That's when I saw the abundance of presents wrapped up beneath the Christmas tree. He had brought me gifts that my family and friends had sent me. They stood out because they were wrapped up in bright colours. All of his were a mixture of black, white, and silver.
I knelt and saw most of the presents had my name on them. Their sizes varied from large boxes to small ones, but I’d never received so many, not even as a child. I took a long breath because it was all so overwhelming. He had gone to a great deal of trouble to plan everything out. I touched a silver snowflake tree decoration before glancing at my reflection in the shiny black bauble.
My eyes trailed up the Christmas tree, and I saw an angel at the top. I stood up to see that it was a brown angel with silver wings and a long silver dress. Her hands were in a prayer pose. My eyes narrowed on the hair because it looked weird. The curls seemed too large for the tiny head.
I glanced around and saw a nest of tables. I picked the tallest one and sat it next to the tree to inspect the angel. My heart beat a little faster as my suspicion grew. I carefully took the angel off the tree.
Yup, he had glued my hair to his damn angel. The man was a fucking lunatic.
Chapter 17
Saul
I placed everything on the tray and double-checked in case I’d forgotten anything. My house had never had any Christmas spirit before, nor had I tried so hard to decorate, but I wanted Sirah to know she was special. However, the look on Sirah’s face hadn't been encouraging. She did like Hamish, so that was a plus. At least she wasn't kicking and screaming for me to take her back home.
I took everything to the dining table before I returned to the living room. Sirah stood on my small table and held my brown angel in her hand. She didn't look too happy about her cum infused hair attached to my angel. She was too engrossed in examining my unique angel when I crept up behind her.
“Do you like her?” I asked, and she jumped before she lost her footing on the table.
I didn't hesitate to grab her as the table clattered on the floor.
“Is this my hair?” she asked breathlessly as I set her on the floor.
There was no need to ask where this would sit on her sweet or creepy spreadsheet. I plucked my angel from her fingers before I reached up and sat my queen on my tree.
“I always enjoyed arts and crafts as a child,” I said shamelessly. “Breakfast is ready.”
When she didn't move, I led her dazed ass to the kitchen.

She remained quiet throughout breakfast, possibly because she was hungry. Her plate was clean, and she sipped on her second cup of tea. Since I anticipated her need for caffeine, I brewed our tea in a teapot. I told her all about my family, but I didn't mention Katya’s pregnancy because I respected Seth and Katya enough for them to break the news to everyone. I put everything on the tray and left it beside the dishwasher.
“Right, present time,” I declared with a smile.
“Oh, joy,” she muttered.
“Where is your Christmas spirit?” I demanded.
“It got lost somewhere between sleeping pills and my stolen hair,” she said as she touched her hair while glaring at me.
“But the question is, has anyone ever designed an entire holiday around you?” I said with a snicker.
“Seriously, what is wrong with you?” she said with a shake of her head.
“You. This is all for you. I’ve been obsessed with you day and night. Everything I’ve done has been to make this a special Christmas for you,” I said softly as I touched her cheek. “None of this is on a whim, Sirah. I am deadly serious about us.”
She stared at me, and once again, I was mesmerised by her eyes. The same eyes that caught my attention when I met her for the first time in July. She wouldn't remember me because she was married then, and I knew enough about Sirah to realise she was fiercely loyal. It’s why she hurt so much to know Ryan had been a cheating bastard for the majority of their union.
“Yes, I have a past, but that's exactly what it is, my past. My parents have been married for decades, and my brother is happily married. I didn't think I would follow suit until I met you,” I said when she said nothing.
I dipped my head down and kissed her sweet lips. My eyes closed when she didn't resist me. I wouldn't cheat on her, and I would never neglect her as Seth did with Katya. Not because I was better than him but because I finally understood how he felt when Katya asked for a divorce. He still deserved the slap I gave him, though. That had been fun.

I sat beside the tree and couldn't contain my excitement for Sirah to open all her presents. It was a mixture of everything on her wish list and some of the items she had viewed more than once in the last five months from me hacking her. I left the kinky box until the end because I intended to fuck her again before we went to my parent's house.
“How many of my knickers did you steal?” she asked as she dangled the deep red thong from the tip of her finger.
