“Is there something you want to say to me?” I cocked my head to the side.
“Ryah, do you need back up?” Faith asked at my back.
I smiled brightly at the chicks before me. “Nope,” I stressed emphasis on the P.
“Earlier, your boyfriend tried selling you’re a badass. I beg to differ. You fought one girl. Big deal. Do you think your hot shit because you opened your legs and the finest boy at Prestige Academy fell victim to your simplistic ways?” A sneaky grin crossed Meg’s lips.
“It’s just a matter of time before I fuck him again.” She shoved her foot into my chest. I stumbled, flaying my arms. I bumped into someone, then I collected my baring’s. Meg and her friends' laughter echoed. I felt everyone’s eyes on me.
I stepped closer. “Go for it. See if he’ll fuck you. I’ll make it interesting. I’ll stay home one day next week. See if you can persuade him to sleep with your pathetic ass.”
They laughed again.
“I don’t have to wait that long. I’ll be riding his dick before the weekend’s over.”
“Oh, she told you,” one of her girls said. By this time, I had tunnel vision. All I wanted to do was bang Meg’s head on the concrete.
I drew my arm back, then slammed my fist into her nose. Blood gushed down her chin. I yanked her into the water by her bikini top. Her fingers latched onto my bun. Our bodies twisted as I held a fist full of her hair, pounding my fist into her face. She clawed at my face, then she managed to get in a few good licks.
“You girls are all the same. Think you can open your legs for a guy and he’ll fall prey to your whorish ways. Newsflash bitch. He’s done with your washed up ass. You won’t ever fuck my boyfriend again. Not a fucking chance.”
“Ryah! Ryah!” Rocco yelled.
Her friends clawed at my arms, trying to pull me off of her. There wasn’t a chance in hell I’d let that bitch go.
I shoved her head under water. “You crossed the wrong bitch. When will you bitches ever learn?” A dark chuckle left my throat.
“Ryah.” Rocco’s face came into view. “Princess, let her go before you drown her.”
I reluctantly released her limp body. Easton and Jeremiah jumped into action, hauling her out of the pool. Rocco pulled me against him. I watched as they pumped her chest. She turned her head to the side and coughed up water.
Briar stood poolside. “The shows over people.”
He cupped his hands around his mouth. “DJ, crank the music.”
And just like that, people sipped their drinks and whispered as Rocco directed me to the opposite end of the pool.
“You’re a total badass,” a guy shouted in passing.
Genevieve approached, placing a wet towel on my throbbing face. I didn’t feel the pain until that moment.
“Thanks.”
Rocco sat me on the ledge.
“Tomorrow can we sit in the jacuzzi?”
“No need to wait until tomorrow. We can do that right now.” Rocco helped me out of the pool.
“Guys, give us a second.” He pointed at his friends. “We’ll toss the ball around soon.”
“Sounds good,” Jeremiah stated.
I sank into the hot bubbling water. “This feels amazing.”
Rocco patted my face with the towel. “There are little scratches all over your face and arms. The right side of your face is red, too. Why did you let Meg get under your skin?”
“They didn’t believe I beat up Emily. Because they didn’t see the fight. I had to make an example out of her.”
