Page 48 of Golden Atonement

My brother was in a killing rage.

God help them all.

Brothers from the Diamondbacks started shooting, aiming at moving objects while several of Satan’s Angels breached the compound.

It was total chaos.

Making my way through the throngs of men, I killed everyone who crossed my path. My adrenaline was riding me hard. The smell of blood permeated all around me. Their screams were music to my ears.

The demon inside me was happy.

He was in his element as I took life after life.

Following Sandman, I slipped inside the Diamondback garage through a side door, just when Sandman spotted four more Satan’s Angels.

They were watching the clubhouse.

I knew what those fuckers were watching for.

“That’s them,” one of the Satan’s Angels said. “We wait till we see the bitch, then we go.”

I held my position while Sandman slowly approached them.

“That’s her. Let’s go.”

Moving before they could flinch, my brother slit the throat of the leader, while shooting the others dead all before they could move. With the dead at his feet something caught his attention. He never saw the fucker looming in the shadows when the fucker made his move.

“Sandman. Duck!”

Doing so immediately, my blade flew over his head, sliding into the face of a Satan’s Angel behind him. The fucker fell to his knees before collapsing to the side, dead.

Walking out of the shadows, I headed to the man on the ground. With my booted foot on the man’s chest, I yanked my sword out of the man’s face.

“Didn’t Hawk ever tell you to watch your six?”

Shaking my head, I sighed, looking at the clubhouse.

“Get her out of there. Take her to Sunny. I’ll take care of the rest of these fuckers.”

Shaking his head, he whispered, “She needs you.”

“No, she doesn’t. She never did,” I muttered, turning to walk away.

“Where are you going?”

“To make sure she never has to worry about anything ever again.”

Heading back into the darkness, I continued to kill any man with a Satan’s Angels cut. It was a bloody battle. One I knew would hit them hard, but it wouldn’t destroy them.

No.

For that to happen, it was going to take something bigger than just me.

Rounding the backside of the compound, I saw Sandman arguing with someone. Someone familiar.

Stopping to take a better look, I shook my head.

“Monk, get the fuck away from him,” Shadow ordered firmly, moving to stand in front of Sandman.
