“Chase is making sure Mrs. Turner has everything she needs and that’s she’s comfortable. He even took her to Jackson Square for a walk this morning.”

“You mean he paraded her so Ben would know where to find her?”

“The sooner he comes for her, the sooner we’ll have answers. There’s gotta be a reason why he went into hiding.”

“I don’t like it.”

“That’s why I didn’t tell you.”

“What happens when he shows up?” She squinted at me, as if bracing for my answer.

“We’re going to bring him here.”

“You mean you’re going to kidnap him too.”

“We have no other choice, Ela. You can’t hide forever.”
