I’m the first to wake up, which is unusual, my mates always seem to wake and open their eyes at the same moment as I do. Since I never have much of a chance to watch them sleep, I study the three males around me.
Eldrin’s straight white-blond hair falls around his exquisitely masculine face. His Elven pointed ears barely peek out from beneath his silky mane. A smile is painted on his mouth.
I allow my new mate bond to reach out to him, sensing his heart. He is genuinely happy. My heart glows, thinking about how I have contributed to his joy.
Eldrin has grown into a kind and generous male in the time I have known him. He has awakened in me the ability to claim what I need in life.
I wonder what else we can reveal within each other in the years to come.
Oakes curls up on a chaise lounge, a throw blanket barely covering his naked form. My gaze travels to the deep v of his lower abdomen, and I wish the blanket would fall all the way off his body. My skin yearns to feel his electric touch. He was the first male to stir my need for physical contact. For affection. For the desire to have a mate.
I don’t know exactly why Oakes loves me. But does it matter? He does. I can feel his love through our mate bond. The bigger question is, why can’t I get enough of him?
In the bed next to me, Jaden sucks in a breath. I wonder if I have stirred too much and woken him, but his breathing returns to the slow, even rhythm of sleep. His dark locks frame his gorgeous face. Without his mesmerizing violet eyes to fall into, I’m able to focus on his Elven beauty. It’s odd that somehow he can project his passionate and fierce nature even while he sleeps. He mirrors my darkest part, the rebel. And he loves me for my rule-breaking ways.
My heart warms with all my loving thoughts of my males. I gaze appreciatively at the muscular, semi-naked forms of the three beautiful males who have chosen to mate with me, and suddenly I feel my insides heat with budding arousal.
Jaden’s eyes pop open, sensing my need. He grins wickedly and says in a gravelly voice, “Hello, my love.”
I avert my gaze. Am I a creepy imp for staring at them in their sleep?
His hand reaches out to cup my face to keep my gaze on him.
“Do you need some morning loving?” Jaden asks, his voice laced with his need to touch me, too. Without my nightdress on, his hand slips down and easily cups my mound.
I suck in a breath at his seductive words and his heated touch.
The quiet sound I make wakes Eldrin, who immediately senses my craving. He strokes my hip with his silky touch. “Does my princess need some attention?”
“No.” I squirm with need even through my flimsy protest. “I’m still a little sore from last night.”
“I can help with that,” Oakes says suggestively from the foot of the bed.
I jump, startled that I didn’t notice him there a moment ago. “Whoa. When did you wake up?”
“Just now.”
“Shouldn’t we focus on how to stop the war?” I ask.
Eldrin kisses my cheek and then rubs his eyes awake. “Unfortunately, she has a point.”
With a growl, Jaden reluctantly agrees. “But I think your reward for a long day’s work should be to make you sore again tonight.”
“Fair enough.” I chuckle and kiss him. I turn and give Eldrin a kiss, then jump out of bed and peck Oakes lightly on the lips. “What’s the plan?”
“Jaden shouldsniffout any more traitors within the castle walls.” Eldrin smiles at his pun. “I can help research changeling lore. Oakes can keep training you on psychic protection techniques. We need to remember it’s not just the connection with Twyla that’s a threat. There are plenty of other elves in this castle who might try to invade your mind.”
“Do other elves truly try to read your minds?” I ask, a little unsettled by the idea someone might try to peek into my private thoughts.
Oakes snatches me up and holds me, allowing his warmth to distract me. “Yes, it happens. King Magnus is a master at defending his mind. His second, Commander Turgon, is too. I taught Eldrin to block out most creatures with a psychic ability, which includes a small percentage of elves.”
“Despite that, Mage Neven seems to get inside our minds.” Eldrin frowns as he admits this concerning fact.
“Or she is just highly skilled in the powers of deduction, as all Seers should be,” Oakes says, then kisses the top of my head and presses into my body with his hardened morning cock.
“You are distracting me now!” I laugh.
“See, you are already learning to identify when someone uses misdirection toenteryou.”
