Then she watched Gage disappear.

Gage ran into the warehouse.Saw two men sprawled on the floor.

Were either of them Austin?

His heart lodged in his throat as he searched for his friend.

Then movement in the shadows caught his eye.

Gage aimed his gun.

“It’s just me.” Austin strode from the shadows. “I got them both.”

Relief washed through Gage.

He felt incredibly grateful now for all their training.

It appeared that most of the danger was over.

Until sirens sounded outside.

The next instant, several police officers flooded the space.

Good. They would arrest Graham, and the man would finally learn his lesson.

Gage’s relief was only temporary.

Anotherman strode inside behind the uniformed cops.

Mario.

Gage’s throat tightened.

The man glanced around, hands on his hips like he owned the place.

As his officers checked out the men lying on the floor, Mario walked straight to Gage.

The man observed him a moment before letting out a grunt.

“You do this?” Mario nodded toward the bodies.

Gage shrugged. “They were going to kill Nia.”

“Sounds like you have a lot of explaining to do.” His gaze hardened. “Where is she?”

Gage nodded toward the office. Even though Mario was a jerk, he didn’t think the man would hurt Nia. Especially not in a place like this with so many people around.

But the guy could make her life more difficult.

Gage would fight with everything inside him to make sure that didn’t happen.

Nia had peered out from the office. Had seen Gage was okay.

Relief flooded her. Praise God.
