“This is it, ain’t it?” the shorter one asked in an accent I didn’t recognize. “The werewolf hotel?”

I couldn't help but smile. “Yeah. That’s us.”

“For fuck’s sake, Calum,” the tall one sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “He could’ve been a human…”

“Nah,” Calum said, sniffing the air. “I can smell the wolf on him.”

Then he paused, taking another deep sniff. All at once his gaze zeroed in on me, his pupils dilated, and he dropped his suitcase to the floor. He stepped up to the desk, leaning against the surface and getting uncomfortably close to me. I didn’t know what to do, so I just stared at him.

“Erick,” he said, glancing back at his friend. “Can you smell that?”

The tall man gave him an odd look before sniffing at the air himself. Just like Calum, he breathed it in deeply, zeroed in on me, and got closer. I found myself leaning back in my chair, looking between the pair of them like I was a gazelle, cornered by a couple of wild hyenas.

For a moment, I didn’t know what to do. But then, just as I was about to say something, I was struck full in the face by their scents as well. The first thing I noticed was that they were both Alphas. That struck me as odd, too. It wasn’t often you saw Alphas travelling together. Usually there was an unspoken fight for dominance that happened, and they would eventually go their own way. But these two weren’t only traveling together, they weremated.Their scents were unique but intermingled. Calum smelled like warm grass in the summer sun while Erick smelled like cold rain falling on autumn woods. But they smelled of each other too, as any mated pair would.

So why were they looking at me like I was a piece of meat?

Finally, the last thing that struck me was the sudden pull I felt toward them both. I blinked a few times, trying to shake the feeling from my brain. My stomach twisted, and I felt something deep in my gut, a sort of magnetic tug that went straight to my cock. In fact, it only took a minor glance down for me to realize that my jeans were already stretched to their limits. When did that happen?

I blinked again, trying to regain control of myself. Clearly this hangover was a lot worse than I expected. I was losing control of all my faculties.

“Uh… so…” I said, swallowing hard. “You two need a room, I take it?”

“What?” Erick replied, acting like he’d just been awoken from a dream. “Oh yeah. A room. Right.”

Just then, the door to the lobby rang again. A blast of cold air filled the room as Liam stepped inside. The moment he did, he stopped dead in his tracks, staring at the three of us all looking as unnatural as possible. I could feel the heat rising at my neck and I knew my face had to be red from embarrassment. I was sitting in front of two perfect strangers, rock hard, and hungover all to fuck. It was probably the most unprofessional I had ever been.

“Pardon me,” Liam said, stepping up to the counter between the two men. “Just need to deliver this.”

He put the coffee and a pastry box down on the counter. There was a questioning look in his eye, but he didn’t say anything further. Actually, I could’ve sworn he winked at me. But before he could walk away, I stopped him.

“Do you need anything, Liam?” I asked, my voice shaking. “Like towels… help in your room… help withanything?”

Liam stood there for a few seconds, giving me a good, hard look. He glanced at the other two, smiled, and shook his head.

“I think I’m good,” he replied, a sly grin curling over his lips. “Besides, I don’t want to interrupt whatever…thisis,” he added, gesturing to the other two. “Happy New Year, Sam!”

That little bastard…

With a wave and a crooked smile, he headed out of the lobby and toward his room with Cory. I made a mental note to chastise him for that later. He knewexactlywhat he was doing and judging by the scent of lust in the air coming from the two Alphas in front of me, he probably thought I was gonna get spit-roasted to usher in the new year.

Well, I had news for him. Old Sam might’ve been a bit lonely and desperate, but he wasn’teasy. I read too many romance novels to have low standards. And if these two knuckleheads thought they were gonna flash me some pretty smiles and I’d just suck them off, they had another thing coming.

Chapter Two: Sam

Clearing my throat, I forced my voice to remain steady. “Do you want just the one room or two?”

“Just one is fine,” Erick replied, still staring at me.

“Did you make a reservation or are you two…” I paused, trying to think of how to say it. “Rogues?”

“We got kicked out of our pack, if that’s what you mean,” Calum replied. “About two weeks ago. It took us a while to get all the way here from Boston.”

Ah. So that’s where his gruff demeanor and slight accent came from.

“I’m sure you’re tired,” I nodded. Taking another deep breath, I forced myself to put on my best hotel owner voice like I did with the other wolves that came through. “It’s gonna be a quiet day around here with the holiday and all, but that’ll give you a chance to settle in. We’ve got tons of leftovers from the party last night when you get hungry.”

“Thanks,” Calum grunted, still unable to tear his eyes away from me.
