He nips my earlobe. “Only for you.”
I snuggle against him, enjoying the feel of his body against mine. His heart beats steadily beneath my palm. I trace myfingers along his chest, enjoying the feel of his skin. He sighs and wraps his arms around me, holding me close.
“I can’t believe you’re going to be a father,” I whisper as I rest my head on his chest.
“Mmm, hmm,” he replies distractedly. Then his body stiffens and the arm around my waist crushes me. “What did you say?”
“I said, I can’t believe you’re going to be a father.”
He props up on one elbow and stares down at me. “You’re pregnant?”
“Yes.”
“We’re going to have a baby?”
“Yes.”
“Oh, Olivia.” He kisses me hungrily, his hands roaming over my body. I can feel his excitement growing as he touches me. I giggle as he rolls me onto my back, his hands cupping my breasts.
“Carlo, what are you doing?”
“Celebrating.” He kisses me again, his lips moving down my neck. “I’m so happy, sweetheart.”
“So am I.”
He buries his face on my belly, nuzzling me. “What are you doing?”
“Meeting the newest Gataki.”
“Oh no, I’m not the newest Gataki anymore.” I grouse, as the thought assails me. “Dammit, I felt so special.”
“You’re the original Gataki, sweetheart. The first. The one and only.”
“And now I’m not the only one.” I can’t help the pout.
“You’ll always be the only one for me.” He peppers my belly with kisses. “You’re the only one I want to make babies with.”
“You want more than one?” I ask, surprised.
“Sweetheart, I want a house full of children.”
“You do?”
“Yes, and I want them to be just like you. Smart and beautiful.”
“You’re so silly.”
“No, I’m not. I’m serious. I want a houseful of kids. I want them to run around and drive me crazy. I want to watch them grow up and have their own families.”
“I want that, too.”
“Good, then we’re on the same page.”
“Yes, we are.”
“Olivia?”
“Yes?”
“I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
“Merry Christmas, sweetheart.”
“Merry Christmas, Carlo.”
