I gasp for air. “I think… I saw Twyla’s life… through her eyes.”

“What?” Eldrin grasps my arm in alarm as if he’s worried that I’m about to be snatched away from him again.

Placing a hand on me as well, Jaden looks to Oakes for answers. “How can that be?”

“I don’t know. This is all new to me.” Oakes soothes me with long strokes down my back.

“Do you think Twyla wanted us to trigger Wyn’s changeling mark?” Eldrin asks, his tone is suspicious. “And that’s why she told me to use the mark during our mating?”

“So she can have a deeper connection to Wyn… and you?” Jaden asks what Eldrin doesn’t want to vocalize. “To spy on us?”

I shake my head, not wanting to fall into paranoia over my changeling sister. “But then, why would I seeherlife? I doubt a spy would want that.”

“True.” Oakes rubs his chin as he thinks about the possibilities. “However, Twyla may be able to see into your mind, too. She might have more control over it. You might not even know when she sees through your eyes.”

I shiver at that thought. The lack of privacy alone is horrifying. But that she might use my connection to my mates to spy on me for King Magnus is scarier.

“Or this is only a fluke, and it won’t happen again,” I say, to stay positive. “Perhaps my mark was just reconnecting with Twyla after our ceremony.”

Despite my attempt to downplay what’s happened, I curl up into a ball on the bed, unsure of what’s truly going on. I’m fearful of the consequences of my mating with the males. What if I opened them up for a psychic attack through our connection?

Oakes wraps a blanket around my naked form. “The mark is returning to normal.”

“See, no need to worry then,” I say unconvincingly, with a slight tremor in my voice. “Right?”

“It’s a good sign. Let’s just keep an eye on it,” Eldrin says, trying to reassure me.

“If you feel the same sensation or anything else strange, let us know. Immediately,” Jaden instructs, his voice strained.

“But I’m feeling so strange already. I can feel all of your emotions for me right now, and it’s overwhelming. I don’t think I can distinguish what might be something to worry about. Unless it’s an invasive vision like I just had of Twyla.”

“She has a point,” Oakes agrees. “I should stay with you today and train you in the basics for some blocking techniques that I have used to manage my gift. I should teach you this anyway, since you are psychically linked with the three of us now. I know exactly how unsettling it can be to feel so much.”

“Good idea.” Eldrin bends down and kisses my temple. “It will be alright, Wyn. I didn’t mean to upset you.”

I smile weakly at Eldrin and Jaden. “I can feel your concern for me, but I’ll be fine. Didn’t Mage Neven say this was all meant to be?”

“Yes.” Jaden presses a kiss to my lips. “You’re right. We are your fated.”

“Now that is cleared up and settled, we should have breakfast and start our day.” Eldrin claps his hands happily, trying to lighten the mood. “After I finish my princely chores, I will need some quality time withmyprincess.” He waggles his eyebrows.

“Ourprincess,” Jaden reminds him.

“Myprincess andyourlove,” Eldrin jokes. “Oakes’ treasure.”

I laugh. “Behave, you brash Elven younglings!”

“Younglings!” Jaden smirks. “I must say, being mated to you, I feel the excitement of a fledgling again.” He kisses me passionately, and I’m gasping for air when he’s done.

Eldrin chuckles and rolls his eyes. “At this rate, we will never eat.” After he shrugs on his pants, he hands Jaden my dress. “We have to keep Wyn’s energy up if we are going to keep her entertained all evening. So food, then kissing.”

“True words.” Jaden raises his eyebrows. “My prince, I see that your wisdom is finally shining through.”

“Apparently, I just had to find a proper teacher.” Eldrin nods at me. “InWynstelle.”

“Oh, you wound me!” Jaden exclaims in mock pain.

I sit quietly, watching my males in their joyful banter. Even with the question about my mark, they seem more relaxed than ever before. And through my bond, I sense it isn’t a show for my sake. There’s something more to our joining the night before, as if their friendships were mended with the mate bonds created between us. My concerns about their jealousy fall away.
