“Hello Hope. I’m Alex.”
“Sorry, I should have introduced you guys.”
I slapped his thigh. “Don’t worry about it, Noah.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Alex. Looks like its below zero there.” My brows lifted.
His face was beet red, and the wind whipped through his long brown hair.
I sat my fork on the counter.
“It’s not that cold. The sun is shining and is twenty-five degrees. Christmasville is probably colder than Aspen right now.”
I glanced at my phone. “You’re right. It’s twelve degrees. Happy I bought that new coat. I didn’t realize it was that cold out.”
“Are you really moving to Aspen with the Grinch?” Alex chuckled.
“Yes.”
“We’ll take you snowboarding after you get settled.”
“Sounds like fun.”
He flipped his camera.
“This is our compound. We have private ski slopes.”
Their land was massive. Two mansions were in view. One of them had a four-car garage. Bet there were a few more homes.
He pointed to the roof of one of the mansions. “Nolan’s getting ready to snowboard off the roof and attempt a back flip.”
My hand flew to my chest and my eyes widened. “Noah, I remember you mentioned he’s jumped off the roof before, but you didn’t say he performed a flip.”
“Baby, my brother’s crazy.”
“Count him down, Zach,” Alex yelled.
“One, two, three,” he shouted.
Nolan released the chimney. He slid off the roof, threw his head back, twisted in the air, touching the board. He landed on the packed snow, thrusting his fists toward the sky.
“Yeah!” they screamed.
Noah jumped out of his seat. “Yes, Nolan.”
Alex ran toward him. “Nolan, that was epic.”
He flipped the camera. “Say hi to Hope.”
“Hey, beautiful.” His brilliant green eyes lit up.
“I performed that jump just for you.” Nolan winked.
Noah blocked my view, pointing his finger at the phone. “Keep it up and I will shove your ass off the roof next time.”
“Bro, where’s the love? I was just fucking around. I know she’ll be my sister-in-law. And soon the way you’re acting.”
Noah sat in his seat. Face twisted.
