She smiled up at him. “Thanks daddy.”

He frowned at me. “No trouble, Luciano.”

I raised my hands in a surrendering fashion. “No trouble.”

Melanie sat down after her dad walked away.

“Where’s your mother?”

Her brows lowered. “At home. She doesn’t come into the restaurant that often anymore. She sits at home and tends to her garden. This restaurant is my dad’s baby. It’s been in his family for years.” A huge smile lit her lips when she spoke of their family restaurant.

“I think this is my favorite meal, too.” I scooped a forkful of shrimp and grits into my mouth. “Melanie, I like your version better than your fathers.”

“Luciano, I told you I can’t date you.”

“It’s not that you can’t. You won’t.”

“Next Thursday, I’ll arrive at your house at six in the evening. You and I are going to dinner. Wear a dress that compliments those thick thighs and plump ass.” I wiggled my eyebrows.

Her eyes narrowed as she threw her hands up. “I say I won’t date you and you disregard my words.”

I wiped the corners of my mouth with my napkin and tossed it on the table.

“I’ll see you next week.” I stood and buttoned my suit jacket.

She jumped out of her seat. “No, you won’t.”

My hands slipped around her waist, and I crushed her soft lips. Her hands clasped my biceps. She couldn’t fucking resist me.
