Despite how hard her old friends worked to sabotage any potential for her happiness by continuing to post disparaging things about her online, Eva continued to shine through it. I knew there were still moments that stung for her, times when she wished none of it would have happened and things were back to the way they were.

It would have been the easier route, keeping a blind eye to all the shit Connor was doing behind her back and maintaining friendships she had clearly outgrown.

Change was difficult. I couldn’t fault her for that.

Though, my chest ached when I noticed her having a regretful moment. Because if she had not chosen to walk away from Connor and her friends, there would have been no potential for her and me. My life would be exactly as it had been. Empty.

Eva filled my world in such a meaningful way. I didn’t realize just how much I was missing out on before she came into my life. She was like a ray of sunshine beaming through the clouds after years of rain. The warmth she shined onto my heart would change me forever.

And tonight I wanted to show her how much I appreciated the way she made me feel.

“Dancing?!” she squealed with excitement.

I chuckled and nodded my head. “I’ve already talked to Lucas and Drema. They’re going to be here in a few minutes, and we’ll ride over together.”

“Garth! I can’t believe you planned this! I haven’t been dancing since that night at Bloom 31.”

Eva climbed into my lap and straddled me with her long legs. My heart jumped when she started rolling her hips against me, showing me just how much she appreciated my surprise. Goosebumps rose on my arms as she nuzzled her face into the crook of my neck and trailed featherlight kisses on my sensitive skin all the way to the edge of my jaw.

I grabbed her ass with both hands and pushed her harder against my growing erection. She yipped as I nipped at her lower lip with my teeth before pulling her in for a deep kiss. I loved the way her tiny body felt against me.

Our movements had become more fluid over time, discovering the depths of each other’s strongest desires. Just as I squeezed her ass cheeks, she trailed her fingertips along my biceps.

She let out a whimper just as a knock sounded at the door.

“That’s probably Lucas and Drema,” I whispered against her lips.

“Mmm. Can’t we just tell them to wait a little while,” she huffed as she leaned back and looked at me.

I gave her little ass a smack as she rolled off of me.

Tucking my length against the brim of my jeans, I walked toward the door.

“Don’t worry, beautiful. I’ll get you later,” I said with a wink.

“You better.”

When she sauntered up next to me in her tight running shorts and tank top, I wanted so badly to do as she told me and let Lucas and Drema wait outside the door while I worshipped her body. But my manners took over, and I swung open the door to let them in before I changed my mind.

“Hey, man! I was beginning to think you’d never let us in,” Lucas said as he gave me a quick embrace.

Drema trailed behind him and gave me a shy smile as she walked through the threshold.

“It’s nice to see you again, Drema.”

“It’s nice to see you too, Garth.”

Eva exchanged hugs with Drema and Lucas before she went off to the bathroom to get ready with Drema.

Lucas sat on the sofa across from me and took a long swig of the beer I’d handed him.

“It seems like you and Drema have sparked something,” I said as I took a sip of my own beer.

His gaze trailed over his shoulder to the corner of the loft where the girls were hiding away in the bathroom. Soft murmurs floated through the air, just low enough that we couldn’t hear what they were saying.

“Yeah, she’s pretty special. I’m just trying not to fuck it up.”

“I hear that. I think we lucked out with these two.”
