The lookon his face when he suddenly stands is comical. And I know I’m in trouble when he realizes it’s me. I’ve only ever seen that look when we’re in the bedroom. When would I ever get the chance to surprise him like that again? Never. The punishment will be well worth it.

Grabbing me around the waist, he kicks the door closed and slams me up against it. Not hard but it takes me by surprise. Glaring down at me, he watches me lick my lower lip. It’s a sure fire turn on for him and I know it. My bad, teasing him when we can’t scratch the itch until much later.

“Glad you could make it, Beauty. Just know that next time you touch my ass, you’ll be naked with me buried inside of your sweet cunt.” Why does that word turn me on? Maybe it’s not the word but the man behind it.

“Is that a promise, Fast Hands?”

“Oh, you can bet on it.” With his hands on the roof of the car, he presses his body against mine, caging me in. His warm breath skates across my cheek, sending shivers and lust throughout my body. Pinching the bridge of his nose, he mutters, “Give me a few minutes, Beauty.” And I do.

Not long after, he threads his fingers with mine and we walk into the hospital together.

“I was so excited when I read your text that I called your mom to tell her Melody was in labor. She told me to close up early so here I am.”

“You have no idea how glad I am that you’re here. I can’t imagine listening to all of them talk about babies for hours on end.” Oh, he thinks it’s bad now, just wait until the baby pictures start pouring in.

I’m almost disappointed when he doesn’t ravish my mouth in the elevator, but it’s understandable. There’s no way he’d be able to control his hunger for a second time in such a short time.

“Hey, Lyric!” The whole band chimes in unison as we walk through the ward door.

“Any news on how the expectant mother’s doing?” I ask as we sit down.

“Not a word. I get they’re a bit busy but this waiting’s killing me.” Poor Jaxon. I totally understand. It’s the hardest part.

“Yeah, I sure could use a cup of coffee. Anyone want anything while I’m there?” Ace asks. We all give him our orders and Harmony goes with him to help. Jaxon continues playing on his phone.

We all glance up when an older couple enters the room. Jaxon stands and walks over to give the woman a hug. “Glad you could both make it. No news on Melody yet.”

“I’m not surprised,” she says. “First babies like to hang out in there where it’s safe and warm. Has she had an epidural yet?”

“Nope, she refused,” Jaxon says. The woman groans and I so get it.

“That girl is as stubborn as her mother,” the gentleman pipes in. Which earns him a loving punch in the arm.

“Oh, my bad,” Jaxon says. “Mom, Jim, this is Micah’s girlfriend, Lyric.” Ah, I should have known she was related to Melody. They look alike.

“Nice to meet you both. Is this going to be your first grandchild?” She sits down next to me, and I’m immediately drawn to her.

“Call me Trish. It’s nice to meet you, Lyric. Is it that obvious?” She chuckles.

“Not at all. I just assumed since Jaxon’s not married.”

“I don’t need to be married to be a father, Lyric.” Ouch, I pushed the wrong button.

Micah tenses and I know he’s ready to call him out when Ace and Harmony save the day. “Did Melody have the baby yet?” Ace asks as he doles out the beverages.
