“So are you.” And he is. I’ve never felt like another human being gets me like this.
A rush of heat courses through me as a charge fills the air around us. He leans closer and the pull between us becomes magnetic. My breath catches, and I can feel the familiar sensation of butterflies fluttering around in my stomach.
My heart races like a runaway train. I can barely believe this is real, and for a moment, I’m worried it’s all just a dream.
His face is so close now with his eyes locked onto mine. They’re deep and intense, like the midnight sky above us. The hint of vulnerability shining in their depths pulls at my heart. What if I’m at home right now, lost in the depths of a dream?
“Stunning,” Asa murmurs, right before his lips brush mine, stealing my breath away completely. It’s the softest caress, nothing overwhelming, just pure magic.
If this is a dream, I never want to wake up. I could live happily here in his warm embrace for the rest of my life.
The kiss quickly ignites, sending shockwaves through my entire body, and my brain utterly shuts down. The world fades into a distant blur until the only thing I can focus on is the electric connection between us. It’s a wild, unexpected, thrilling ride.
What started as a sweet kiss under the twinkling stars escalates into something spicy almost immediately. It’s like someone hit the “on” switch for all my senses, and suddenly, I’m hyper-aware of every detail—the warmth radiating from Asa, the rough texture of the log beneath me, and the cool night air contrasting perfectly with the heat coursing through my veins.
His hands slide around my waist, and the moment those warm palms slip under the jacket, pulling me closer, fireworks explode within me. I gasp against his mouth, each pull of his body drawing me deeper into this unexpected moment.
I can feel every muscle in my body responding to him, igniting a fire that burns me from the inside out. His fingers explore the small of my back, creating a magical warmth, and I lose track of time as he devours my mouth.
Asa pulls back from the kiss, but he doesn’t go far. Instead, he leans his forehead against mine, our breaths mingling in the cool night air. The intensity of his gaze causes the butterflies in my stomach to flutter overtime. His dark eyes bore into mine, and I can almost hear my heart thudding in my ears as he quietly whispers, “I’m sending that matchmaker a big fucking bonus.”
Every nerve in my body perks up at his words, and I feel like the whole world has shrunk down to just the two of us under the vast, starry sky. I can’t help but drink in the moment. “She really deserves it,” I agree. The mysterious matchmaker really hit one out of the park with our match.
His lips curl into a sly smile, which only enhances how dangerously attractive he is. “If this is a goddamn dream, I want to stay asleep for all eternity.” Asa’s proclamation hangs heavily between us in the best way possible.
A lump forms in my throat as excitement courses through me. “I’ll stay in this fantasy forever with you.”
“Yes, you will.” He leans over and nips my earlobe, causing my mind to shatter again. “And I’m not taking things slow.”
I throw caution to the wind. “I don’t want you to.”
The cool Texas, December night turns downright cold, and we decide it’s time to end our perfect picnic. We fold the blanket and gather our snacks, and I can barely contain my excitement over how this date took an unexpected turn. Who knew the night would turn not only intense but also downright intoxicating?
We climb into his truck, the rugged interior matching his vibe perfectly, and I find myself sinking into the seat. As he drives through the winding roads of Silver Spoon Falls, the stars twinkle above us, and I feel every raw emotion dance through the air around us.
As we pull up in front of my small house, that weight settles in the air, thick with unspoken words and loaded intentions. The shadow of the moon casts an ethereal glow, amplifying the situation as Asa turns to me, his expression shifting from playfulto serious. “I don’t want the night to end,” he says, his innate intensity bubbling just beneath the surface.
“Me neither,” I find myself blurting out before I even process the words. It’s pure instinct. I want everything with Asa, and I’m not going to let anything stand in my way. My heart beats like a drum in my ears as I ask, “Why don’t you spend the night?” Oh, man. Where did the shy, nerdy bookworm go, and who is this flirty vixen who took over?
His eyes widen and he blinks several times before a satisfied smirk traverses his face. “I thought you’d never ask.” He hops out of the truck and comes around to open the door for me. “You’re goddamn stuck with me from now on,” he confesses, a blend of honesty and challenge in his voice, and I can feel the tension crackling between us like a live wire.
“Sounds like a plan,” I shoot back without thinking. It probably comes off a little too eager, but screw it. The thrill of the night has me soaring, and I’m not going to shy away now.
The minute the door closes behind us, he turns me in his arms and kisses me.
I’ve never done anything like this before, any of it, so I’m just winging it and hoping for the best while the little voice of reason in the back of my mind keeps telling me not to mess this up.
“I don’t want to mess this up.” I voice my concerns as he walks me backward towards my sofa. “I’ve never done this.”
“Me neither.” Surely, he doesn’t mean what I think he means. “You’re the first woman I ever wanted. Don’t worry about messing it up, baby. We’ll figure it out together.”
“Okay,” I whisper. His hard, thick shaft presses against my stomach, worrying me a little bit as I wonder how in the world this is going to work.
His eyes darken as he growls, “I’m going to eat you up.”
All my worries fly right out the window. “Stop talking and start eating.” My mouth is definitely running away without consulting my brain at this point.
“Fucking hell,” he groans, “you’re going to keep me on my toes.” He lifts me way the heck up against his body and heads straight down the hallway.
