“What’s so funny?” she asks, tensing in my arms.

“Well, didn’t I tell you that you would be crawling back into my bed? I’m always right in the end,” I say, jokingly. For a brief moment, I worry that she is going to take it the wrong way and that I shouldn’t have said it at all. But she starts to giggle, and her body shakes with laughter against mine.

“Asshole,” she mutters, getting comfortable again.

I can tell when she falls asleep because her breathing changes. It becomes lighter and slower. Her entire body is relaxed in my arms.

I’m struggling again—but it’s different than it was earlier. I am not angry or moody. Now it’s just her.

Having her this close to me with the smell of jasmine on my pillow,

it’s making it nearly impossible to fall asleep. If I thought the frustration I felt before was bad, thisis ten times worse.

But I wouldn’t change it for the world.

I keep smiling in the dark, running my hand softly over her sleeping body.

She feels so incredible. Her skin is so soft, her body so warm against me. It’s as though she was made to fit up against my chest, woven into my soul and wrapped in my arms.

I close my eyes and take a deep breath. I have to sleep at some point. I can’t just lie here all night focused on her.

Yet, all night, I drift on the edges of sleep, hyperaware of her in my bed. She taunts my dreams and the scent of jasminenever leaves my mind, even subconsciously. I love it. I want this every night.

Chapter 14 - Anya

I smell his scent before I open my eyes, and then I register the fact that I am still wrapped in his arms, up against his body.

Slowly, the world becomes less of a dream and I yawn lightly, wiggling closer against him.

But I freeze. His erection is rock hard and pressing against my ass. I can hear from his breathing that he is still fast asleep. What am I supposed to do? It will be so awkward if he wakes up now. Part of mewantshim to wake up and finally give me what I’ve been waiting for—the other half of me is dying of embarrassment.

Maybe if I could just sneak out of his bed and back to my own room before he wakes up, then I could avoid the awkwardness of this situation. Fully awake now because my mind is so aware of what is going on, I shift forward to try and escape him.

Lifting his arm off my waist, I do my best to move away from him without waking him up.

I am close to the edge of the bed and his breathing hasn’t changed.

But I jump in fright when he speaks.

“That’s cute, princess. Trying to sneak off so early in the morning.”

My heart stammers in my chest. “I—I was going to make coffee.”

He grabs me around the waist and yanks me back towards his side of the bed, at the same time, he rolls me onto my back and in a flash, he is lying on top of me.

My breath catches in my throat as I stare at him. The sly grin across his face warns me I am in trouble.

Every cell in my body is screaming loudly, begging for him. The heat of his body is seeping into mine and teasing me in every way possible.

“Rodion, I can—um—I can make us coffee—“ I say, the words coming out as barely a whisper.

“Or—you can tell me the real reason you snuck into my bedroom last night.”

“Huh?”I blurt out in shock. “I have no idea what you mean.”

My cheeks are already burning bright red.

“You know exactly what I mean, princess. You didn’t come into my room to have a little chat about life.—So what was it that caused you to come looking for me?”
