Thomas chuckles, his large hand rubbing up and down my back. “Sorry, baby girl, I’m not going anywhere. I’m in this for better or worse."
“But I'm gross,” I whine.
“I think you're gorgeous,” he murmurs, pressing a kiss to my back before getting up. I take a few moments to breathe, praying to whatever gods are listening to make the feeling of death go away.
Thomas comes back with a glass of water and a cool cloth and sits on the edge of the tub. “Thanks.” I take the water with a shaky hand and sip the cool liquid.
He presses his hand to my forehead. “You don’t feel warm.”
“I don’t think it’s the flu.”
“All you had to eat today was bacon and the salad for lunch. Which, in my opinion, is not enough food, by the way,” he scolds playfully. “So, I’m not sure if it’s the food either.”
“I’m glad it’s all I ate,” I groan as I press the cool cloth against my face. “Would have made bringing it all back up a lot worse.
He pauses for a moment, brows furrowing as he thinks. “Back before you came to Snow Valley, did you have morning sickness?”
“No...” I say slowly. When I think about it, I didn’t feel off at all. I didn't notice the changes in my body until after I found out I was pregnant. “Not once.”
He gives me a sympathetic look. “I did some reading about morning sickness. While it usually starts within the first few weeks of pregnancy and only lasts a month or two, it can hit you at any point in your pregnancy and isn’t limited to daytime.”
I look at him in horror. “Don’t say that!” I hiss. “No. No. Noooo!” My lower lip trembles. “I hate puking.”
“Shhh.” He joins me on the floor, grabbing my legs and pulling me towards him before picking me up and placing me on his lap. I whimper again, hugging him, just wishing the gross feeling would go away.
Sadly, it doesn’t, and I’m rushing to shove my head in the toilet again.
“How is she doing?” I hear Aiden ask sometime later.
“Good chance it might be morning sickness,” Thomas answers.
“Hey, baby, how are you feeling?” Aiden crouches down next to me.
“Like death.” I glare up at him. “But I think I’m done.”
Aiden helps me to my feet, and I go to the sink to rinse my mouth and brush my teeth. When I’m done, he scoops me in his arms and takes me to bed.
“I wanted to set up my nest,” I pout.
“You can do that later. For now, we can all cuddle and watch a movie in bed. How about that?” Aiden asks, climbing into bed.
“Okay,” I sigh as Nolan joins me on my other side. I curl up on his ches,t and we watch a movie.
I guess I fell asleep at some point because the next time I wake up, it’s dark outside. But there’s only two of my men in the bed with me.
Slipping out from between Thomas and Nolan, I leave the room in search of my other Alpha.
There's a low hum coming from the back of the house. Following it, I end up where Aiden’s been working on some renovations. He said most of it was done while I was gone, but he’s been slowly working on the finishing touches.
I had no idea what he was doing, and when I asked, he said I'd find out soon.
As I pull back the plastic that's separating this part from the rest of the house, I pause, wondering if I should head back to theroom and leave Aiden in peace. If he wanted me to see what he was doing, he would have shown me by now.
But as I stand and listen, I hear his low singing. Instantly, it has a smile spreading across my face.
It’s like a spell, drawing me towards him. Taking in the new additions, I notice it’s just... rooms? Okay, all I can see is doors, but I’m assuming they lead to rooms. What's inside them, I have no idea.
Following his singing, I stop at one of the doors. It’s cracked open, the soft glow of a light shining through.
