I linked Kincade, Kevin, and Cort, “Get ready. The battle is starting.” They all nodded. The waiter near Chelsea Hanes went to the ground holding his head and screaming. Alpha Eric was appealing to his pup to let the man go.

Bolt linked, “The pup is doing that?” I replied, “It appears so. Ask his wolf.” He told me, “Brutus is too angry to answer.” I responded, “Good thing we are allies.” I saw a few waiters trying to flee. I linked Cameron, “Get them!” We took off. Reagan grabbed a few. Sophia had gone the other way with Alfred. We’d rounded them all up before they could leave.

Alpha Hammond truly had lost it. He was going to kill Chelsea’s pup to kidnap her. We all knew there was a bounty on her, but to harm an unborn pup? He was done for. Eric’s son growled and the man started screaming. Alpha Eric shrugged in a ‘what can I say’ gesture before the man’s head actually exploded.

One of the men I had fervently prayed, “Goddess help us all.” I snarled, “The goddess turned her back on you crazy fucks when you walked in here to take a pregnant she wolf.” The man smirked, “She wasn’t going to be pregnant when we took her.”

Peter Kyle appeared in front of me. He grabbed the man by the neck, “That’s my mate and pup!” He snapped his neck and moved quickly back to Chelsea. I dropped the body. Haley cleaned everyone up who was in the vicinity of the splatter from the head exploding.

She convinced EJ to pop out with Chelsea and Elise. I guess Peter Kyle was having a daughter. Clearly his daughter was EJ’s mate. Bolt linked, “I did that get out of Brutus. Elise is his mate.” In utero even. Damn.

EJ was gone when the waiters by Haley went down screaming. Haley just sighed then yelled at them for being jerks making it harder to parent her pups. Apparently, Alexander was mad on his brother’s behalf. Bolt linked, “Oden is his wolf.” Sure, Eric’s wolf went by Thor now. His son being Oden made sense. That meant Rain was Cassie’s wolf.

Cameron linked me, “Holy shit.” I said, “I know.” Thankfully, Alexander wasn’t as mad as his brother. Bolt snorted, “You’re wrong. He’s just killing his group much slower.” Good god. Their brain matter was literally coming out of their noses. Thank god Dylan had all our backs. It was still hilarious he called Alpha Eric God Alpha Prick and managed to live.

Dylan clarified the pups had exploded the people’s heads. As if there was another explanation. Alpha Lucas confirmed it which made Dylan rant. Everyone was trying not to laugh. Alpha Eric did have a lot going for him.

Peter Kyle was visibly shaken. He thanked Eric and told him he owed him. No one agreed. Eric simply replied by saying his son protected his mate. He pointed out none of us smelled it. The witches hadn’t counted on fairy senses. That’s what saved all our asses.

I linked Matt, “Is anything going on?” Matt answered, “The pups are having a great time.” I sighed in relief. Alpha Eric linked me, “There is a battle going on at Alpha Cameron’s pack. My extra men have been engaged. It appears Hood members are fighting with us as well.” I replied, “Ted said they would do this to protect our border and make sure my brother didn’t fall.”

I linked Cameron, “There’s fighting happening in your territory.” Cameron was tense. He answered, “I know, my Beta linked me. I have to go.” I disagreed, “No, you don’t. You wouldn't make it alone. We are likely surrounded. It’s why you left your Beta and Gamma behind.” I focused on the area surrounding us then added, “Scratch most likely, we are surrounded.” Cameron growled softly.

Luna Emmaline gagged smelling the food. It was interesting because they didn’t have enhanced senses of smell, but it was so bad they didn’t like it. Beta James and his mate popped in. He tensed. She astutely pointed out they missed something.

Haley popped everyone who was pregnant to the Hackura realm. Reagan cursed, “God Damn it! I should’ve had her send me into heat when she healed me. I could’ve gone to the Hackura realm. UGH! That was such a missed opportunity.” I laughed, “Hindsight is a bitch.” Reagan pouted.

Haley popped back with Crown Princess Astrid, Bjourn’s mate. He smiled when he saw her. He knew she’d come back with Haley. They told each other not to get hurt. Reagan and Cameron told each other the same.

Sophia cleared her throat. I turned. She offered me a small smile, “Be safe, Chase.” I smiled at her, “You too. Stay by Alfred.” She frowned, “I wish you’d bought Matt.” I shrugged, “I needed him with Susie just in case.” She nodded, “I understand. I always wished I had a sibling.”

