Thomas leaves, shaking his head and I quietly put a pair of boxers on before slipping into bed with Violet. She makes a little satisfied sound as she cuddles up to me in her sleep. I smiledown at her, kissing the top of her head before placing my cheek there.

I hate to leave Violet, but Nolan has her, and I want to see how Aiden’s doing. It’s safe to say we’ve all been on edge since we got home.

Opening the shower door, I’m hit with a face full of steam. Closing the door behind me, I lean against it as I watch the naked man in the shower.

My eyes trail down his body as he tips his head back and just stands there under the running water, eyes closed.

He’s so damn beautiful. Ten years together, and I’m still as crazy about this man as I was the first time I laid eyes on him.

Unsure if he knows that I’m here or not, I decide to join him, ridding myself of my clothes.

He sighs, his body visibly relaxing. “Hi.”

“How are you?” I ask, searching his face for the truth.

“I’m not sure,” he answers honestly. “I’m pissed off with this fucking town and with the bullshit cops in it. I’m sick and tired of people using money to get what they want, allowing mentally unstable people to fuck with other’s lives. Why us, Thomas?What is so damn special about us that has her going to this level of stalking. She’s messing with our Omega.”

“I know. I know.” I rub my hands up and down his arms, trying to soothe him. “Honestly, I don’t know. I do know why I’m so head over heels for the lot of you.” I grin, hoping to make him smile, but he doesn’t. I sigh in defeat. “We’ll go down to the courthouse and get the restraining order tomorrow. At least then she won’t be able to come near us or our Omega.”

“That hasn’t stopped her before,” Aiden growls.

“I talked to Ricky when she showed up at the cafe. I told him if she breaks her order again, we’re going to take things further up the chain than him. He seemed visibly startled. So I think he got the message into his head.”

“I’m not going to hold my breath. I say we just fucking do it anyway. Find a number and call. Hell, maybe even have a chat with a judge and see what they can do about it.”

Without her being charged with something, our hands were tied when it came to what the judge could do. Or, maybe he was in her pocket, too, and the only thing he’s willing to do is grant the orders.

I don’t fucking know, and I hate it. This town has never been like this before. Sylvia’s family has always lived here, but she didn’t. She was away at boarding schools from a young age. No one knew who she was or how she would behave until she showed up in town a few years ago.

I wish she just stayed wherever the fuck she was, seeing as how no one in Snow Valley likes the girl, and with good cause.

We’re the only town for hours around, so going to another police station isn’t an option. They would only tell us it wasn’t in their jurisdiction, and there would be nothing they could do anyway.

“We’re supposed to be protecting her, and here she can’t even go out without being harassed by our own personal stalker.”

“It was just some words, words that Violet didn’t take to heart. She knows the truth.”

“She had to pull a gun on her, Thomas!” Aiden growls.

“Violet said she overreacted. And I’m not saying I agree with that because I think the bitch deserved a good scare. But Violet said that Sylvia didn’t put her hands on her.”

“She tried to buy our fucking baby,” Aiden deadpans.

“Okay, so the woman is fucking crazy,” I sigh.

“Why are you not more pissed about this!”

“I am!” I shout in his face. “I’ve been trying with everything inside me to keep my fucking cool and not go down to her house and burn it to the ground,” I snarl. “But that would get me locked up. And Violet doesn’t need that. We’ll do what we can, when we can. And if Sylvia doesn’t fuck off, we make calls; we’ll do whatever we can to have someone hear us. But I’m telling you right now, we’re on our own because no one is going to make a fuss over a girl with a big mouth and crazy words. She didn’t threaten to hurt anyone. She didn’t try anything physical. All we have on her is her words. The best we can do right now is the restraining orders. I feel lost and helpless, Aiden, but I’m trying my fucking best to keep it together for this pack. For our Omega. For the baby, she’s growing inside her.”
