“She’s upset with the order. Her dad can fight our enemies. You can too. But she can’t. A part of her probably doesn’t feel whole because her life is controlled.”
I smirked. “That’s exactly how she feels. Thanks for the talk, Agosto.”
“No problem. I’m going to take a stroll around the premises.”
“Ok.”
He exited the patio door wearing dark clothes. Agosto pulled his cap low before he disappeared.
Later that night, I tossed and turned. The long shower calmed my nerves a little. But I needed to talk to Ryah. I sent her a text.
Me: Ryah, I hope you don’t think being away from you is easy. It’s tearing me up inside.
She responded right away.
Ryah: Rocco, I know. I’ve calmed down. I’ll be fine. Get some rest. I love you.
Me: I love you, too.
Now, I could focus on finding the bastard that ruined my summer. That motherfucker was in for a real treat.
