“Nope, my mom had an emergency surgery. And dad was on call this week. One of his patients went into labor. He left an hour ago.”

Lucky for her, she had minimal supervision. A teenagers’ dream.

Her flirty dark gaze lingered over my broad chest, before turning her attention to the lit path along the side of her house.

“I thought you’d want to kick it later. Why are you at home on a Friday?”

A wide smile crossed her malt chocolate colored face. “After you make me come, I’m leaving. Getting off before a party can be cool too. The pulsating beat vibrating through my body as I dance tonight will remind me how good I was fucked by you.” She winked.

Maze turned the side door knob and nodded me inside.

I chuckled. “I’d say we do a good job of pleasing each other. Maybe it has something to do with us imagining the person in front of us is the person we desire the most.”

She laughed. “You’re absolutely right.”

Maze was beautiful. She had high cheekbones, plump lips, and big dark eyes.

If I wasn’t fucked up over Ryah, maybe we could’ve been more. Nope. Just because someone was attractive, and you were sexually attracted to that person didn’t mean you had to be in a relationship with them. After tonight, I’d inject myself in Ryah’s life more. Fucking all these chicks and visualizing Ryah was getting old. I just wanted her.

“Has that guy asked you out yet?” I closed the door behind us.

She flipped on the light switch and we strolled down the basement steps.

Maze sighed. “No. He still doesn’t know I exist. You remind me of him. The brooding angry obscenely athletic type of guy. Did I ever tell you he’s the captain of our football team?”

What do you know? She has a crush on Bosco.

She flopped on the sofa. “I secretly crush on him from the stands.”

Didn’t sound like she’d ever get up the courage to speak to him either.

I sat beside her and I scanned the room. The basement had custom black finishes. And a big screen TV sat on the wall in front of us.

Her smile didn’t quite meet her eyes.

Maze had no idea the guy she adored had it bad for Ryah. I’d win Ryah’s heart though, because I had the upper hand. Our fathers were good friends. Which meant we saw each other outside of school, too. They were also cool with Bosco and Gian’s dads. But it wasn’t the same. Our fathers grew up together. That was why Ryah and I attended the same church. The day she socked me in the nose was the day she became my enemy and the girl I couldn’t stop thinking about.

“You should make him see you. For starters, say hello. Then work your way up to sitting at his lunch table.”

She bit her nails, then tugged her long black hair over her shoulder. “You’re right. I’ll start with a hello.”

We laughed.

Her smile dropped. “I’m ready, Rocco. I need a release. All the pining away I do for him has made me horny.”

I reached over, yanked her shorts and panties down her legs, and dropped them on the floor.

“She hugged him after the game. It was long and sweet. I felt sick to my stomach. Maze, I wanted to end him.”

Compassion flicked in her eyes and she caressed my face. “You’ve been in love with her for a long time. You’re slowly killing yourself by not telling her how you really feel.”

She was right. I needed to tell her.

“On all fours,” I ordered.

Maze licked her lips. “This is going to be brutal. I just know it.”

“Yes, it is.”
