I shook my head. “He threw me against the window and fucked me from behind.”
She clapped her hands. “Yes! That was hot and dirty.”
I laughed.
“Did you hook up with anyone at the party?”
She toyed with her chestnut brown hair, biting the corner of her lip. “Alejandro. I had no idea he’d be there. We argued about him showing up unannounced, then I rode his dick for the rest of the night. We are so toxic.”
“Faith, didn’t you say he wants to be with you?”
She sighed. “Yeah.”
“What’s the big deal?”
“His parents don’t want him anywhere near my world. His brother is in prison serving fifteen years for getting busted with cocaína. They legitimized their businesses. I’m the last woman they want in his life. They keep forcing a white girl down his throat. She’s thirsty, too.”
I could see the anger brewing in Faith’s eyes. “Soon I might have to pay that bitch a visit.”
I knocked her shoulder with mine. “You know I got your back.”
Her beautifully tanned face brightened. “Yup, bitch, I do. Have you heard anything from ‘The bitches?”’
“No, what happened?”
“I waited until the hallway was empty and placed the boxes outside their door. After I knocked on the door, I slipped into the bathroom. The second their door closed; I ran down four flights of stairs. By the time my foot hit the last step, I heard their screams.”
“Yes!” I shouted. “I bet those bitches will think twice about pushing up on someone else’s boyfriend.”
“Oh, they most certainly will,” she laughed, as we entered the building.
Once inside the lecture hall, I peeled off my leather jacket. I glanced at the guy who often sat alone in the second to the last row. He participated in class discussions, but I guess he didn’t like sitting with others. I smirked at him, and he flashed a grin back before I took my seat.
Maybe I should’ve looked away. Those stormy gray eyes of his made me curious. What was his story? He was a tall, attractive guy. Levi wore mostly black or gray shirts with dark denim jeans. He had thin, pink lips, tanned skin, and golden-brown short hair. I wasn’t interested in him. I just wished he’d find happiness. Or associate with other people, so he could forget about his problems. My thoughts reverted back to this weekend. Every moment Rocco and I shared in our new house was memorable. Sunday, we hung out in our basement playing every game from pool to the Centipede arcade game.
Rocco said his teammates were upset with him. He said they told him he appeared to have gotten laid Friday. I wasn’t sure what that looked like. Maybe happiness. He said they had a no sex rule before games. Yup, Rocco failed miserably. He fucked me on top of the bar, up against the sea of windows in our family room, and on the stairs leading to the second floor. He didn’t play awful, but he didn’t play great either.
Back to no sex before football games, I guess. I was satisfied. Sleeping in my boyfriend’s arms in our bed every night made me hate my decision to live on campus for a year.
I’d remain strong and not give up my college dorm life experience.
Mid-day, I waved at Rocco across the crowded dining hall. I noticed Levi sat alone stuffing a slice of pizza into his mouth. I halted at his table.
“Are you ok? You look sadder than normal. Sorry.” I palmed my forehead.
He flashed a half smile. “My grandmother passed away a few weeks ago.”
I wrapped my arm around his neck. The hug was awkward. Didn’t matter. I wanted to show kindness. “I’m sorry for your loss.”
“Thank you. I must’ve thought about her a lot today. You’re the fourth person who asked if I was all right.”
“There’s a party this weekend at Neto’s fraternity house. You should come and hang out with us.”
He shook his head, staring at his plate. “I don’t know.”
“Think about it. See you in class Wednesday.”
“Bye, Ryah.”
