Although, it looks like Ambrose will be putting on a party of his own for the members of the company.

Then Swan and I collected our small suitcase of belongings.

Now, I slip my hand under the pillow to check that Ambrose’s jersey and rose heart notes are still safely there.

I smile, as my fingers graze the faded notes.

Juliet is the sun…

Was Ambrose only being shy last night? Awkward?

But Ambrose didn’t used to be the shy type of Alpha.

He’s more the growly dom type.

Perhaps, he’s changed. Maybe whatever gave him the scar has also wounded his heart.

But what’s it got to do withme?

Ambrose spent the journey staring out of the window, while rubbing over where the rose had pricked him. I’d been desperate to lick the blood away and soothe him.

It was Vito who met us in the grand entrance hall with a bouncing eagerness.

He was dressed in black tie with his long, raven hair tied back with a scarlet ribbon. He was wearing punky gloves and smoky eyeliner.

He pulled off the look and somehow managed to look even hotter than when we first met him in the courtyard.

I wanted to pinch myself.

“You were fucking amazing with all that jumping and spinning and shit,” Vito rambled excitedly, leading us up a grand marble staircase to a corridor with thick carpeting at the top. Ambrose didn’t follow us but it looked like it killed him not to. “I’ve never been to the ballet before. I love dancing in clubs, but wow, I’ve never seen anything like that. You were like gods.”

Swan shot me a smugtold you solook.

“You were watching us?” Joy flooded through me at the thought.

“I was in the front row, Jules.” Vito pushed open a door at the far end of the corridor. “Unfortunately, that many people all together would have been too much for Bec to cope with. My honey is already overloaded this week and pushing himself too hard. He desperately wanted to be there though. I’m busy figuring out a way for him to be part of a show. If he’s taking part and focused on his music, I think he could manage it. It’s tough for him sometimes, but whatever my honey bee needs, he’s going to get. I promised to tell him about your performance as soon as I’ve settled you guys. He’ll be disappointed in my recounting, however, because it’ll be: they spun, jumped, did this twirly thing, then kissed.”

Swan laughed. “Sounds about right.”

When I followed Vito and Swan into the bedroom, my eyes widened.

It was beautiful.

The walls were painted a soft violet like petals. A gold chandelier glowed warmly from the ceiling with matching flaming lanterns burning on the nightstands.

An antique wardrobe and chest of drawers in pretty white stood against the far wall and opposite them were floor to ceiling windows with purple drapes.

The window led out to a wide balcony.

I ran to the window.

It didn’t even have bars on it.

I tipped back my head and stared up at the inky black sky, which held the moon and stars, without being caged.

For the first time in years, I felt like I was free.

My eyes smarted with tears.
