet.” I shrugged, “Don’t worry about it.” Bexley smirked, “I worry. I’ll find it.” I smiled and mouthed ‘Thank you’ before she popped away.

I turned to see Haley hit a warlock with the head of the Satan’s coven member. Astrid questioned me, “What happened?” I admitted, “I don’t know. Emmaline just vanished, and Haley did not take it well. Did Bjourn sense anything from her?” Astrid raised an eyebrow and answered, “Anger. I’m sensing he should’ve felt something else” I nodded.

Haley screamed my name. Without looking I shot an arrow through the leg of the guy that she was interrogating. Bjourn joined us, “Sometimes it’s like you two share a brain.” I smiled, “Sisters can do that, and we are sisters.” Bjourn agreed, “In the ways that count yes you are.”

Haley got her answers. She began to pace. She asked someone named Ben if he was certain his sister was dead. I turned. I turned my head. I whispered, “Is that Ben Price?” Bjourn answered, “It is.” I clarified, “The dead Ben Price.” Bjourn tilted his head, “He’s apparently not dead.” I said, “Huh. Interesting.”

I finally knew something Heath didn’t. I was going to revel in this moment. I took out my phone and texted Heath about Ben. He didn’t know. I smirked. YES! Haley seemed to think Alexa was alive too and that her and David’s daughter was Emmeline Ryder. I was going to blow Heath’s mind with the things I knew that he didn’t if that was true.

Once the warlock confirmed Haley was right, I sent all the details to Heath. He told me I was too excited about knowing something he didn’t. Duh. Because it never happened. The warlock said no fairy could get into the cage Emmaline was in.

Oh no. Haley began to lose it. She was speaking rapid Latin. I looked at Astrid. She whispered, “Haley thinks the kids will pop to Emmaline.” My eyes widened, “Haley got really bad burns when she tried to go to Emmaline.” Astrid said, “So, that’s what they should’ve felt and didn’t. Joy. The triplets won’t be burned. They are somehow immune.”

Bjourn was on his phone. When he winced, I closed my eyes. He said Alexander was gone. Fuck. Haley began to cry. Eric told her he was fine, but he didn’t believe it and neither did she. Haley pushed herself away from Eric and called Aiden on her phone.

I whispered, “Oh no….” Bjourn glanced at me sharply, “What?” I explained, “This has to do with that thing. In my apartment she didn’t want to talk about it. She definitely didn’t want to call Aiden. It’s that thing she can’t talk about. Her child is in danger so she’s… well as she would say honking the horn that can’t be un-honked.” Bjourn groaned, “Fuck….”

Haley screamed at Aiden to perform some charm and she cut her hand open the second he popped in. My eyes widened. Haley was begging him. She told him only he could do it. Crap. This definitely was what she didn’t want him to know.

I looked at Bjourn then asked, “Do you guys know what the big deal is about him doing this charm?” Bjourn answered, “No, I can’t say I like the feeling of not knowing.” Bjourn’s phone rang, and he put it up to his ear. He said nothing and hung up. He announced Cassie and EJ were gone now too.

Haley begged Aiden again to perform the charm. Aiden tried to reason with her saying it could hurt her. I wasn’t alone in my snort. I whispered, “She’s burned herself twice for Emmaline. Somehow, I think she’ll do more for her children.” Bjourn said, “She will. What do you mean burned? And twice?”

Before I could answer Bjourn stiffened when Haley told Aiden she’d do anything. Astrid gripped his hand tightly. Bjourn said, “I will kill him if he uses this moment to get a damn thing from her. She’s his fucking sister. I would NEVER use her at a vulnerable moment to get what I wanted from her. I’d just ask her, and she’d do it for me because I’m her brother. I would do anything she asked me to because she’s my baby sister. He’s fucking thinking about it.”

Astrid said, “I know you would do anything for her. Haley knows that too. I don’t think he’s considering it.” I agreed, “I think he’s trying to think of a way to talk her out of it. He doesn’t want to do it.” Astrid agreed.

Bjourn said, “I don’t care if she hates me forever. I’ll kill him if he asks her for one damn thing for this.” Astrid said, “You do care, and she couldn’t hate you.” I agreed, “She couldn’t. She could be mad at you, sure. She could never hate you though.” Bjourn’s eyes were blazing.

Aiden thankfully didn’t want anything in return for this charm. Bexley came back and looked around, wondering what she missed. A lot. Eric asked Haley what she was doing. Haley didn’t look at him as she told him she was saving their family.

Aiden pointed out this was his family too and bartered for her to call on his protection in return for him attempting to do it. Something told me the attempt and the actual performing of the charm would hurt her. No matter if it worked or not. Haley agreed.

She turned to me and told me to go to my romantic getaway. I wouldn’t let her do this alone. Chase would understand. I looked at my phone. Time had flown by, but I had another day. I was staying with her to see this through to the end. I needed to know she was ok. Haley told me that she was making sure I got to the plane because she loved seeing me this happy.

Tears clouded my vision. I couldn’t believe that even though I was keeping a secret about Chase from her she was determined to see me happy. I loved her. She was my little sister even if we didn't share blood. I looked her in the eyes and told her I’d always be there for her.

I knew Chase would understand that Haley was family. He’d be beside Cameron always. Eric had inched closer to us. He took her from me and looked her in the eyes to ask what she was doing. She told him using her blood and Aiden’s power to go to their children.

Astrid muttered, “Somehow I just know that was evasive.” Bjourn snorted, “Somehow?” Astrid retorted, “Yes Bjourn, somehow.” I laughed, “You guys are too cute.” Aiden was put out about how Haley explained it. They bantered back and forth about it.

Eric told Aiden not to hurt Haley. I wanted to cringe at his tone. That man had some steel in his tone. Aiden blew him off. My eyes widened. I studied Aiden then asked, “Is it me, or is Aiden actually worried?” Bjourn spoke tightly, “It’s not just you and it’s unsettling. He’s always joking and prodding people. He’s snapping, worried, and angry. This is not good.” I said, “Oh god I don’t like this.” Astrid agreed, “Me either.”

I watched Bexley as Aiden and Haley began to gather supplies. I observed them and whispered, “Bjourn.” Bjourn answered, “I know.” Astrid said, “Bexley is very pale she’s the only fairy who cares how we do.” Watching Aiden now I wasn’t so sure about that.

Calista joined our group, “Aiden cares as we do, he’s just now getting around to show it.” Bjourn scoffed, “He doesn’t care as we do. He allowed unspeakable things to happen to her. He will NEVER care for her as we do.”

I wasn’t about to argue with him, but I was getting the feeling that Aiden did truly love Haley. He didn’t want to do this that much was clear. Maybe if he had the same relationship, she did with her Hackura brothers; he’d argue with her more about it. He didn’t though because wanted her to forgive him because he didn’t realize she already had. Actually, the problem was he hadn’t forgiven himself.

That’s what her mother’s letter said. FUCK! Alania was talking about him doing this. Stupid Fairy Queen and her STUPID cryptic warnings. I heard a pop. Bjourn was not in the mood. He told the fairy to come out. I winced. I’d pop away if I was the fairy from the look on his face. I’d seen it before it was usually a look right before he creatively tortured someone before killing them.

Lucinda came out. She spoke to Haley and then took her side. Bjourn muttered, “Son of a bitch. Aiden actually called his wife to try to get her to reason with Haley.” Astrid said, “He does love her, Bjourn.” Bjourn shrugged, “Maybe.”
