“I’m usually not. That’s until you came along. Let’s get back to messy. You’ve looked beautiful every time I’ve seen you… but maybe I need to see your apartment first. I might have to skip dinner.” A contagious laugh bursts out from within her, and I find myself doing the same.
Once we get to her apartment, she unlocks the door and we step in. I remove my sunglasses. This might be the only time I’ve ever been glad to be color-blind. With the number of different shades of gray, I have a feeling this room is an explosion of color. Straight ahead is the living room. On the coffee table is a laundry basket, overflowing with clothes. Clean or not? Don’t know. Pillows from the couch are on the floor next to a couple of magazines and sneakers. A blanket sits in a ball on the couch along with a pair of jeans. A towel hangs over the armrest.
She places the laptop on the kitchen table to the right of the living room. A couple of black bras hang off one of the chairs. She snatches them up and tosses them in the laundry basket. Maybe they aren’t black. I wish I could see their color. But then again, black is always sexy.
“Sorry.” She shrugs and grins confidently at me. I love it that she doesn’t give a shit. “I warned you. It’s a big difference from the gallery office.” She grabs the basket and walks toward a hallway. “I’m going to get changed. Give me a few minutes. Make yourself at home.”
“I’ll be here.”
“There are some art magazines on the floor by the couch. Oh, and there’s an awesome review about the opening if you haven’t seen it yet. It’s on the kitchen table.” I hear a door close.
“Get dressed,” I shout. “I’m hungry. Think about what you want to eat.”
I could swear she just saidyou. But maybe that was just me.
“Sushi?” she calls out.
There was a time I thought I’d never let sushi pass my lips, but then I lost a bet to Daisy. I had to eat it. It’s been an addiction ever since.
“Sounds good.” I walk through the living room and snoop around. There’s a container full of rubber bands on the coffee table. What kind of fetish is this? I chuckle to myself.
I scan the pictures on her shelves. There’s one of Skylar with an older woman in a simple wedding dress. It could be her mom. Skylar looks gorgeous. In another picture, I recognize her sister, Lacey, the one I met at the gallery the other day. And Sky is in a string bikini that does very little to cover up her perfect breasts. My mouth goes dry. She is by far the sexiest woman I’ve ever met. Why do I have to be color-blind? I’d do anything to see the colors of her bikini, her flawless skin, her hair, and the color of her gorgeous eyes, reflecting off the ocean.
I look a little closer. The two guys in the picture look like twins. One is next to Skylar and the other is next to her sister. They look like the shirtless guy at the gallery. Lacey’s boyfriend. I cringe, thinking about how jealous I was when I saw him through the window.
A cloud of Skylar’s fresh vanilla scent fills the air around me. “That’s Lacey,” she says. “You met her on Sunday. And Will and Josh. They’re twins. Ready to go?”
I turn around and take a step back.Blink, blink. “Wow… You’re stunning.” Her hair is pulled up with tendrils falling around her face. My lips ache to kiss her bare neck. She’s wearing a light-colored, sleeveless long-pants jumpsuit that ties at the ankles. Slits in the fabric expose the skin of her calves. Her strappy shoes show off her toe ring.
She puts her hands on her cheeks. “Stop looking at me like that. You’re making me blush.” I remove her hands from her face and tug her toward me.
“Why? It’s true.”
“Show me with a kiss then.”So bossy. I love it.
Her hypnotizing eyes hold my gaze. I inch closer, then trace her lower lip with my thumb. “What if I can’t stop?”
“What if I don’t want you to?” One side of her mouth curls up. “If it’s anything like the other day…”
This time I’m not going for fast and hard. I want all my heat to transfer to every part of her body. I wrap one arm around her slender waist and gently pull her toward me. I skim my lips over hers, just long enough to tease her. She closes her eyes, and her lips part in anticipation. I’m already hard and I haven’t even kissed her yet.
I rest my other hand on her shoulder and rub my thumb below her ear. Her body quivers in response. She licks her lips. “You’re killing me.”
“That’s the purpose.”
I kiss the corners of her mouth, then our lips connect. The taste of her is a delicacy. It’s a treat every time. Her tongue teases my lips open, searching for mine. And when they connect, taking it slow is history. She wraps her arms around my back, and I let my hands get lost in her hair. I release her wanton mouth and find her soft neck. A gasp escapes from her as I suck, nip and tease from her ear down to her collarbone. Her pulse point races against my needy lips. My desire urges me to move farther down, but I resist.
Grumble. Growl.
I freeze. What the hell?
She giggles, pulls away, and rubs her belly. “Sorry. I’m starving.”So am I.
Once I can breathe normally, and she fixes her hair, I intertwine my fingers with hers. “Let’s get some food in you. I don’t want you passing out on me.”
“My favorite sushi bar is about a fifteen-minute walk from here. Want to check it out?”
“I’m high on you right now, so I’ll do whatever you want.”
