I stood to my full height and slammed my foot into her belly, once, then twice.
“Oof,” she groaned.
She’d feel that pain days later.
“Ryah,” Smitty warned, from behind dark sunglasses near a large oak tree. He held his phone up. Recording what?
My eyes fell around the campus grounds. The crowd in the distance had doubled in size. Students held up their cameras and recorded me standing over the banged-up barbies on the ground.
“Goodbye girls. See you in class Friday.”
Not looking back, I fell in step beside my bodyguard. I sent Art on a quick mission.
“Ryah, Agosto and I will collect phones.”
“Great, thanks.”
A smile took my lips.
There, I think the message was well received. The other whores would get the message soon enough.I laughed inside.
***P***
Rocco tore out of the school parking lot, merging into traffic.
“I don’t mind driving sometimes. My car’s collecting dust in the parking lot. Why did Art bring it if I wasn’t going to drive?” I wallowed my head against the warm bucket leather headrest.
Dad bought a beautiful champagne colored Bentley Coupe for my eighteenth birthday. Most kids received expensive sports cars at sixteen. Dad wasn’t ready to let me drive alone back then.
“I promise to let you drive next time.”
“Your promises are futile. You’ll never let me drive. I think it’s time Faith and I have lunch off campus.”
He cut his eyes at me briefly before turning his attention back to the road. “I got it, Ryah. I’ll really let you drive next time.”
My lips tipped upward.
“Do you think those chicks got your message?”
“We’ll know tomorrow. If I receive a call from the Dean’s office, then I’ll have to take my threat to the next level. But something tells me the presents they’ll receive...” I glanced at my Rolex. “...in fifteen minutes will make them think twice.”
I asked Faith to leave two pretty gift-wrapped boxes outside their dorm room door. Made her job easy since Kimber and Rona shared a room.
Slender trees came into view as Rocco turned down a residential street. My simmering gaze landed on him. “This is not the route to the little restaurant I like.”
“I know.”
“Where are we going?”
Silence.
Seriously, this guy was ignoring me?
A charcoal gray house came into view as Rocco turned into a long driveway, parking in front of a two-car garage.
The sloped roof gave the house special charm.
Did he know someone who lived here?
