“This land is ours, Saylor. After you said it, I couldn’t get it out of my mind. Getting married up here wasn’t enough, I want to build our dream house here. One we want, and one that combines our efforts. Together.”
My eyes tingle with unshed tears and a ball of emotion gets caught in my throat. “Really?”
He nods, turning my body in his arms. His fingers grip my chin, and our eyes collide. “The Jakobe house.”
“It sounds so perfect,” I breathe out, loving the ways his words wrap around my heart.
“That’s not all,” He hands me a packet.
I take it from him and open it. Pamphlets and maps fill the inside. “What is it?”
“Our new direction for Rogue. We need to think bigger. Expand. The town is outgrowing the population and we can’t stay inconspicuous if we don’t change with the times. We’re buying the rest of the land and using it for recreational sport and lodging. An extra legitimate job that will bring in revenue for this house, and for Rogue.”
“Ciaran—”
“I didn’t want you to feel bad about the cost. You’re already letting me use my savings for our wedding. I wanted a legitimate business to help. I know you have your savings too. I think we can do it with all of this.”
Pure happiness and love for this man fills every part of me. “What about the auto shop?”
“Matt and your dad are going to continue to run it. Silas, Kai and I will run this area up here. Si is the most excited I think. It feels like the cabin we used to have.”
“When can we build?” I ask, wrapping my arms around him.
“As soon as the ground thaws in the spring. By next summer our house will be done. It’s a good thing we are keeping your townhouse for a few months,” He answers, his arms tightening around me
“This is all working out almost too perfectly,” My brow rises and my eyes widen.
Ciaran’s head tips back with a laugh, my body shaking along with his. “Say, we’ve lost almost a year of time being together. I almost lost you through sheer stupidity. Do you think I’m going to leave things up to chance? You deserve perfection.”
“I don’t need Perfection, Ciaran. I just need us.” I remind him, my hands grabbing his face.
Our gazes meet and the love and adoration I feel in his eyes makes my knees weak. This is what I fight for. This future, him and me. Together we can have everything.
Saylor
The first dusting of snowflakes are falling outside, covering the ground in a magical blanket of white. I couldn’t ask for a better decoration on our wedding day. Although I know it was causing some extra work, keeping the path clear to where our ceremony will be held. Despite the snow, the temps weren’t freezing, and there was no wind. The perfect day for an outdoor, winter wedding. Running my hands slowly over the bodice of my dress, I can feel the silk, the details of the lace, and the little pearls and charms woven in. I feel like a real princess. My lips curve up, imagining what Ciaran is going to say when he sees me.
We wanted to spend our last night before the wedding together, but our friends insisted we follow tradition. Which is why I’m at Oaklynn’s place, dressed, my hair and make-up impeccable; done to perfection, and waiting for my bestie to get back from her little jaunt to the store. Lux sits quietly on Oaklynn’s bed, her phone in hand, waiting for updates from the guys, and buying us more time before we need to arrive.
“Are you sure you want to do this before the wedding?” Mila breezes in, her deep purple dress, swishing around her legs.
My brow rises. “There’s a party after the ceremony. Yes, I think it would be a good idea to find out.”
“I for one want to know how this happened so soon,” Oaklynn rushes in next, plastic bag in hand.
My cheeks heat. My fiancé is sexy as fuck. He’s giving me my dream house, my dream wedding, and dream life. I’m constantly thinking about him and his perfect dick. I also had to be on antibiotics last month, and apparently that can mess with your birth control.
“Well I didn’t know what to get him for a wedding gift,” I smirk at her, and stick out my tongue playfully.
“Lingerie, Saylor. A blow job. Tools. Something a guy wants,” Lux replies while laughing.
My shoulders lift, “Or the next generation of Rogue babies.”
“I can’t believe this,” Mila shakes her head but she is also smiling.
“Go take your test,” Oaklynn finally says, handing me the bag. “Kai has already told me that Ciaran is getting ready to come find you if we don’t leave soon.”
My fingers are shaking as I take the bag to the bathroom. Mila comes in to help hold my dress while I take the test.
