“River’s not okay yet,” he grumbled.
“I’m okay, beastie,” I promised but stayed on his lap.
The captains helped me get all of the files and papers reorganized. I confirmed that I did really pay attention to what I was signing. I didn’t blame them given how out of it I was. I was just hyperfocused on the documents and not my magic.
Taeral came through the portal with more bakery boxes… And Katrina.
“I told you alone,” Neldor snapped.
“I didn’t think Katrina counted when the princess tells her everything,” Taeral countered.
“She didn’t tell me that she robbed a jewelry store or…” Katrina blinked at what was in front of her and then my face. “Really? You can make diamonds now?”
I snorted. “A god gave me a vision on how to do it so we didn’t con humans for money. It’s way more complicated than just I can make diamonds. They’re lab grown ones, so… I’m not sure why the god thought that better.” I shrugged and had another croffle.
Katrina didn’t seem to know what to say for several moments. “There is wine in this residence, yes?”
I wasn’t the only one who laughed. That was such a Katrina response and I loved it. She actually fainted when someone showed her the dining room, and I felt bad about that, but also glad I wasn’t the only one acting over the top?
Yeah, maybe that.
I was glad when all of the paperwork was fixed and even delivered where it should have been. I had a tiny pile I could handle in the morning over breakfast… Which apparently was going to include all of the carbs in Seoul.
Neldor bought out the croffles—which I needed in my life again—and Taeral came with crazy macarons. Huge ones stuffed with cream and fruit and nummy.
Morgan arrived with donuts. All the donuts and had to go back and get the rest of what he bought. The shop had forty different types and he got five of each.
Even I couldn’t eat that many donuts… In one day at least.

I made over five hundred pounds of diamonds.
That was almost three hundred thousand of them.
Which was aroundthree billionworth in diamonds… Well, what we would sell them for.
So okay, I was pretty valid in my meltdown and emergency food situation because that was crazy. Even for my magic.
Yes, I stuffed my face silly the next morning to make sure I was okay after that.
Stefanie was a bit off when we went to go look at wedding dresses, and I felt horrible that I was pressuring her into this, but she’d seemed interested in it. Which was why we ended up just staring at each other when I tried on the first one.
She sighed heavily. “I don’t know how to do this and make it enjoyable for you. That dress doesn’t remotely work when I’ve seen you be radiant.” She gestured to what I was wearing. “And that was the one I loved most in the book. I should not be the one to be here.”
“Well, I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing either,” I grumbled, crossing my arms over my chest. I sighed when she rolled her eyes. “I’m good at stylingothers, Stefanie. It’s harder when it’s for myself especially now that everyone will judge me for any little thing and I wanted to elope.”
“We need backup,” she accepted. “I appreciate you wanting me here for this, but…” She chuckled. “I won’t leave. I want to be here, but neither of us are girly girls for this.”
“No, we’re really not,” I agreed. “We’d rather be looking over a collection of fairy blades.” I felt better when she nodded. I sighed and grabbed my phone, calling Katrina. “Stefanie and I have no idea what we’re doing. If you can keepcalmand dial it down to a five on your excitement, I would like if you joined us.”
Then I made the call a few more times. All the female commanders showed up, Izzy, Sasha, and Mrs. Von Thann, who seemed shocked to get the call.
Yeah, well, it was hard to call Hudson’s mom and not Lucca’s, even if I was way tighter with the dragon queen.
They were actually a huge help. We ruled out anything poofy fast. This wasn’t something for a huge skirt or too much crazy.
“I don’t want a veil when I’m going to be wearing one of my mother’s tiaras,” I hedged as I looked them over. “I always thought flowers in the hair were pretty, but Julian would want my hair down.”
