Raff rolls to the side and lies back with his eyes closed. A chuckle breaks free from me and soon I’m giggling so hard I’m doubled up, then, when my hand touches the cold, sticky mess on my stomach, I laugh even harder. Eventually getting myself back under control, I wipe the tears from my eyes. I look at Raff who has turned on his side, his head propped up on his hand. The bemused expression on his face has my lips twitching again but, before I can start to laugh, Raff angles in and captures my lips.
Brushing his mouth almost casually across mine before pressing harder for a moment, he moves away again. My tongue darts out, sliding over my lip to capture his flavor; his eyes follow its path, a small smile appearing at the corner of his mouth.
“Let’s shower. I think you need a hose down, baby; there’s a ton of cum over your delicious body.” Raff jumps out of bed but waits for me to, less gracefully, clamber after him. Taking my hand, he ushers me into the shower.
I knew waking Troy up like this was a gamble, but one I was prepared to take. Waking up, I found Troy lying on his stomach, his delicious ass bare where the covers had been pushed down. I can’t believe he didn’t rant. I still don’t understand what the hell Drake was doing here, but I smell a rat. Something more is going on, there is no way Drake simply turned up. He’s up to no good, the question is, why? This whole clusterfuck affects me, too; we still have to work with Mason tomorrow and I know Troy dreads it as much as I do. My mind wanders back to my father. I never wanted to see him again and now I find out the asshole has been keeping a track on me. What was he expecting me to do? Show everyone what a sadistic bastard he is? Fuck no! I don’t even want to be in the same room with him, or share the same goddamn air he’s breathing.
But I am here, soaping the divine body of a man who, last night, teetered on the brink of walking away. I don’t deserve him, but I’m going to keep him close to me today—keep him focused on us, on me. On how much he means to me. Shit! I’ve become a sappy bastard.
“What’s going on up there, sweetheart?” Troy’s voice penetrates my dark thoughts; I realize I still hold the sponge in my hand but have stopped washing Troy’s back.
“Nothing, babe. Just wondering how the fuck I was lucky enough to end up here with you.” I kiss his upturned face.
“Bullshit, don’t give me that crap! What is really going on?” Troy’s irate face is cute as fuck but his temper isn’t, so I nod.
“Okay, you want a rundown of what was going on?” I don’t wait for him to reply, “First, I was thinking how the fuck I got away with what I did to you just now,” I hold my finger up to his lips to keep him quiet, “then I thought how incredible you were to accept and agree to bring that asshole, who happens to by my father, down and how much I never want to see him again; I want to see him locked up. I was also thinking about what the fuck was going on last night with my ex, because I think there is more to it than him just turning up, so I need to get someone to investigate that for me.” I give him a look that stops him from asking further.
“Okay then, no more questions from me. So now, would you like to carry on washing my back? I was kind of liking that.” With a little wink, he turns around to present me with his back.
“I think I can do that.” I grin and carry on with the task at hand, and a heck load more.
“Shall we go out for breakfast?” Troy asks me as we finish dressing. “I’ll call Nico and Ryan and we can get our heads together to find out what your asshole boyfriend is doing over here.”
“Sure, I’ll see if Corrie wants to come, too.”
An hour later, we settle down in Macy’s Diner with huge plates of bacon, eggs, hash browns, and pancakes.
“You two must have burnt off plenty calories this morning, to want to eat all that.” Corrie smirks at me and Troy.
“Fuck off, baby brother.” I retort, “Jealous much?”
“Too fucking right I am, do you have any idea when I last got laid?” I watch some unknown emotion flit across his face and then it’s gone.
After laughing at him and getting his middle finger back at me, I look over to Nico and Ryan. “I want to talk about what happened last night. First, thanks for being there to back me up.” I look at them and they accept, mumbling ‘anytime’ at me.
“I think there is more to this than my ex turning up out of the blue. I haven’t seen or heard from him since I chucked his cheating ass out. So, who sent him here? And, what did they expect to achieve from it?” I observe Troy and my heart contracts in my chest at how much shit has been thrown at him since I showed up in his life. His smile allows my heart to relax and beat again. Reaching across the table, his hand covers mine. Flipping it over, I slide my fingers between his and hold on.
“We need to get Cole on it; he can start checking him out. You’ll have to give him all the info you have on him. He shouldn’t be too difficult to find.” Nico pulls out his cell and brings up Cole’s number.
“So, is there any news on the court date yet?” Ryan drags my attention away from Nico’s conversation with his security guy. Troy stiffens next to me; Ryan picks up on it immediately and offers a small smile. “I can take Troy’s reaction as a yes. So, what’s happening?”
Still holding Troy’s hand, my thumb draws circles on the back of his hand, trying to keep him relaxed as he talks things through with his friend. I watch as Nico ends his call and looks up at me.
“Cole is going to start with just finding where he is now but needs you to email him everything you know about Drake Hauffman.” Nico informs us.
I advise them we will be seeing Mason this week so he can prepare us for the questions we will be asked. Troy’s grip tightens; I know he’s anxious about the next few weeks.
“How do you feel about all this, Troy?” Nico asks, his features tight with concern for the man he considers his brother.
“I just want it over with; I’m taking it day by day. I can’t believe that we have yet another problem with Raff’s ex. I agree, it all seems too staged, I don’t believe he just turned up to get Raff back; I think it’s a set up, I think someone wants to break us up.” Troy turns to me and smiles ruefully, “I’m not going to let that happen, Raff. They can throw whatever they want at us, but I’m never giving up on what we have.”
“I love you, babe.” I whisper and lean forward to kiss his beautiful mouth.
“C’mon, this has turned into a gloom-fest. Let’s not let those bastards take over our lives. Let’s get outta here.” Nico and Ryan stand up and we all copy, dropping dollars on the table, and head out into the bright sunshine.
“See you guys later.” Corrie waves and gets in his car to meet some of his buddies.
Nico and Ryan seem hesitant to leave, I don’t know what they are thinking. “Look, guys, it’s gonna be okay; Mason is confident and more than able to beat my father’s lawyer.”
