This was the hardest part. Sharing Ryah with others.
“He can hang with us Friday.”
She exhaled. “Not that I was asking for your permission. I knew you’d be there, if I forgave you or not.”
“That’s true. Am I forgiven?”
“Almost.”
I shook my head and laughed as I stood. “Enjoy your dinner.”
“Where are you going? You brought enough food for both of us to eat.”
I smiled. “Oh, you want me to stay?”
“Rocco, please!” she huffed. “It’s not like you were really leaving.”
“True.”
Leaning over, I captured her lips. Ryah whipped my beanie off my head and tossed it over her shoulder. “You ruined a perfectly good day. We were supposed to study together.” She stared at me with that puppy dog look. The one that made me melt into her hands.
I sat back in the chair and removed the rest of our food from the bag. “About studying. Lila, a girl in my political science class, approached me in the library. She asked if she could be my partner for our project.”
“How often?” She bit into her grilled chicken sandwich.
“Probably two to three times a week. We’ll meet in the library.”
“Ok,” she said.
I quirked a brow. “That’s it?”
“Yeah.”
“Ryah, she likes me.”
“I’m sure she does.”
“I gave her the speech. Told her I have a girlfriend. I’m not looking to hook up. There was shock on her face when I mentioned that last statement. She was so nervous, though. It probably took all the courage she had to ask to be my partner.”
“I think it’s sweet you stepped outside of your comfort zone.”
I bit into my sandwich, staring at Ryah, who appeared calm.
“What if I told you, she said she wanted to fuck me?”
Her head snapped my way, and an evil scowl took over her gorgeous features.
“Rocco, lucky for her she didn’t say those words.” Her face morphed into a sweet doll face.
My woman was part psycho, and I loved it.
“She can hang out with us, too.” Ryah chomped on her sandwich, watching for my reaction.
“We meet tomorrow at one thirty. Stop by. I’ll introduce you to her.”
“Did Gene check her out?”
“He’s looking into her right now. What about Levi?”
