Rocco didn’t say another word to Agosto before he left.
“I’m back, Princess.” He flashed a devilish smile.
I wrapped my arms around his neck. “You had us worried.” My heart thudded against his chest.
Rocco’s hand swayed my back. “Did you talk to your dad?”
I released Rocco and sat up. “Yeah, I spoke to my mom and dad. They were at their wits' end. Art said we’re returning home together. He was upset he wasn’t on the flight with us. So, I’m back under lock and key.”
“Our bodyguards take their jobs seriously. Look on the bright side, Princess, because they do, we’re safe.”
“True. Shit, I forgot to ask how we’re getting back home. I can’t fly anytime soon.”
“I’ll make sure flying isn’t an option.”
“How do you feel?” My eyes gravitated to his pink lips.
He gripped his bandaged head. “I’m not one hundred percent. But I’ll be ready to fight.”
“Rest on the way back to Philly.”
“I will, while laying my head on my beautiful woman’s lap.”
My legs shot together.
Rocco caressed my hip and his lips ran circles over my collar bone. Heat whipped over every inch of my body. “As much as I want you to climb on my cock, baby, I’m not feeling up to it.”
I clutched his shoulder. “Rocco, I’m not worried about sex right now.” Maybe that wasn’t the total truth.
“You are my concern. I told Art I’m fighting by your side.”
He rested his head on the pillow. “What did he say to that?”
“Nothing. I doubt he’s entertaining the thought.”
Rocco yanked my chin and ran his thumb over my lips. “Listen to me.”
My brows rustled together. I stared into his ocean eyes.
“We almost died. I have to keep you safe. Stay at the safe house with your mother. Like I said before, I will visit you no matter what.” He pulled my lips into his.
“I can’t lose you, Ryah,” he murmured.
He’d gone back on his word. We were supposed to fight together.
“I’ll be back. Don’t disappear.”
The man knew me well. I hated the words that left his skillful lips. ‘Stay at the safe house with your mother.’ Ugh!
He tossed his sock covered feet over the side of the bed.
“Do you need help?”
“No, I’ll manage.”
I scooted to the edge of the bed, balancing on my hands. I was ready to lift off if Rocco staggered. He took his time and walked into the bathroom.
A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door.