Cameron chimed in, “Chase will stay by me.” I agreed, “As will Sophia and Alfred. We stick together, like we always do.” Sophia smiled, “I’ve got your back Chase.” I nodded. I knew she would because we had since we were pups. Despite our arguments and everything going on right now, we’d had each other’s back for a long time.

Luna Emmaline said an illusion was starting. What? I looked outside and gasped. I asked our group, “Didn’t we just see Beta Female Lacy get popped to the Hackura realm?” Cameron nodded, “We did.” Bolt howled in my head. I asked, “Bolt?” Bolt growled, “Mate was near for a second. She’s already far away.” I sighed in relief, “Maybe she’s home now.” Bolt countered, “Or going to another fight.”

Sophia tensed. I asked, “Sophia?” She said, “My pack is being attacked. They swear the Hood himself is helping them.” He probably was. I linked Matt, “Send warriors to our border with Sophia now!” Matt responded, “They are on the way.” I ordered, “Stay with the pups.” Matt growled, “Fine!” I spoke out loud, “I have warriors on the way to assist.” She nodded.

The person, who was obviously not Lacy, started screaming and begging for help. It was an effort for me to stay. My Alpha blood demanded I go protect the she wolf begging for her mate and her dad to help her. The fairy’s realized Lacy was part of the plan. They thought she was outside. Beta Dylan was irate and fighting against Lucas.

A few of their pack was moving towards the exits. I grabbed one, “It’s not her. You stay here until your Alpha says otherwise.” He pushed me, “Fuck you! That’s MY Beta Female! I need to protect her!” I reminded him, “You saw your Beta Female get popped to the Hackura realm. How could she get back?”

The guy searched my eyes for several minutes. Finally, he sighed, “She’s my friend.” I told him, “And she’s safe and fine. That’s a witch’s trick. You stay inside.” He nodded and stood down. Beta James’ fairy teased Haley. She accurately described Alpha Eric. Haley simply stuck out her tongue saying he’d never hurt her. That was true. I’m pretty sure he’d cut off his own hand before he hurt her.

I linked Cameron, “I’m beginning to think we have fairies all wrong. They are very well informed and they know a lot.” Cameron replied, “The royal fairies do. In our war, we didn’t fight royals. Most surrendered. It’s those with a chip on their shoulder fought, and we easily put in their place.” He was right.

Light shot around the area and the girl outside yelling stopped sounding like Lacy Frost. We could see her now. She was shocked. She took off running but was quickly overwhelmed by Blue Moon’s warriors. She was dead. Alpha Hammond yelled at Alpha Lucas.

Cameron growled, “That fucker is dead.” He definitely was. I was keeping an eye on Haley. I promised my mate she’d be ok. I could see her evaluating me herself. I smiled at her. She pulled Alpha Eric over to us. She warned me, “Don’t you dare get hurt. If I have to heal you, I’ll kick your ass later.” I nodded, “I’ll do my best. You stay safe too.” She snorted, “I’ll be fine.” Alpha Eric kissed her. We all walked outside to confront Hammond as a group.

Alpha Eric linked me, “Stay in a circle formation. You and your group take the east side.” I nodded, “We will.” We spread out. Luna Emmaline tried to talk Alpha Hammond down. Cameron linked me, “That’s NOT happening. He’s mentally gone. Look at his eyes.” I agreed. He was clearly crazed.

I felt a little bad for him when I realized he was actually pained over losing his mate. Briefly you could see the love on his face when her name was mentioned. His gaze narrowed on Haley. I closed my eyes letting go of my sympathy. It was clear Hammond wanted to kill her.

Several wolves near us set their sights on her. I linked Cameron, “I promised Lexi I’d watch out for Haley.” Cameron retorted, “I wish you luck with that. I’d guess Alpha Eric’s men have the same marching orders.”

Alpha Kyle linked us all, “We’ve got men coming up behind us.” Alpha Eric replied, “Our men are following them. We will be victorious. They all die here. This is the end of this shit.” We all bristled at his tone. We’d heard it before. He was about to slaughter anyone who got within twenty feet of him.

I noticed several witches leave. Cameron said, “I wonder if they are really getting away.” I looked at Alpha Eric and Alpha Lucas. I replied, “I doubt it.” The remaining witches began to fight our warlocks. I glanced behind me. The fairies were in the middle of our circle. I shifted and took down three rogues before I paid attention to what Haley and Emmaline were discussing. Shit.
