“So many ways… I want Jaden to take my ass as I take you, and he’s fucking us both with each thrust.”
Wyn’s riding me so hard now that her heavy breasts are bouncing to where she must hold them. Her fingers pinch her nipples, and she grinds out another climax.
Her tight channel milks me, throwing me over the edge, and I shoot my hot seed up inside my glorious mate. I’m trembling and delirious by the time she leans forward and collapses on to my chest.
“Thank you, Wyn,” I say, wishing my arms were free so I could hold her. I tilt my head so I can press my cheek to the top of her head.
“Next time, I’ll have Jaden help me tie you up.”
“Sweet princess, only if he says yes.”
The following day, while Oakes teaches Wyn to block out unwanted psychics, Jaden invites me to continue my combat training.
From his wall of weapons, Jaden picks two dull training swords and tosses one to me. “How was your night alone with Wyn?”
I’m smiling, and my gaze is far away, remembering my time alone with her the night before. “Lovely. Wyn is…”
“Our heart,” Jaden finishes for me.
“I suppose she is. And I believe she truly is the perfect match for us.” I check my grip on the sword, thinking about how she found pleasure in my fantasy.
“Wyn is a blessing… one we need to protect at all costs,” Jaden says with a fierce edge.
Looking up into his violet gaze, I shiver. Wyn brought up the latent feelings I have for him that I’ve done my best to suppress. I also never wish to disappoint him again. “I know you don’t approve of making her an ambassador.”
“I don’t approve of making her a bigger target.” Jaden sighs, rubbing his hand through his glossy black hair. “Your subjects are just getting used to the idea of her as your mate. This might stir up more anger and resentment.”
“But if she has a title of her own, then she will gainmorerights and privileges as a resident in Elfhame.”
“What happens if we aren’t around when someone comes after her? She almost died last time.” Jaden brings his sword up to begin a challenge.
“Someone might come after her, no matter what we do,” I remind him. “At least as an ambassador, she is officially a protected resident. Even our court-unrecognized mate bond doesn’t afford her that status.” I raise my sword, showing him I’m ready to spar. “Besides, I don’t plan on leaving her alone—ever again.”
“I agree, butisthat always possible?” Jaden swings his sword. “Or is it how she should have to live? In constant fear and needing our protection?”
I block Jaden’s blade and nimbly step back. “Idon’t get to be completely alone. That is the life of royalty and even for yourself, as my constant protector. Wyn was born a royal. She was born into danger—with a target on her head, crowned or not. She was traded as a baby and was in danger while growingup with Merlara. And now, she is part of my court. But being an ambassador earns her status and more protection.”
Jaden nods and puts me through my paces of combat exercises. “You realize she can’t even defend herself with a blade? Not without severe punishment if she were to be caught.”
“Then I will change the laws concerning humans in Elfhame and weapons.”
Jaden frowns. “Your father would never allow that.”
“I suppose not—or not willingly.” I lose focus and lower my guard, leaving myself open to attack.
Jaden smacks my shoulder with the flat of his blade.
Startled into paying attention to the exercise, I leap forward with a grimace and thrust my blade at Jaden, hoping to take him by surprise.
Jaden jumps out of the blade’s trajectory and slaps my blade away and out of my hand.
I frown at my lost sword on the ground. “More and more, I believe I need to remove my father from his throne. But I’m not strong enough.” I eye my weapon as if it has failed me. “I’m not skilled enough.”
Jaden drops his sword to his side and raises his eyebrows in concern. “You think you have it in you to kill him? Because that’s the only way he will step down.”
“I don’twantto kill him, but if he puts our entire kingdom at risk…”
Jaden sighs heavily and adds what I don’t say, “And if he comes after Wyn.”
