It only takes minutes for him to find me.
He grabs me by the waist and says, “Damn you, woman!”
“Damn you, Levi Holt.”
His lips dig into mine. They’re Montana cold, and they’re the best goddamn lips I’ve ever tasted. “I want to come with you, but I’m scared, Carolyn… look at me. I won’t fit in.”
Is he the type who gets rattled by powerful people? It doesn’t matter if he is, because I will protect him.
I touch his glorious blond hair. “You don’t have to fit in. I just need you to be by my side,” I say. “If you—”
“Just buy the friggin’ ticket, before I change my mind.”
We scram, and we manage to complete the purchase barely a minute before check-in closes.
“Welcome back, Miss Meyer,” one of the stewardesses greets me.
“Good to see you again, Zoe.” She was one of the crew that took me here from New York. It feels like a lifetime ago.
“So, this is business class?” Levi comments as we settle into our seats.
“Enjoy it while you can,” I tease him.
“I don’t like it. I can’t even see you!” He rounds the privacy screen and comes to my side, almost taking over my chair. His head on my shoulder, I feel his Adam’s apple vibrating, releasing a series of soft growl. “I need to get off.”
Maybe I’ve met my match. This man is my soulmate, who can keep up with me in the horny department.
Getting no interest from me—an act which I struggle to put forth—Levi reluctantly goes back to his seat and straps up as the crew prepare for take-off.
After a few moments in the air, he whispers to me, “The fasten seatbelt sign has been switched off.” He gets up and comes back to my seat, eyes wandering to the restrooms.
I smirk. “You didn’t think I was serious, did you?”
He frowns. “I flew with you for nothing?”
“I can’t afford to be banned by American Airlines.” Sensing his agony, I feel his crotch. Holy bacon! He wasn’t kidding! “Seriously, go solo,” I say in a whisper, this time out of compassion. “You won’t be able to hold it for eight hours, will you?”
He grazes at my hand. “I’ll be fine.”
I love flying solo—literally, on the plane—because I don’t like to talk while travelling. But, I guess I just hadn’t found the right travel mate. With a companion like Levi, I’d want to explore the world with him. As long as he can keep his hots under control in public places. Or, does it really matter?
