Why can’t a pack of Alphas show up at my door and save me?
Chapter 3
Nolan
“Nolan!” Aiden shouts, startling me out of my own thoughts.
“Sorry, what were you saying?” I ask, looking away from the window. I’ve spent the last hour thinking about the pretty blonde Omega from the grocery store.
There’s something about her that immediately caught my attention. And now I’ll never see her again, never get to talk to her. I should have asked her for her number or at least her full name.
“I said that it’s coming down hard out there.”
I look back out the window. “Yeah. Good thing we did that stock up and chopped enough wood for the next week. Hopefully, the storm won’t last too long.”
“Guess we’re taking the Christmas holiday off after all,” Thomas cuts in, coming into the living room. “Here.” He hands me a cup of coffee, and I smile as he places a kiss on my lips.
“Thanks, babe.” I moan as I sip my drink. “I needed this.”
“Better watch that moaning, or we’re going to have a repeat of this morning.” Thomas grins. My cock stirs as I think about how Thomas fucked me so damn good while Aiden fed me his cock.
“I’m not sure I see any issues there.” I grin back, shooting him a wink. He gives me a deep chuckle before heading back to cook supper.
Our life is perfect here in Snow Valley. We all run our own businesses in town. I own The Hearty Bean, a café. Thomas owns the hunting goods shop, and Aiden runs a construction company.
We’re a pack, a family. I love them, and they love me. But even though our lives are good, they’re Alphas. They take amazing care of me, and for the most part, I enjoy it. But I’m not an Omega. I don’t have the need to be cared for all the time. I like my independence.
Our not having an Omega isn’t for lack of trying, either. We’ve done it all—Omega centers, dating sites, meeting Omegas in town. But none of them felt right, none of them were meant to be a part of this family.
We’re not getting any younger. I’m thirty-five, Thomas is thirty-nine, and Aiden is forty-two. The idea of us being fathers, being husbands seems like a dying dream at this point, and I hate seeing my lovers hurt.
Maybe that’s why I’m so fixated on the Omega from the store. Something tells me if the guys were with me, they would have felt the same way. I didn’t see any mate marks, at least none that were visible.
And she was alone. No Alpha would be able to be away from their Omega for too long or be too far away.
It’s been twenty-four hours, and I still can’t get her out of my head.
Sipping my coffee, I watch the snow continue to fall. It’s pretty now that the winds have died down.
Then something catches my eye. “Ahh, guys.”
“Yeah?” Aiden answers.
“Does anyone live nearby?”
I look over to Aiden, his brows furrowing as he thinks. “No.” He shakes his head. “Not really. Someone owns a cabin up the mountain, but it’s pretty much abandoned. Jimmy and Theresa take care of it for the owner. Why?”
“Because–” I look back out the window and point. “There’s smoke coming from that direction.”
“What?” Aiden leans his large body in, his campfire smell invading my senses. I shake my head, not letting his yummy scent get to me. “Well, shit.” He stands back up.
“We should go check and see if they’re okay. We can take the snowmobiles up there,” Thomas suggests. “It’s odd that there’s smoke coming from that direction, but if someone is staying in that cabin, there could be a chance they’re not used to staying in the mountains.”
“I mean, we have nothing better to do,” Aiden comments. “I’m already getting fucking cabin fever.”
“We could always fuck to pass the time.” I give him a cheeky grin. He growls, making me shiver and my cock twitches.
“Nolan, do you not want to be able to sit for a week? Because that can be arranged.”
