I filled a Styrofoam container with pasta and pizza.

“The average person would run in the opposite direction after reading something like that. But here you are. Which tells me you like living life on the edge.” I smirked.

“Danger doesn’t scare me.”

I met his gaze. “Me either. Danger excites me.” I flashed a devious grin.

I wasn’t sure why he brought this up now. I’d keep a closer eye on him.

“My cousin Josh is having a party on Friday night. Do you want to hang?”

We sank into our seats.

Ryah smiled. “You should bring the new girl you’re dating, Lizzy.”

“Yeah, I think I will.”

I slapped his shoulder. “Good.”

“You guys coming to my game Saturday?” Levi bit into a slice of pepperoni pizza.

“We’ll be there,” I stated.

He smiled widely. “You guys have become like family to me.”

Ryah placed her hand over his, staring into his gray eyes. I wanted to knock her hand away.

“We’re always here for you, Levi.” She retracted her hand.

Ryah knew that was best, or I’d go caveman again. And this time, I wouldn’t apologize.

***P***

Thursday night, Ryah and I dipped in and out of traffic on our matching Lamborghini Ducatis’.

We had a quick job to handle. Those were my favorite. They were less of a risk. I didn’t have to see my baby hanging from the side of an eighteen-wheeler any time soon. We mainly tortured and killed. If someone stole from the Andrisanis’ or the Contis’, Ryah and I sent a clear message to the partner who fled. We were coming for them.

Ryah and I rolled to a stop outside the shady motel. One street lamp across the lot gave minimal visibility as we walked up the stairs. We kept our helmets on until we entered the room.

“Agosto, Genn, are we good here?” I asked, as I removed my helmet.

“Yes, boss,” they stated, one after the other.

“Get comfortable, baby.”

Ryah sat her helmet on the desk amongst the tools my men laid out for us.

“That’s easy to do as long as you’re near.” She winked as she slipped a paper bonnet over her curls.

“Please don’t kill me,” the asshole sniffled from the chair in the middle of the dingy motel room.

The plastic crunched under my boots as I inched closer.

“You should’ve thought about that before you did what you did,” I bit out.

Sweat poured down his chubby cheeks. The guys placed a light over his bald head. Pretty sure it felt like the top of his head was burning.

“Clever move guys.” I pointed at the light as I stood to my full height.
