I can’t stop thinking about how her body was writhing under mine in the bed.

And now? I have her tied up in my room. All I can think about is climbing on top of her and rutting her until we are both sated…

But this will not end well—mostly for her.

As I exit the control room, I glance down the hall and see my bedroom door is open and the bed empty.

Rok must have marched in there after he left us. He’s probably giving the human a hard time while he performs a check up on her in the med bay. There’s no way Leva let her free again.

Zeek follows me to clean up the mess the human made in the storage area, and we stroll past the opened med bay door, I notice that Rok and the human aren’t inside.

“Zeek?” I look at him to confirm what I can’t believe. “Where is Gemma? And Rok?”

I fear Rok has taken measures into his own hands and air-locked her. I can’t believe he would do that without my permission.

Well, that isn’t true. I can in this circumstance—in our frexed up situation.

His animal is so close to the surface, it’s a wonder he can function at all. Mine is bucking to be let out too. I’ll have to give Rok credit later for at leasttryingto behave.

But not now.

Now, we need to rescue her. Although, it might be too late.

“Find them!” I order Zeek. His already large golden eyes widen more. It’s dawning on him what’s likely happening.

I rush toward the air-lock. Zeek runs in the opposite direction—to our sleeping quarters.

Rok wouldn’t carry her off to his room, would he?

Frex.He might.I did!

I crash into the air-lock hatch and peer into the tiny chamber. It’s cleaned out—used recently. I run back to follow Zeek to Rok’s room.

Zeek already has Rok pinned against the corridor wall. “What did you do to Gemma?” our usually amenable packmate demands.

“I didn’t do anything to her!” Rok looks to me for help and asks, “What’s happened?”

“She’s gone! Disappeared!” I pound my fist into my palm.

Zeek releases his grip on Rok, recognizing that our grumpy friend didn’t hurt her.

“Did you ask Leva?” Rok asks with a knowing glower.

Of course!

What is going on with our ship?

“No,” I snap. “Leva seems to fight us on every turn lately.”

Rok ignores me and asks the console near his bedroom’s entrance, “Leva, where’s the human?”

Leva’s answer pops up on the screen. “Coffin.”

“What the frex?” Zeek curses and runs faster than I’ve ever seen him move.

We all scrabble into the room near the control room and, sure enough, Gemma is trapped inside the space coffin. She has activated it, and slowly, the air is being sucked out to make it space-worthy. She is pounding weakly on the sealed case as she suffocates and loses strength.

Zeek panics and glances around for us to help. “How do we open it?”
