CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

LUCIANO

“RYAH.” MY KNUCKLESrattled against the wooden door.

“It’s time to wake up. We’re leaving in an hour.”

She didn’t respond. The door was ajar, so I poked my head inside.

She was asleep. “Ryah, get up.”

Again, no answer. I stepped over to the bed and narrowed my eyes. I placed a hand on the impression before me. My hand sank lower.

“What the fuck?” My heart hit the floor. I ran to the bathroom and peeked inside. She wasn’t there either.

Stalking through the house, I checked every closet, the pool area, and Rocco’s room.

“Luciano, what’s going on?”

Rosetta asked from behind. I turned to her. She wore a red sundress that clung to her body. It matched her red lips. The sunlight bounced off of her brown hair, giving her some sort of youthful glow.

“I can’t find Ryah.”

“Did you check the beach?”

“I’m going now. Art, Duran, meet me outside,” I ordered, as I stalked out the patio door toward the beach.

Art and Duran ran in my direction.

“Rosetta said you can’t find Ryah.” Art’s black brows rose.

“She has to be here. We would’ve seen her if she left,” Duran added.

“I’ll check the beach. Art, search the neighborhood. She might be with Rocco. I’ll call him in a second. Duran, I know you have a special security feed set up. Pull the footage and let me know when you have something.”

“Right away,” they stated, one after the other.

I retrieved my phone from my suit jacket pocket and tapped Ryah’s name. The phone rang several times, then went to voicemail.

“Ryah, baby call me back.”

I disconnected the call and hiked further down the beach. Holding my hand over my eyes, I glanced both ways. “Ryah,” I yelled.

“That boy is dead if he lured my daughter off this property,” I growled aloud.

I dialed Rocco’s number.

He answered on the second ring. “Hello,” he yawned.

“Don’t pretend to be asleep. I’ve had it with you, Rocco. Where’s my fucking daughter?” I roared.

“What are you talking about? The last time I talked to her was at two in the morning. She’s probably on the beach. Check there.”

I sighed, running a hand over my head. “No, she’s not. I’m standing on the beach. Duran’s pulling the security feed. If I find your ass near this property, I’m coming for you.”

“Go right ahead. I’m telling you, she’s not with me.

“Ercole,” Rocco called.
