“Morning,” I greet them softly with a small smile.
This is weird, but a good weird, you know? Everything is new and exciting. I’m still kind of processing that this is even real.
The Alpha’s continue to stare at me, and I start to get even more nervous.
“For fuck's sake,” Nolan mutters, pushing up from where he was sitting at the table. “Stop staring at her like that. You’re freaking her out.”
Nolan steps around Thomas and comes over. He chuckles, looking down at me. I bite my lower lip, smiling up at him. He leans in, brushing his lips against my ear, making me suck in a breath. “Good choice on the hoodie. Keep wearing their clothes, and it’s going to drive them wild.” I laugh softly as he pulls back. “And a very good morning to you.”
He presses a kiss to my lips, and I sigh. It almost comes out as a whimper, filled with so much relief.
“Food,” Aiden blurts. Nolan chuckles against my lips.
“What about food, big guy?” he asks Aiden.
I look over, biting the inside of my cheek to stop myself from grinning at how adorably flustered Aiden looks right now. Where did the act-first-think-later Alpha go?
Yesterday, he was barging into my cabin, kissing me like I was the air he needed to breathe, and now he looks like a shy teenager.
He clears his throat, shooting a glare at Nolan, who just grins back. Aiden looks at me. “I made you breakfast. Come, sit,” he instructs, pulling a chair out for me.
“Thank you,” I tell him, taking a seat. He comes back a moment later and places a plate of eggs, bacon, and toast down on the table in front of me.
“This looks so good,” I groan, grabbing a strip of crispy bacon.
“Is there anything else you want?” Aiden asks. “What would you like to drink?”
“Coffee,” I grumble. “But sadly, I can’t have that.”
“Actually, you can have up to one cup a day,” Nolan points out.
“She can?” Thomas asks.
“I couldn't sleep so I did some reading last night—learned a lot about pregnancy."
“Hey, that's not fair. You're getting a head start,” Aiden mutters, taking a seat next to Nolan.
“Looks like you'll need to catch up.” Nolan laughs.
The guys sit on the opposite end of the table from me.
“What’s wrong?” Thomas notices me frowning.
“Why are you all over there?” I ask, hating the fact that I feel so open and exposed. They’re too far away, I don’t like that.
“We didn’t want to smother you,” Thomas explains, looking down at Nolan. “You said we were being clingy.”
“No,” Nolan corrects with a laugh. “I said you were being creepy.” I raise a brow as Thomas frowns. “You were watching her sleep.”
That makes me grin. “Really?”
“What?” Thomas’ eyes snap up to mine. He looks a little flustered. “No. I mean, yes. Kind of. But not in a creepy way.” He glares down at Nolan before looking back up to me. “I just wanted to make sure you were okay.”
“He wanted to make sure you didn’t leave,” Nolan outs him.
“What the fuck, Nol,” Thomas growls.
“If we’re going to make this work, we need to be honest. We’ve all been affected by what happened. And while it’s no one's fault, but...” He shakes his head. “You know who, that doesn’t mean we haven’t dealt with our own fears and insecurities. This is new and our second chance at having what we should have had this whole time. No tip-toeing around anyone. We come out with our feelings right here, right now.”
