Her bottom lip quivered, and she pulled away. "I can't keep doing this, Axel. You can't jerk me around. One minute you want me, and the next you push me away. And now that you know what happened I feel you're only doing this out of guilt. It was my fault. I pushed you away and I get that, but you have a life now, and that life no longer concerns me."

She bent down to pick up her shirt, and as she started to put it on, I stopped her. "What if I left?"

Her eyes grew. "What do you mean? Go back to Texas?"

I shook my head and took a step toward her. "No, what if I lefther?"

Her mouth parted. "No. You can't do that! "

I took another step toward her and placed my hands on her face drawing her in. "No one can hold a candle to you. You've always been the one I've wanted. I've been a broken man since you left, and a big piece of my heart has a gaping hole in it because of you. I've been in love with you since we were little, don't deny me this again."

She looked at my chest. "This is wrong."

"I don't care if it's wrong. I want you, scars and all." I tilted her chin towards mine and sealed her lips with a kiss. My tongue lightly traced her lips, asking for an opening. She opened up for me, twisting her fingers through my hair dragging me closer to her. Our bodies were melded together, and my dick was harder than it's ever been. She did this to me. She sent me into such a state of euphoria that left me dizzy. She was mine; she was perfect.

I knew I would get my revenge on the bastard that did this to her, but right now, I didn't care. I wanted her to escape the memories, the pain and everything else that swirled around in her head. I meant every word that I said to her.

I pressed into her harder and grounded my dick into her core. She moaned into my mouth as my hands explored her body. My mouth left hers as it hovered over the base of her neck. I tested the spot with a lick, then sucked the skin through my lips. My right hand reached for her breast and grabbed on. I pinched her nipple, which only made her moans louder.

I moved her up against the wall and kissed her with a passion I never knew I had. She placed her hands on my chest and pushed me back, both of us breathing heavily. "I can't do this."

"Why not? You want me, baby. I know you do; I want you, and I fucking need you like my last breath."

She kept her hands firm on my chest. "If you want me, you have to prove it."

"Fine. Anything," I said as I leaned in to place another kiss on her mouth, but she turned away at the last minute leaving my lips to press against her cheek.

"I'm not going to be your mistress. If you want me as much as you say you do, then you need to break it off with Vanessa. I'm not going to be some whore." And with that, she slipped by and got under the covers, and turned away from me.

I sighed and ran a hand through my hair. She was right. I couldn't do this to her, let alone Vanessa.

Vanessa was a good person, and I couldn't let her suffer at my expense. She needed someone that could give her the world, because that's what I wanted to do for Olivia.

I went over to the bed and leaned down to place a kiss on her cheek. I moved my lips to her ear and whispered, "You will be mine again, Liv. In due time, we will be together."

I left her room and went back to my fiancé and dreaded what would happen when I told her.

Chapter Eleven

Axel

As I pulled into the parking lot, I braced myself. I got out of the truck and walked towards the door. The imaginary knife that was in my stomach twisted further. As my hand reached the knob, I slowly turned it trying to be quiet. It was late, and I hoped she would be sleeping, which would give me some time to reel in what I was going to tell her. But when I opened the door, there she sat, waiting on the bed, glaring at me.

"Where have you been?" Her tone was still charming as ever, but her eyes were cold. It was like she was staring at a stranger, not someone she was in love with.

I placed the keys on the dresser and leaned against it as I crossed my arms. "I told you. I was getting some drinks."

She shook her head and stood up as she stepped towards me. "Don't lie to me. You were with her, weren't you?"

I looked her straight in the eye. "Yes."

Tears formed in her eyes and that hurt like hell. At first, Vanessa was like a breath of fresh air for me, but after a while I realized she would never measure up to Olivia.

"Why? Did you need one last go-around before we got married? Did you need to get her out of your system? Dammit! Am I not good enough for you?"

As she paced in front of me, I remained quiet. She yelled and threw things at me, but I didn’t move. "That stupid bitch doesn't know how to stay out of someone's relationship. I bet that's how the whore got raped in the first place."

My blood ran cold. As if she knew her mistake, she stopped and stared at me with an open mouth.
